Different languages have different pronunciations, and sometimes the native pronunciation will sound weird in those languages. If people are gonna be adamant about the native pronunciations then I strongly suggest that Americans start pronouncing "IKEA" as "eek-eh-ah", because that is much closer to the Swedish pronunciation than the americanized "eye-key-ah".

​@@Peter_1986 That's fine with normal words, or loanwords that get localized (like how many people in America say "foyer" different than the French pronunciation, or how Japanese have their own localized pronunciations of many English words) but this is literally a person's name, and there's plenty of instances of Gal saying her own name for people to reference. It's fine for some random casual viewer, but I see a lot of celebrities and hosts (that are literally talking right to her) still get it wrong, lol. I was just trying to give Conan props for actually getting the pronunciation right. It's just a basic human thing to make someone else feel comfortable, saying their name how they prefer it to be said. I am not adamant about all words magically being insanely accurate to their native pronunciations for general words or even companies/brand names, because like I said, many areas develop their own regional/localized versions of how to pronounce those words and that's totally fine and natural (just look at how the Japanese say McDonald's, for example. I have no problem for that, for the record -- just an example how things get localized.) You shouldn't however "localize" a specific person's name who you have sitting in front of you that you can ask how they prefer their name to be said, for the sake of being polite, respect, and making them feel comfortable. There's also many clips of her saying her own name interviewers, hosts (or even content creators here on RU-vid) can reference beforehand if they are unsure if they don't want to (or can't) ask her for whatever reason.
