Weirdest fact from this guide. The Italian translation, instead of getting new screens from the Italian version or just keeping the English ones, kept the English screens but blurred them to make them impossible to read so that no one could notice that. Sadly the artworks were also blurred, and the braille guide for the Regi too.
@RiftFishing
@RiftFishing 3 года назад
I had the official Nintendo Power guide rather than the Prima growing up, but I remember just being completely amazed by it. The Pokedex in the back, details on every route and I think it even had a braille translation section. It really made the world feel massive. There were a couple funny bits in it like a section saying "Use your master ball on hard to catch Pokemon" and then proceeded to show them using it on a Loudred. I'll need to see if I can find it again.

I always assumed Wally had some kind of Asthma, or something like it. It mentioned him needed to go 'where the air is clear,' and that his illness stops him from being able to 'travel too far,' so... I'm playing through Alpha Sapphire currently and that does seem like a logical explanation. Although as recently as the 1800's it was common to send anybody with bad health to the countryside to recuperate, and this seems to be an idea in Japan too as it shows up in My Neighbor Totoro. Since Hoenn is based on Kyushu, and that area is known for being more warm and tropical, maybe he was told to move somewhere with a warmer climate.
@krystallinekris
@krystallinekris 2 года назад
@@mizusenshi8172 There's that, too, but they specifically mention uh... Verdanturf I think is the name of the city at the end of the tunnel by Rustboro? They specifically that city to be where they're sending Wally to 'get better, because the "air is cleaner" I think? I think they say it's because of the breeze or something. They mentioned this even when you're in that third city where your father is the gym leader, which is where *his* house technically is.

I think that both Sharpedo/Crawdaunt and the Glalie with wrong type thing are possibly something that was changed later in development and the guide either didn't get all updates (like Sharpedo/Crawdaunt) or forgot to update some things (for the Glalie, for example, it could have been another pokémon there, a Water/Ice type, then it was changed to Glalie, so the guide updated the name but forgot to update the types)

Just a random thought: since you're mr Poké guides/Nintended how about you create a guide yourself(probably digital) and show it off in a video with your thoughts and struggles creating it

I got this guide shortly after this game came out and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I even bragged about having this guide at school. Now that I see all the goofy stuff in this guide it make that whole story funny🤣

I had a guide alongside my copy of Pokémon Emerald, but whilst there was some similarities, I recall mine being a tad more accurate and detailed than yours. A fun video with a unique team and I love how you incorporated the type mistake early on for your starter choice.

I never had the guide for Emerald, but did have Ruby/Sapphire one from Nintendo Power and but mostly just used it for the pokedex in it to see when pokemon Evolved and didn't notice any typo/errors in it. plus on the last page it had the Key for the secret dot messages and only like the last couple of pages mentioned anything from the end game after you beat the elite four.

Among people who actually care what pronunciation of a Pokémon’s name is the official one, the general consensus is that the pronunciations from “3D Pokédex Pro” are the official ones for Pokémon from Gen V and earlier. (That being said, it uses the pronunciation “dee-alga” which doesn’t fit some obvious words associated with Dialga)

You forgot to mention the special double battle that happens in the mossdeep space center, it is the first time ever for pokemon to introduce this common feature in later games where you double battle with a partner npc trainer.
