He missed an easy tactic right after it. When the king moved to the d-file Eric had rook to d1 which would have won the rook and forced mated

I like the opening theme idea. I enjoy the kings indian/pirc/modern or the grunfeld with black. With white I have begun playing the italian and would be interested in seeing that. Great content as always!

Yes! More theme tourneys :) They really show different and interesting lines and it helps 1100 scrubs like me learn! Would love to see one on the hallowe’en, queens or England gambits, they always make for fun viewing :)

That double check queen win should be a puzzle maneuver, I’ve never done a puzzle like it and that’s an awesome move. Also, Eric, you should partner with Levy and create courses for Chessly, I’d love one on your Jobava london especially after doing gothams D4 london/trompowsky course. A specialized Jobava london would be great

Everyone missed it but I’m so proud that I found it. At 16:12 instead of knight CB4, knight FE4 traps the opponent’s QUEEN. I think right?😂

Im playing Jobava against 1600 rated computer but I think the rating must be stronger bc although this is great opening against a human, the computer ALWAYS finds the correct position no matter how solid I play.

When you said that Jobava was a strong grandmaster from Georgia I got confused if it was a state or a country. Usually the answer is clear by the context, but not in this case. Although I guess he's from the states judging by his name =)

46:10 isn't Nd2 crushing here? White has to take with the rook, because if they take with the knight, you have Bc3 discovered check and winning the queen. When they take with the rook, you take back with the bishop, and the knight can no longer capture because it's pinned by your rook on b8. Oh nvm, he said it later

What's the issue with Nc6 at 41:50? Nc6/Qb7, Nb4/Bxd6, Nc2 wins rook? Possibly traps their Queen if they castle to defend C2?

You get half the time and no increment (in this case 1:30 instead of 3 min) but get more points and obviously more opportunities to play games because you are likely done quicker
