okay I've got a great idea for a challenge run, how about a dance mat but the controls are randomized and also you're upside down so you have to do everything with your hands and also masahiro ito is there commenting on your life choices and also if you take damage he tazes you and also if it was a good+ 10 star hard run, wouldn't that be cool (seriously though, great video! wasn't there - I was probably at work or something boring - so I appreciate the breakdown. definitely more complicated than I thought it'd be)
32:03 Man. I spent the whole video trying to work up a good comment about one of those fishing rod controllers. Anyway, bravo! I've been watching a lot of people play Silent Hill recently, it's nice to finally see somebody do it the way it was obviously meant to be done. Exceptional work!
i wonder if the aim was jumping around because the aim input was interrupted by the shoot input, and then aim would re-input causing it to try to lock on
This was a really fun video! I enjoyed it a lot, I remember all that frustration around the Splithead fight. personally i think you should complete silent hill using the ps1 controller next though
So when are you going to nah I'm kidding, this is a fantastic video! I love the breakdown of how challenges like these are approached (at least in terms of button mapping), as it's obvious a lot of thought goes into them.
I didn't know Silent Hill lets you remap all the buttons even a lot of modern console games don't let you do that so to see a ps1 game give you the option is really neat the only other ps1 game I can think of that lets you do that is pacman world.
32:39 Suikoden 2 with Only One Hand...j/k (it's actually quite easy since there are redundant controls baked into the shoulder buttons; only major hiccup is recruiting Karen for all 108 stars since you have to do some memorized dance mini-game)
If This isn’t too forward… how much weight do you think one could lose doing this? My friend who used to live in Japan said he used to go to the arcade and exercise on the DDR machines so I assume that this could be the outline for a very effective workout campaign?
shame that you won't consider any more gimmick controller runs when the PS1 had a gimmick fishing rod controller that's just begging to be used for silent hill :P
i generally endeavour to have a video completed roughly once every month and a half or so and honestly I don't think I could get these out faster than that even if I didn't stream
8:44 All I heard was that when I make that Silent Hill theme park which is just a recreated version of the town with fog machines to make you the park manager. Now I just need an evil high priestess for the supernatural stuff.
This is going to sound so off-the-line, specially after seeing the struggle to beat all the boses on the dancemat (and the help you got with the tube-frame), but what is the song in the credits? i've heard it before and i can't point out to what it can be. And it absolutely is NOT super mario world's athletic theme
@@PunchyYT I only remember seeing Theatrhythm. Which I realized counted as a rhythm game (and that mech game had a rhythm game element to it) but I was specifically thinking of one that used the dance pad or other peripheral, as to my knowledge the other ones both played with a standard controller
this is a youtube quirk, there is a risk of getting demonetized if you have a swear their auto-captioning can pick up within the first minute or so but past a certain point it seems to stop caring
@@PunchyYT Kinda figured that was why. Guess YT figures kids can't focus for longer than 5 minutes, so who cares about swearing past that? (Half joking)
