I didn’t realize how small your garden is until now. I originally thought your space was comparable to that of a rural/farm space. Of course comparing it to my urban lot your space is huge It’s an incredible transformation with creative planning of space, both horizontally and vertically. I personally am not a fan of perennial gardens but yours is the exception. I’ve finally realized that the reason I like it so much is because it’s well organized. It doesn’t look like someone threw a bunch of seeds in the air and let them fall wherever and said “grow”. The artwork also helps to give the eyes a rest. There’s so much harmony in your garden. Very beautiful and peaceful and easy to enjoy!
I am sure your neighbours are happy you bought your home, you gave them some privacy too not just yourself. Your garden and it transformation should be in a magazine or something. Your hard work is worthy of recognition.
This "before and after" really brings it all into perspective. Stunning is what comes to mind. The flow of everything in harmony is what really captures the eye!
How you dealt with those oddly placed utility boxes and all of that water is a testament to your landscaping skills and vision. One would never know they were there or that you had a real water problem. It's hard to believe you have no training. Well done, Mike.

Taken from someone who is dealing with half the challenges you are, you made a whole freakin lemon pie out of a lemon of a back yard with your water flow issues!!! I too thought that your yard was huge, but instead, I can see how, with great ingenuity, you made what seems to be a regular builder’s quarter acre feel like a sprawling acre...kudos! It’s fun to see how a man designs a garden in comparison...great perspective on how to meet the challenges!
What a great way of showing the before and afters, and I still think it is genius the way you have dealt with all that water. The aerial shots at the end were fabulous too.

Mike, you have one of the loveliest, most interesting gardens I have ever seen. You said you had a drainage issue, but that flooding in that photo was terrible! You are a handy, resourceful guy, and you made a disaster into an asset. Every time I watch one of your videos I am blown away by your creativity!

Wow! What a transformation! Your garden today looks like its always been there. Bravo for seeing the potential in a basically empty space. You have gained privacy, beauty and a wonderful habitat for wildlife. Did you start with the whole garden in mind or was is more of an evolution? (I'm guessing the latter). There is one more thing I would like to say........you should quit your day job and become a landscaper!!! Imagine how much joy you would get creating landscapes by Moxie for other people and bringing joy!!!! Think about it because it would be not only super profitable, but it would not be a job if you did something you absolutely loved. I am sure your family would love the idea!!! I want to see your creations all over the States because it would make the world look a little better :)
Very creative use of old photographs. Thank you for the drone shots. You certainly have created a masterpiece in your small space. Going from flooded mess to a slice of Eden, everything you have done speaks to your creativity and talent.
What a great way to show your story! Develop the pictures and hang them from the trees in the garden you created. That is an ironic yet transformative way to demonstrate the work and love you have put into creating your special place. It feels like you are in your own cocoon, surrounded by other houses that you can't see that no longer impede on your privacy and your peaceful garden!
I don’t know why I just decided to show my husband the transformation of your beautiful yard. He was in awe. He said WOW! that’s unbelievable;it’s BEAUTIFUL! It doesn’t even look like the same place. It’s time for us to start living our dream on our property but I’d like to hire a professional landscaper to do it. I’m crushed😂!!!!I bragged on you and how you did it yourself. I will have a physical hand in the transformation because I love playing in the dirt and seeing the wonders of nature spring up -God revealing the beauty of this earth and how He created it for us to tend to and enjoy. I bet a few cuss words were said the first day your yard flooded. Awesome work with the video. What a great opportunity that oversized lot presented too you and you knocked it out of the park to create this beautiful oasis.

What an AMAZING TRANSFORMATION OF YOUR YARD...it doesn’t even look like the same place and couldn’t believe how flooded your yard was...YOU HAVE DONE A WONDERFUL JOB and so WELL PUT with the flowers, trees and your decor fixtures...for someone who was a beginner sure turned out like a “PRO” JUST LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!
Besides the beauty of the garden, I think the best thing shown is your working within the framework of what you were given. From many other videos, you had mentioned the "pond" that your backyard became during rain, but I hadn't seen any evidence like you showed here. You could have spent tons of money to force the land to fit your ideas, but you worked with it to accomplish something maybe even better than what you thought it could be. Kudos!
