I like this Bulgaria path because it’s one of a very select few in the game that has a narrative that involves shifting political support in an interesting way. You have to increase democracy to make it look like your country is slowly democratising before a crisis happens and power is seized by Ferdinand or the regency council depending on your path choice. You don’t see many paths requiring you to increase ideology before going down a different one.

it's sort off a theme in by blood alone with the ottoman and byzantine paths for Turkey and Greece respectively have you play as a democratic government before having that government collapse

Bulgaria is absolutely in my top 5 focus trees, not only is it incredibly engaging no matter what path you do, but most have you coring the whole of the balkans as well as giving you access to a lot of powerful options, like great mios (it was better before mio rework but ehh) to do whatever tickles your fancy. I also like the narrative they are given of starting out as perhaps the weakest nation in the balkans by far (at least based off military and factories) bar Albania, but having you claw your way back up the foodchain, be it through foreign aid or by bloody conquest of your own
