I actually think I did my first successful chain tonight. I mean, I've been trying this for awhile and was shown in person and couldn't get it. What's maddening about that is that I'm a great cross stitcher and this I could just not get. 🤦♀️ I've been doing that for a LONG time though and like you, was shown how by a loved one. Thanks for your help!!
You are an excellent instructor. Your hints are so helpful, and your explanations are so simple to follow. Thank you, thank you from an old knitter and new crocheter!!! :-)
You make such easy tutorials to follow! Thank you! I've been making tiny pumpkins for the last two days lol and made pumpkin space buns fir me and my baby daughter Wednesday. I would love to see other little tutorials if you hand can handle it. Maybe a mini cauldron bag. Anyways love all your videos you are so sweet and creative and have given me so much inspiration 💜🧡💚🖤✨️🎃🌻
Okay so it took me a few days to get the my first pumpkin figured out I’ve literally never crocheted before so i took a couple days getting used to the motions and patterns before I went all in….I made my first pumpkin last night and now I have 7 of them and now I want to make 30 of them for my kindergartener to take and give to all his class mates before Halloween 😂 needless to say great tutorial thank you 🙌🏼
Thank you for this. It was easy to follow. Would love a post about how to know how to make other sizes. Understand the process but not sure how many to chain ot how big to make, for in between sizes.
Heyyy omg I love your videos I’m gonna try making these because I am learning how to crochet and you also are so cool and pretty also I have a request for you I was wondering if you could do a living room tour so much can’t wait to have my own place to decorate❤
I am a (frustrated) beginner crocheter and those 2 tips on how to hold the working yarn and also to point the hook down when pulling through the loops was a game changer! 😮 I am taught only through RU-vid videos and that’s never been mentioned in any other beginner tutorial before so that really helped me A LOT. I’m getting so much faster and more efficient now! THANK YOU!!
omgosh i'm so glad they helped! I also just made a tutorial for beginner crocheters I hope it can help too :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q7oKdvrbbT0.html
The written pattern: Making the pumpkin: Start with orange yarn 12 chains Skip the first stich 11 hdc Chain 2, turn do hdc in blo (including the first stich Chain 2, turn Do hdc in blo (including the first stich) *repeat the process for 6 rounds* Cut your yarn, leave a tail Attach your needle Fold the pumpkin in half Start sewing the pumpkin Sewing bottom part: Weave all the way around Then pull tight Turn it inside out *Fill with stuffing* And then sew the top the same way Make a pumpkin shape: Take the needle and sew from top to bottom through the middle Fold and pull tight Make the stem: Take your dark green yarn Chain 6 Sc (6) Yarn over and pull through Attach the stem to the top
Ugh thanks so much! I couldn't tell if most of the pumpkin was supposed to be blo, or if it was hdc, hdc blo, hdc, hdc blo, alternating. This is so helpful. THANK YOU!!!
Holly, I literal just started my crocheting journey yesterday after watching your tutorial and I just wanted to thank you! I love your enthusiasm and you were very clear in your instructions and I was able to make not 1 but 2 pumpkins today. I have to admit there was a learning curve to get used to the feel of the thread and where the ends start and finish and I pulled out a lot of thread but I am very happy with my adorable pumpkins and thank you so much! I couldn’t have done this without your help! I wish there was a way to post a photo🌈
I joined your channel during the temperature blanket and I stayed for the crafts. Because of you I started to learn how to crochet!! I made several things so far and now I can’t wait to crochet pumpkins 🎃
Hi!! I'm loving this pattern so far! I'm trying to make it a big bigger (I did 30 chains) so I'm wondering how many "ridges" you would make for one of this size? So it's actually a nice, round pumpkin and not an odd size 😂
After many tries I finally could do my own tiny pumpkin and I am so happy thanks to you! I’m really grateful ❤️ For those who may be facing frustration trying to do the project, have patience! Remember this is a work that demands attention, after I had patience and attention I could do it!
Omg The best you taught me how to do pumpkin no other tutorials never ever ever ever told me how to do a pumpkin. You’re the best.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have kids and they like crocheting I’ll teach them how you talk to me that you love you
Thank you so much for tutorial. A quick ?, if we increase the chains from 12 to 24, to make a larger size, I would think we need to count 12 ridges. I was never good at math😁🤣😕. Thank you in advance.

