Yep I made that mistake. I’m been suffering for 15 yrs. still suffering. I think I almost have one foot out the door. Kids suffer too. Sometimes you think you are making the right decision when you made a poor one to begin with. Take it from me. Doing the right thing is not always doing the right thing. Get married because you are ready and mature and you can’t see yourself with out that person. Don’t get married out of obligation because you are expected to. You will reap the consequences sooner and as well as later. Please if someone feels like that now. Take it from me. Do not make the mistake I did. I’m still suffering for it. And I own a 3 family house now with 3 kids. This is not how I wanted my life to be. Now I will be maybe looking for another place to live because it’s too toxic. The kids are suffering as well as myself. I’m 40yrs old. This is not fun at all. God Bless everyone.

There isn't necessarily a best age to get married, but there definitely is a best time to get married. The best time to get married is when you feel comfortable and confident in your job and personal life. If you were to give yourself an exact age, you might find that you settle for whomever you're with at that age.

I am married and i never thought how married life actually would be And now i am stuck in this forced responsibilities and relations and all. everyday i feel like running away from everyone yet i can not do that as it will hurt others. I had so many dreams to study further in physics and work in research, I see my dreams dying every day in front of my eyes and I fear that one day all fragments of my soul will die and what remains is someone's wife, a daughter in law, an aunt and many more such titles BUT NOT ME.

I so needed to see this video right now . My relatives set me up to talk to a nice guy they know eventhough i wasn't interested. I still talked to him and he is a genuinely good person, and we can even be the best of friends but we just can't click on a romantic level coz I have some different expectations from life and of what I want in my life partner and he doesn't fit into that. I tried to be cordial but it seems he already started liking me , so i had to push him away at first gently and then a bit rudely coz he just didn't seem to understand what i was going through. I had to do it to save him from further falling in luv with a person who doesn't feel the same way about him. And all of this happened bcz of how hyped up his family and my relatives were regarding me. I feel like a bad person sometimes but I know I would be suffering in regret for the rest of my life if i got together with someone for whom i have no feelings. I chose my happiness over everyone elses. This video only confirmed that what i did was right. Coz i did it for myself. Thank you jay. I'm at peace now❤️

To late for me, I was married from 2004-2010. Everything Jay is saying is absolutely true. This was exactly how I felt in our marriage. Not only did I feel pressure from our family and my ex, but from our circle of friends as well. Some of my friends said I owed my ex big time because she was with me while I was in graduate school (little did I know she was planing to leave me within a year into my marriage, but that’s a different story). Whether I owed my ex or not, my friends getting involved in our marriage is not their business.

Im 40 not even interested to hear word marriage.. but wherever I go same question.. multiple people.. multiple time.. at home everyday it's unbearable torture.. I cried.. pleaded.. requested.. saying "please don't force me it will b a disaster in both of our life in future.. I'm not able to concentrate on work and enjoy life" Even after this some stopped speaking with me.. parents still search for proposal and inform me every now and then.. relatives force saying before marriage everyone say that..after marriage everything will b fine.. It may sound insulting. but I want to tell the mentality here, Go to any public toilet, from 10mtr far one will get puke.. we don't know to keep clean toilet and if someone suggest they don't want to take that and don't keep it clean this is the state of mind here.. They don't want to change their thinking that's it..

I never understood why at least to me, people act like marriage is something your bound to do, it’s so annoying when I hear people saying stuff like “oh you’ll find someone eventually and get married” it used to piss me off allot because it’s like other people are telling you what to do with your life, so now being 20 almost 21 never had even gone on a date before or even had a single crush in my life, I just don’t let any of that stuff get to me because I always had this vision of me laying on my death bed with my final thoughts thinking if there is anything significant about my life but then thinking if I got married there wouldn’t be, because I would have lived the same life as a majority of the population (or at least it seems that way, if someone reading this has a different opinion I’d be happy and open to see what they have to say)

That is so true spread the word this is very good advice. I live in Trinidad and a lot of relationships and marriages take place based on family pressure. When it comes to jobs that in itself is a different kind of pressure as well. So this is positive and really good advice.

I talked to the boy and decided to give him another chance. The wedding preparations have begun. A boy is a good person.
