Some newer sounds from firmware 1.4.1 ... with names! As well as the final demo track in my original walkthrough I think these demonstrate the variety of useful vintage and more modern tones you can get from this.
*NOTE* This video was previously released on my new Starsky Sounds channel ( / @starskysounds ) which I'm using for more niche stuff like demos of patches and sample from my website - but this turned out less niche than I was expecting and some have suggested it's better placed here.
Apologies if this is confusing - I'm trying to figure out how to split output so everyone doesn't receive everything (or maybe that's the best way?)... Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks.. hope you enjoy them. Use the SYNTHTRIBE app to load them to the synth. There’s one larger file that’s the whole bank of 100 presets. If you load bank into B C or D on the synth you won’t overwrite the factory sounds. Ir you can load one at a time wherever you like.

@xnslrzn it would be useful to have two so you can play two at the same time. In sequencing, both could be on different MIDI channels playing different sounds utilizing the full 8 voice polyphony instead of splitting polyphony with one unit via its internal sequencer playing two different parts.

It's a good sounding synth, just not for me. Had they included the DM12 FX engine, it could have been something that I would have been interested in. This would have taken away the purist approach though, they made the right decision to leave off the FX section, but not the reason for me to buy.

Everything is drowned in reverb. I know what reverb sounds like, and most synth demos on YT are covered in it. I want to know what the dry synth sounds like 'cos if it needs masses of effects to sound good, I'll go elsewhere. My Waldorf M sounds fantastic without any effects and I often record it dry. Does this sound weak dry?
@StarskyCarr
@StarskyCarr Год назад
No, it sounds like the Prophet 600 - watch my other demos. I’ve got you covered there in a fair few videos already. I put the reverb in to show what the sounds will be like in the mix, which is what most ask for when listening to patches. Watch any patch bank advert and it’ll have Fx on for that very reason. I’ll upload to my other channel @starskysounds the Fx free version. Btw I wouldn’t say setting a 10-15% mix of a very standard hall reverb as drowning them.

Why, just why support Behringer? 😢
@StarskyCarr
@StarskyCarr Год назад
That’s a rather odd perspective to me. I’m helping the people that have bought it. I bought it myself solely to show if it lived up to the marketing claims … and I demo’d its shortcomings. They have since mainly been addressed, possibly in part due to my detailed comparison. Those customers now have a better product. I have sounds here that show some more range of tones that can make the experience even better for them. I’m steering clear of the rest of it. I’m just a guy with a camera - helping people to understand what they’ve spent their cash on. Im not a major marketing corporation or media empire. So many people have asked, and I even did a poll where more people wanted to see it than not. I certainly don’t want to be a punchbag in someone else’s fight, but unfortunately there are people for whom even the mention of Behringer is a cancellation offence. If I ignore them I’m ignoring the people that want to know if the products are any good. So I am becoming a punchbag, stuck in the middle. I could just drop it and go with the flow, but that leaves others in the dark 🤷‍♂️ They’re not going to stop making these things. They’re the top selling products, far cheaper than others, and as such there are lots of skint people buying them. I don’t agree with tonnes of stuff they’ve done, but also don’t agree with letting others fend for themselves either. I really don’t want music to be elitist. The little guy always gets shafted and I’m supporting all the kids that can’t afford other brands. And I know everything’s fraught with hypocrisy and double standards and there’s nothing I can say to appease anyone (if the internet has showed anything it’s showed that you’ll never change anyone’s mind). Anything I or anyone else says on any side of a discussion will be picked apart, misinterpreted, ignored, belittled etc. so whatever I do I’ll get grief from someone. Hey ho….
@UliAfroman
@UliAfroman Год назад
@@StarskyCarr I really understand your position, but I think this is part of the Problem. If RU-vidrs and other Musicians go on and support Behringer in what they do, they won't stop. And it is unnecessary if you supported Behringer in the past or future, if you say a wrong word they probably try to shut you up. In my opinion there are so much better things for people with less money to make good synth music without Behringer, and this is what should be supported more. For example GAS-Therapy, the whole Channel is about not buying expensive gear and make music anyway
@dankeplace
@dankeplace Год назад
@@UliAfroman your issue is that you're using politics to drive a narrative, where what Starsky is doing is showing people what the synth sounds like. So in a twist of irony, how B has tried to control a narrative before, you're trying to do now, so in essence, you're no better than B? Many just don't care, people just want to make music, some can't afford the real thing so just buy what they can. Do you own an Iphone?

@@UliAfroman They don't even need RU-vidrs, like at all, though I'm sure they appreciate it anyways. They have 700K people's ear on FB alone. This synth got 50K pre-orders, right after introducing it. People will still buy their gear no matter how many RU-vidrs or randoms don't like them, just like millions of people will continue to buy things they know involve slave labor or worst. People want what they want. Especially at these ridiculously good prices.
