Beating EVERY N64 Game - Fighters Destiny (144/394) 

Woah, this is one of those games I didn't realize I'd played until I saw that character select screen and the memories came flooding back.

Jaromír Jágr is featured on the hockey game… and he could have been in any hockey game from the NES to the Switch, as he played from 1990 to 2018. That’s crazy.

Ah, the n64's Tekken. I loved this and it's sequel. One of the most underrated fighting games of all time.

Another game i never played, but vividly remember seeing the box art at the rental store all the time.

I actually really like the concept of this, as someone who's never been good at fighters this seems to add some nice variety.

This was a regular rental for me and my buddies back in the day, I remember unlocking the cow and that's all we would play as and spammed the heck of those back kicks lol.

I can't stress how much this is the best fighting game on the system. The controls feel good and it is so great that there are so many options. Someone throwing you? Just interrupt the throw -OR- reverse it and you will catch yourself mid-animation and start a throw on them (which they can also interrupt if they are fast enough). Has someone just pushed you to the edge of the arena and you are hanging off the edge? Well, if they get too close you can use Throw to drag them off the platform and turn the tables. Of course they can interrupt that one as well. Despite what it looked like in this video everything can be blocked. When your health gets all the way down you go into Piyori state where your guy is kinda purple and has stars around their head -BUT- you are not out of the fight. You can still dodge attacks by jumping or ducking but your inputs are sluggish. If you survive a few seconds of this then you rejoin the fight with some health back. The point system for matches feels great because there is actually a good payoff for doing something cool versus just pushing them out of the arena. The characters share a lot of base moves which makes it really easy to play different characters -BUT- the animations for their attacks are different and so each character really has their own flavor. It is an awesome game.

8:54 Pierre's Transformation actually gives him a damage buff with each successful dance. When his nose is at 5x, he does inredible damage and has the ability to knock a dizzy opponent down with 1 jab.

"You can play as Ushi, but I prefer calling him The Cow." Kinda funny, since Ushi is literally the Japanese word for Cow, so you were already doing that. ;)

Absolutely loved this game when I was a kid, the point system was extremely unique and reminds me of combat sports in the Olympics.

One of the most underrated fighting games ever. VS another person who knows how to play well is just incredibly competitive. Controls ans movesets are great to pull off. A true hidden gem.

I’ve never heard of this game, but the points system is a neat idea over a generic button mashing fighter. I’ll have to give it a shot the next time I fire up my MiSTer.

I remember 12 year old me also discovering the flipping heel kick with Boro was insanely broken. Made my little brother rage so hard!

These have been so fun to watch. Thank you for doing this challenge, even though I know it's going to get much harder later, I appreciate the sacrifice!

My favorite fighting game ever. Pierre's nose size affects his power so growing it as big as possible is a good strategy. You have to double tap the dodge button though which leaves you vulnerable to attacks (especially throws which can't be escaped if you're holding the dodge button). A real thinking man's fighter.

I saw the rodeo mode and all I could think of was, "avoid the meadow" 😂

Oh how dare you say the music is generic :(( Personally I LOVE the soundtrack of this game; I still listen to it to this day! And the fighter's grunts are absolutely hilarious, but that's just the nostalgia in me talking louder than anything else. lmao I am still in love with this game and Joker still scares the crap out of me and I love him for it.

this game is amazing. i bought it back at the time. the cow is hilarious! the pointing system is only-of-a-kind and is awesome. more games could use it. or even an fighters destiny 3 could exist now!

I’ve seen a lot of obscure fighting games but I have NEVER heard of this one. The PS1 really held a monopoly on good fighting games till the Dreamcast came out. This one doesn’t seem like the worst, that scoring system is definitely rare to see and ring outs are awesome.

This game was a good rent back in the day. The VS mode is definitely the best part, with counters, throws, throw reversals, etc.. it made the matches very exciting.

That game was FUNNY to me, I had fun with that game even though I didn’t understand the game, manly due to the fact it was DIFFERENT and VERY unusual compared to other fighting games.

To me the team that created Fighters Destiny wanted to be different and used a point system instead of winning 2 out of 3 rounds. I think they got the idea from the Shoot-Style wrestling promotions in the '90s with UWFI, RINGS, and Pancrase.

Me and my family had blast with this game. At first we didnt have no clue about the game. But the mechanics and the score system was awesome. Fighters destiny 2 didnt do to well tho. I wish they would come out with a new game. I think it would do pretty well if done right

Oh man! Bummer you didn't delve deeper into this one... playing with someone else is truly the best way to play, but the sheer number of moves and ways to score points is where it is at! Didn't even show a hold, bro, c'mon! Counter moves, counter holds, counter throws, so many special final moves... you get a "le sigh" on this one, bro...

I loved the game! I remember, my brother and I unlocked every character possible. It was very hard. My brother loved to play as Emil (the cow) and I hated it. Lol

This seems like a decent fighting game which tried to do something a bit different, and a lot more realistic than normal. This is more grounded in reality than most fighting games. The difficulty seems a bit low, so the true test of how good the game is would probably require playing it on higher difficulty settings.

Ushi means cow in Japanese, same as Kuma from Tekken literally just means bear.
