Just had my dog put to sleep today. I needed this.

There is an Oktoberfest in LaCrosse Wisconsin every year, too, if you can't make it to Germany. Well, many cities in Wisconsin, lol. A lot of Germans settled Wisconsin, so they have been celebrating it on a large scale there since 1961. It is like St. Patricks Day, but everyone is German for a few days, lol.

My fave of the BL films. Everyone wants this competition to be real. Many of us have been training for it without even knowing. Great reaction as always.

The role of old Baron Wolfgang von Wolhausen, was played by Jürgen Prochnow, a legendary german actor, who starred "Das Boot", a well known Wolfgang´s Petersen´s film.

Broken Lizard Fact: Broken Lizard is an American comedy troupe that comprises Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. They collaborate on the screen-writing, acting and productions of their films, with Chandrasekhar and Heffernan being primarily directors. The team however does not have any single leader and they work collaboratively when choosing material and writing projects. The group formed at Colgate University in 1989.

This movie reminds me better times. When this came out i remember me and my bro buying tickets to something else and sneaking into Beerfest. After Super Troopers we HAD to check this out.

I effing love the the Willie Nelson cameo at the end, I'm huge fan of his music. Ps he just released a Christmas album, perfect for a family Christmas party because you can light up to it and get in the holiday spirit.

I went to Oktoberfest in Munich once. Too crowded to get a beer (unless you post up for a spot at 6 AM). I did get a huge pretzel, though :) Also, coined the term “street pizza” on account of all the puddles of vomit you had to be careful to avoid…. Good times! Prost!

"I miss you..." The three weirdos on the way to Beerfest are played by the other 3 members of BL. Jay is the blind Sihk, Kevin the creepy butcher, and Steve is in the top 🎩 Hopefully we get Club Dread for next summer or spooky season and Slammin Salmon too.

Yeah, don't drink German beer if you are not used to drinking. lol It's very good but strong. Those mugs are huge. Octoberfest is fun as long as you don't get too drunk. Your doctor will not be happy with you if you spend days drinking German beer before your checkup. 18:41 thats a classic prank. Me and buddies used to do that to the first person who passed out drunk. Made him think he was a werewolf for a while. lol

The science guy was Mack from Super Troopers. He is the one that wore the nut cup and had them chase him at the beginning of the movie.

I agree with your opinion on Beerfest. I saw it in the movies in 2006. Our friends were all gearing up to see something else and we missed the beginning, so we settled on Beerfest. A few of our friends found the movie sophomoric, immature and stupid. A few (myself included) found it to be a movie we can watch anytime without getting bored. I like it overall.

On the subject of what you received in your PO Box, those Heisei era "Gamera" movies are dynamite (namely the first 3). Arguably better than the competing "Godzilla" films that were being produced at that time.

This movie is hilarious, so I'm excited to watch your reaction to it. It actually inspired me when it came out to come up with my own "Beerfest" of sorts with games and a whole ruleset and everything. Granted, I was just out of high school at the time and it never went anywhere, but it was a fun concept 🤣🤣

Cloris Leachman (Great Gam Gam) and Jürgen Prochnow (Baron Wolfgang von Wolfhausen) will always be the reason why I prefer this movie to Super Troopers. Jürgen starred as the Captain in the 1981 film Das Boot. This movie has several references to that film, particularly when Jürgen mentions having a “bad experience” in a German U-boat.

The nerd was the wild one “Mac” in super troopers. Wore the bullet proof jock strap on the range, dressed up in the wig and bandana and took the boys on the police chase etc

first Broken Lizard(?) movie I saw and it's still my favorite. super troopers grew on me. slammin' salmon had some good jokes, club dread i had high hopes for, but it does have good stuff.

Another great reaction, J! Glad you loved this movie so much. This is my favorite of the Broken Lizard films that I've seen (though I haven't seen them all). It reminds me of when I was stationed in Germany; spent most of the time trying to drink that country dry. I failed miserably, but it was fun trying. BTW, Oktoberfest - despite the name - usually starts in mid-september, and ends in early October. I never got to go while I was in Germany because my unit was always deployed in the filed during that time, but there are so many beer halls, and so many tests all year round in Germany that it wasn't that much of a loss. And you can go to the Hofbrauhaus in Munich anytime and it's like Oktoberfest every day of the year. I'm jealous that you received the Gamera film collection. I've been trying to get that for awhile, and I'm hoping Santa will drop it off this year. I know you film these videos ahead of time, but it's appropriate that you showed your gift on November 27, which is Gamera Day, which marks the 58th anniversary of the release of the first Gamera movie.

My favorite of the Broken Lizard movies. Though Club Dread is EXTREMELY underrated. And that one has Bill Paxton. And who doesn't love that guy? You should also check out Puddle Cruiser. It's the movie the Broken Lizard guys made before Super Troopers (they were college students at the time, and it's probably the best comedic student film i've ever seen (no running around in the woods, and everyone dying at the end because they don't know how to end a movie) It's a legit teen comedy set in a college, made by students. Deserves more love.
