Definitely needed some bullet points to stay motivated and focused. Getting this start up candle business launched is along marathon. Easy to get beaten down. Thanks Wade.
Thank you so much for this video. Chief of everything sounds way better than what I had been calling myself 😆 I love Craftybase so much and I’m so glad I saw one of your videos on it early on. It has made a huge difference!
This video came at the perfect time. I've been wick testing since late January and I'm about ready to throw everything out the window! LOL. Thanks for the words of wisdom. :)
Thank you for making these videos! I'm getting ready to start up a business so I'm really interested in the additional episodes you mentioned of diving into these topics even more!
Totally loved this video. I truly appreciate it. The making process is definitely terrifying, but the "business side" of things, such as marketing, legalizing, websites, inventory..just to name a few, literally have me petrified. Thank you for taking the time. I haven't even come close to perfecting the "making" side of things, but knowing all of the other stuff that comes with starting/having a business is so scary. Anyway, I appreciate your input and your guidance. Thanks again, I am soaking it all in lol
Thank you for sharing everything, really appreciate it! I'm in the testing process and I've already experienced moments of frustration but I still continue with what I've got. I personally struggle with perfection because when that time comes and I will launch, I want to have the best product I can possibly make and be better than other competitors.
Completely understand. I was the same way. But there is definitely a benefit to getting started and gaining experience as you go too! You will always wanna keep improving anyway ;) Thanks for being here!
Great video and advice! I haven’t even started selling yet ~ but I’m scared to add up what I’ve spent so far on this journey. Like, I’m sorry but not sorry because if I hadn’t bought and tested the materials I have so far, I’d never know what kind of results I’d get. I’m a nerd about testing. I don’t believe in the wickless testing method because I feel like you really need to burn a candle top to bottom ~ even if it’s crappy. This is how I do my research and I make detailed notes on everything! I’d rather spend more on testing thoroughly than cutting corners. That’s just me though. Again, thanks for this video!
Np! And I agree about wickless. I have a descent idea now of which wick types and size work for me so I make regular candles with a few wicks. I don't do wickless as it's unreliable. The darn wicks won't stay straight if not stuck. They lean and eventually fall over.
Thank you so much for this video. Two things I’m not good at is Marketing and management of time and inventory. Do you suggest having a day to do only marketing or should it be done daily?
Great question. I think batching is a good idea. Try to batch your work like marketing into chuncks whether it's 1 day or whatever. As you grow you might need to scale it more... but get way to start. You can schedule posts as well which is helpful for social media. Also, if it makes you feel better, I'm not get at marketing either. It's my least favorite part too
Haha you heard that did ya? I didn't until I was editing. It was actually my water panel for the whole house humidifier system beeping to let me know to change it. Lol
Yes for sure. I used it to start adding all my purchases of inventory and tracking that inventory before I was using it for "business purposes". In fact it's recommended. Inventory is much easier to handle from the get go than it is to try and backtrack it later. :)
Hello, I was wondering what your opinion of The Greatest Candle In The World would be? It is a Portugal based company that creates candles with used oils.
@@BlackTieBarn They are currently not available in stores in America. Their candles seem ecological and have undergone testing according to their site for carcinogens, allergens, and metals. I've been looking into non traditional candles and was intrigued by their product.
There really isn't one. There are tons of options. I'd focus on one neat you if possible to save on shipping. :) Check out ny supplies video where I mention several popular ones though
I use both. Starting out CB alone us fine and then turn everything over to a bookkeeping or accountant come tax time. But eventually having both is powerful for you to do your in house bookkeeping because QBO always does asset tracking, depreciation, payroll and closes out your books annually.
Don't disagree. Just sharing the resource. Like most software, tools, and even materials.... hard to get much for free (except this channel. 😉). But I don't know how well waxes or oils will work until I buy and try as well. So, as a business owner I don't kind spending a little to try something out before committing long term. The 14 days is just a little head start. But I don't disagree and wish it was longer. However, it wasn't really the main point of the video. Just an option for something to help with the management part.
