At 12:30 into the video: "...the government tries to protect people from scammers..." I was expecting the next words to be "because they hate competition" !! When I was stationed in San Diego I used to drive home (to Nebraska) once a year and I remember seeing that sign for Zzyzx road and wonder what it was. I'm glad I saw this video explaining the history of that place!!

Do you guys need a real spooky ghost story to check out? In Nevada, there is a road that while it was being built, a lot of deaths occurred. It used to be numbered US-666, but I believe it's been renumbered to US-491! A lot of truckers used to drive it at night before it was renumbered, and they had a lot of creepy and spooky ghost stories, about it!

Very nice documentary! I hadn't heard of this place or man before. In north Texas, the town of Mineral Wells was a very popular health spa in the 20s and 30s. The water that came from the natural springs do contain minute levels of lithium, and people with mental and psychological problems apparently did find some relief due to drinking the water. Today, you can find bottled mineral water from Mineral Wells, Texas, called 'Crazy Water', the same water that was claimed to cure crazy people and improve overall health. Also, there was a hotel in Mineral Wells called The Crazy Water Hotel. It later became a retirement/nursing home but I think it might be closed down now, not sure.

There were a lot of people into mineral springs and healing waters. Some of the spring have magnesium in them. Epsom salts soak work because it does absorb and help inflammation. Kellogg ... The cereal guy was into healing. Hot spring Arkansas has lots of healing springs. Missouri is home to a few as well. The Elms is a fancy hotel north of Kansas City. It still operates as a luxury hotel and spa but it started as as healing mineral springs.

The "gift of gab" is what a lot of people call it from back in the day. The ability to talk others into doing stuff they would not do. This was interesting never personally heard of this place or the person behind it's making. I know there are people that believe the hot springs are healing but to me it is like a communal bath and that doesn't interest me. Some great info about that chub fish and how inadvertently he saved them. He did some good. Thanks for sharing and have a great day
