I saw one of these machines when touring a bookbinders. A massive guard would come down before the cutter would work. What’s the safety on this one? Must you have both hands past the outer edge of the cutting table?
They claim it's safe cause you have to push two buttons or something. However I've worked 20+ years in manufacturing with machines and have seen plenty safety sensors fail. Nothing about this seems safe. He actually sticks his arm in at one point.
@@gunsmokeandghouls it works via two-hand control, not sensor. He’s wearing PPE, and appears to be operating the machine appropriately. Given appropriate machine maintenance and employee compliance with administrative controls, this doesn’t look “unsafe”.