How did this work out for you? I chained 24 to make it bigger and am on my 8th ridge... not sure about this idea... would love to know what you found!!
@@aerials_etc well my dear, I made 6 pumpkins from this pattern. My daughter took 3 and I kept 3 , however, it was 6 months ago and I don’t remember what I did, but they came out great. I’m a senior citizen, my memory isn’t great anymore. However I do plan to make more to sell at our fall festival. I will answer your question when I start making the pumpkins again. Maybe the pattern designer can tell you if that worked, if she knows , before I get to the pumpkins. I’m making Amigurumi animals right now. 😀😀
I am really grateful to you. I watched many pumpkin making videos. But I always made mistakes. Thanks to your detailed and wonderful explanation, I made my first knitting job. You are really great. Thank you❤I want more videos like this for beginners 💕💕💕🍂
Pattern so I don’t have to keep rewinding: For pumpkin: Chain 12 Hdc into second chain from hook Hdc to end of row Chain 2 Flip Blo Hdc Chain 2 Repeat till 6 ridges on each side Fold in half and sew up side Sew in and out top and secure top by sewing a cross Stuff pumpkin Sew in and out of the bottom of pumpkin and see shut Sew straight through and pull tight For stem: Chain 6 Sc a row Seal off leaving a tail Tie each tail and double knot each weave in ends Voilaaaa!!
First crotchet that I was actually able to complete. Your video was super helpful and now I have a cute baby pumpkin 🥰 How do I modify this to make the pumpkin bigger?
Thank you, I’m going to try making these pumpkins for my grandchildren . Your tutorial is so easy to understand . I can’t wait to try these thanks again 🙏
This tutorial is amazing and the instructions are so clear and simple! ❤️ My question is, if you’re making a bigger pumpkin, would you just make a few more rows of single crotchet for the stem?
i just made my second piece of crochet. thankyou, it definitely doesnt look exactly like yours, sadly it is quite different. but it still resembles a pumpkin thanks to your tutorial!!! :) im happy with it
I used paper towels for filling as you suggested, but I'm finding that I can't push the needle through thick paper towels to get that pumpkin effect. Cotton balls would be better. Starting over.
Making pumpkins for church craft sale. I HAVE A QUESTION🎃Just wondering, to do a bigger pumpkin you make a longer chain. Right? Well....How do you decide how many rolls to make? Thanks for this tutorial you make it easy, and clear instructions. 💕

Wow!! Thank you so much! This tutorial was so good! Close ups of what you were doing and clear instructions. I really think I could do this! Btw I absolutely love your channel!
@@HollyAunaI'm having trouble with the chaining 😢. The yarn keeps falling off my hook and I can't get it to go through the loop of my slip knot. I'm extremely sad because I've been trying to crochet for almost a full year now and I just can't seem to do it 😔 do you have any tips?

I’m so so glad!!!! If you’re looking for a tutorial more just about the basics too I made this one I hope it helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q7oKdvrbbT0.html
Im so confused im a beginner did what you did but its not working it doesnt look at all as seamless and straight as yours its turned into a ball as a do iy
your tutorial is the first one i could actually follow, and eventhough i got the ugliest pumpkin, i did it! i have given up on crotchet 4 times before, so this was a big success for me. thank you so much
Never crocheted in my life this was my first project. To any other beginners my struggles were with the foundation chain being tight previously and loosing track of how many double crochets I did. Don’t do that
Hey Holly! I am looking forward to making these pumpkins to get myself in the Halloween spirit. And I’m so glad your arm feels better so you can crochet again. Do you know when you are going live again? We all miss your lives soooo much! No pressure to feel the need to go live.
Yarn over, hook through back loop only, yarn over, pull through, you’ll have three pieces of yarn on your hook, yarn over and pull through all three. Hope this helps!
This was super easy to understand and follow as my first crochet project in 10 years. I had bought yarn for a different pumpkin project, and mine was considerably fluffier, less distinct, and slightly larger than yours. Overall, very happy with how it turned out! Thank you!!
I love these so much! They turn out soooo cute. I made a bunch, in a couple of sizes, and gave some to family and friends. Thank you for the excellent tutorial!
I tried this pattern when I was an absolute beginner it didn’t look that great but when I started learning more stuff about crochet my pumpkin turned out good! Thanks!
I don’t know who originally came up with the idea for the crochet pumpkin, I’ve seen so many videos of so many different people creating them different ways. I learned pieces from all the different videos and combined them/changed it to make what I thought was the easiest crochet pumpkin. Then I did a few trial and error to see how many chains and rows I wanted to do to make my little perfect pumpkins 🎃
Omg. I’ve watched hundreds of crochet tutorials and just gave up because they moved too fast or it didn’t make sense I’m a kinesthetic person and this video was perfect THANK YOU 😊. I definitely made a gourd my first time but it’ll get better 😂
Omgosh I’m so glad to hear that this helps!!! I’ve started a series of how to crochet for beginners too I hope it helps! So far I just have posted how to single crochet but how to double crochet is coming out this week :)
Apologies if this has been answered before, but how many do you chain for a larger pumpkin? Ive made the small one following this tutorial and now need to make a whole family of them ❤

Can someone help? I understand you chain 12. But how many stitches are each row supposed to be? 10, 11, or 12? I get confused where to start each row and how far to go.
Hi Holly! Question: Do you have to do a half double crochet or is the stitch customizable? Or do you HAVE to do half double? Since I have a random single crochet rectangle which would be perfect for the pumpkin! ❤❤ 🎃 Happy Fall Holly!
I would assume that as long as the stitch is closed enough to keep stuffing in (don’t use a granny stitch for example as it has holes between the stitches) and you can make a rectangle with it, then you can use whatever stitch you want. This is super customizable as it is just a rectangle that is sewn together and then gathered
