Begode EX20s 250km Review Update 

Last week I rode 67 miles on my EX20S (road only) traveling between 25-35mph the entire time. Like you I have lower back issues, there is no way I could go that long on a non-suspension wheel. I had 11% at the end of the ride and was still going 25mph when I stopped.

Thanks for the video Ian! Loving my EX20S C30, just passed 1500 miles. Good for folks with bad knees and backs....but also good for preventing said damage to knees and backs on long rides. Went on a US EUC weeklong event (WestWheel 5) and having the only suspension wheel for the long fast rides during that event was amazing. On one of the rides on a rough road, I was casually sipping coffee, and while everyone on non suspension wheels were bumping and flying around, I didn't spill a drop. This wheel indeed does everything for me too. If this wheel is too big and heavy for most people, I'm a little skeptical for the popularity of the even bigger and heavier V13 and Master Pro coming out. I'll keep this wheel for now.

Ian the man who started it all for me, I haven't rode a wheel in 14 months, like you I have back issues, after working all day then riding over a year ago, I woke up to find numbness in my feet and ankles, and the numbness never went away. Doctors found that I have 3 bulging discs in my back that are rubbing on nerves which is causing the numbness, I cant even balance myself well enough to ride anymore, even walking I look like I'm drunk, so for the safety of my body & my handsome face, I quit for a while, but sadly I think my days have come to an end. I truly believe it wasn't the wheel that led to my demise, but my job which requires a lot of heavy lifting of steel dies that produce metal parts for the company I've been with since 10/01/79 so my friend I may try to ride again, but its highly likely that I'll crash & burn at any attempt. I miss the sport terribly Ian, and envy all those who can still ride. Just wanted to tell you be careful if you wake & find numbness around your feet & ankles. You were the 1st person I saw on a wheel and inspired it all for me, then Marty & Duff, you 3 are the best of the unicycle community and are responsible for inspiring so many like myself. I'll drop in from time, to time but Im afraid it wont be like before, I miss you all, plz tell John I said hello. I wish you all well and hope all of you will ride into the future painlessly, I'll always be on the sidelines rooting for you Love you guys. 😜👍👍

Back problem like that are awful, I had them too still somewhat lesser of late, when i start feeling the initial symptoms of a pain like that in the are I push with the fist on the area for a few minutes, helps with keeping it down, like at work, also been taking turmeric instead of ibufen more natural, then I changed my beds too. from my exp this was a result of initial sudden wrong move of cold muscles and then continued movement causing the it to get worse, and yeah again it was surprisingly effective pushing in on the area while leaning backwards and rotating the hip, it kinda calmed the area down, for me atleast, doing this on and off for a minute or two, so anyway I dont get this pain so much anymore. I hope the e-rides S22 wheel im still waiting on will be sufficient for long rides, one day Id like to take a wheel on a trip on the 1337KM ringroad here in Iceland.

Suspension is the way I'm sure. I think you're expecting the S22 soon, not sure of the revisions KS have made on that since the launch, you know handle, BMS (the fire), etc. Quick update when they turn up would be good. As for Begode, well they are improving , but then they had to didn't they. The EX20s just too big. The Master well it's vs the S22 I think. The Inmotion V13 and the Master Pro well insane obviously, but more to the point, when will they ever be available. Nice area to ride for sure :-)

Ian, I definitely want one of theses. When will you be selling them. I love the Sherman I got from you, but my knees are now starting to give me grief. So it's time for a superior suspension wheel with long range.

I long for the day when the next battery technology hits that weighs a fraction of what the current tech is.

Good to be busy! 20s is simply too big I’m afraid, particularly for the lighter riders (I’m 73kg naked). That wheel controls you.

SO, I'm seriously considering the ex20s (c38) but, I'm holding out for a Sherman suspension ( if it exists) that wait will end December if no indication. How is the moisture issue for this Begode?

Do you have issues about pedal tilt when making turn?

Good review but I'd say somewhat biased. wrong way stated this wheel is not turkey at all in fact it's quite underpowered for what it is. Disappointing really and a lot slower than the Sherman Max. So then the only real reason to get it would be for the range and the suspension

The EX20s has become obsolete very fast with the announcement of the Sherman-S, Begode Master P and V13 Challenger.
