I had a dream that I met Jarvis. I told him I really liked your (Jordan) videos, and he got upset at me and left.

As someone who ended up marrying someone I had initially 'friend zoned', what he's saying is absolute bull. Over time, as we hung out, my feelings towards my now husband changed and he never expected me to date him, despite his feelings. He respected my autonomy and when he did ask me out (after being friends for several years), he reiterated that I could say no. I didn't, here we are 😝

As a dude in his 30's, being a manipulative asshole never resulted in any meaningful relationships for me. Not even a simple hookup. I don't even know any dudes that work this way. They get laid just fine by being honest and fun. I've never met a woman in my adult life that was obviously turned on by assholes. These videos just make me grateful that my social circle isn't filled with total childish trash - did I get lucky?

I don't like the idea that the *only* reason you'd stay friends with someone you're attracted to who doesn't romantically reciprocate is because you're just holding out for them to change their mind, nor do I really get why being friends with them isn't something you'd want. Like. If I like someone enough to want to be in a relationship with them, I'd much rather have them as a friend than just not in my life at all. Is it what I'd want the most ideally, no, is it awkward sometimes especially at first, yes, but it's *unquestionably* preferable to having no relationship at all with someone whose company I enjoy that much. -Or, to be fair I do understand to an extent that not everyone feels this way; I *can* actually see why that might just be more uncomfortable than anything in some cases. But I don't get why it seems like almost *no one* feels this way about it, don't like that "genuinely being friends" isn't presented as even an *option* by people like this.
