People often ask if it’s OK to pause after the inhale instead of the exhale. This is completely OK, but keep in mind it will be a slightly different experience. There is a natural emptiness after the exhale that brings a deeper stillness than the space after the inhale.
Pausing after the exhale is naturally more deeply relaxing.
Pausing after the inhale is also calming, but naturally more energizing.
