I do not see how they will possibly be able to make enough of these. At the price I almost certainly must have 2 of them for "twin" and related bi-timbral patches and binaural stuff. Phenomenal demo.
I've got two on order, and loads of people that I've spoken to are getting at least two. Tempted to get 4 to do both binaural and bi-timbral at the same time. 😵💫
You could just buy a used prophet rev2 for not much more than 2 of these. That does bi timbral. One of these is a cheap polysynth but 2 doesn't really make financial sense.
@@uv77mc85 the cheapest I have seen 8 voice rev 2 desktops for is $1350 with a couple hundred more for 16 voice. For me personally a big draw would be having the settings for both layers (would have to be a "live" patch not just recalled) right there on the knobs in front of you. IMHO that is what could make the Super Gemini such a compelling synth among other things.
SHRED!!! I just ordered mine today! For $120 more than the Pro-1 you get patch memory, a better sounding filter (imo), CC data transmit and receive, and oh yeah I almost forgot, *8 freaking analog voices!*
Got mine for a few days - Congrats to Behringer for this beautiful Synth - Have a Prophet 600 Gligli in my Studio, but no time for a comparison... 😂 Nice Vic Bernd !
Actual question, is there nothing in the vst world in ableton or Logic Pro that does what this does? Or is more about the hands on experience? Because that’s my biggest pet peave with ableton is that I feel disconnected at times. But ya, is there a vst that can do what this does?
As if you listened to what I have to say ;-) Great synth, probably the best polyphonic synth you can get for the money. Show me any other great sounding 8 voice polyphonic fully analog synth for 389€ and I'll buy it.
@The Synth King Thank you,Sir! A good, non-biased review. I could listen to the sounds. I know the Prophet 6. You do also, however, you have the Pro-800 in front of you. I have 4 Behringer synths, the Poly D, the VC-340, the Deepmind 12, and a Neutron, which I use with a Moog Grandmother. I could make an educated guess, but it's always better to hear it from someone that has experience with the synth itself!
Thank you so much for this video, gets me by when I wait for my one from Thomann. I am currently in the UK. Thomann have been very unclear about what sort of power supply it comes with. Please may I ask you if your one came with a wall wart (psu integrated into the plug) or is it a laptop style “brick” with a dc wire going from brick to synth and a detachable mains lead going to mains wall socket? If it’s the latter, I can simply replace the standard mains lead with a UK one, but if it’s a wall wart, I’ll be stuck with a wobbly push-on adaptor, which I don’t want. Any clarity on this would be very helpful. Also please may I ask which country you’re in please? Many thanks. Liked and subscribed.
@@Bernd_Bruening amazing, thank you so much for the rapid reply. Can I just ask does the mains lead attach to the power supply brick using a figure 8 connector, and if so, do you think I would just be able to replace that lead with one that has a figure 8 connector one end in the UK mains plug at the other? Many thanks once again
It's an extremely affordable heritage sound, can the pan mod be retro fitted or are we stuck with using external fx? B are slow to market but people are willing to wait, happy times for many...
@@Bernd_Bruening I think I was hinting to the Gligli mod for the 600, there was talk of this on GS. True mono vs stereo, I guess I am spoiled when I tinker with my Rev 2 and DM12D. I love I can work with my sound bouncing around in the filed in the synth. I have enough pedals to work with the 800 though, thx for the upload!!!
@@georgegeez8708 does it come with the voice pan mod though? As I understand there was something that allowed you to be able to do a voice pan spread per note basis?
@@dankeplace To be honest, I'm not sure. Only the people who already have it and understand it can answer that question. All in all, I can't wait to buy one in the future here in the States.
It sounds objectively good and in the prophet ballpark. Probably the best Poly Behringer has done until now. Though it still has that Behringer "liquid" characteristic on every sound. I tried the 600, own p5 rev4 and just bought the incredible Softube Model 80. (Best Poly vst ever made for me , it's 90% There) . For 400usd, if I want characteristic and organic sound I d go for the Dreadbox Nymphes (too bad the panel)
@@Bernd_Bruening I personally recognise it on every single synth from Behringer. I really can’t say what is that determines it. On the Behringer synths it feels like it doesn’t matter what you do, the tone has always the same “flavor” in the end , which is some kind of buzzy liquidity (don’t know how else to describe it ) . I have experienced the same with the prophet rev2 in comparison to the 6 and the 5. Rev2 keeps a quite uncharacteristic tone , doesn’t matter what you do . With the prophet 5 for example , simply by testing presets you feel like each preset is like a sweet spot of the instrument . So like very many sweet spots ,not the same with Behringer for me.
@@MrThecarrott Hmm, I can't share your impression but respect your opinion. All these things a highly subjective and cannot be generalized. Some people say that e.g. the Jupiter 6 sounds cold and thin. Well, the sounds I made for my JP6 are everything else but not cold and thin. Just check it out and you know what I mean. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zNZIHl8bB0A.html
There aren't any tuning issues. It's very stable after about 10 minutes of warming up. You can choose between three settings how accurate the built in tuning function tunes the 8 voices. Another parameter is called "voice spread", simulating inaccuracy of the 1V per octave settings per voice. Amazing!
Behringer worst company, how dare they make 8 voices of VCO analog accessible to noobs...now us rich guys who spent house payments on analog synths won't have any advantage over noobs any more. Behringer needs to be stopped.
@@synthsamuraiproductions They always release their stuff in Europe first to work the bugs out before they sell it in more important areas of the world.
Very pleasant. After about 10 minutes you can forget the tune button. For this demo video (all in all about 30 minutes) I did not even hit the tune button a single time.
It's great to check that Behringer finally has implemented a usable arpeggiator. The original by Gligli was terrible. Good move, Behringer! Now improve the LFO and the envelopes and the Pro-800 will be the synth of the decade.
Nice Demo! Do you have any problems with the unit? HOw does your unit behaviour with the perf mode? Does it also goes back in the preset instead of staying in the edited preset when you try to go out of the perf mode?
I had some issues..my Pro800 just jumps out of its presets bank (for example I’m working on A67 (or P800..)it suddenly jumps to another bank..A99..I don’t get it..did I do something wrong or is my unit messed up? Mine arrived two days ago..thinking about returning it if it stays the same
Sounds great! How do you think it compares to the Deepmind12, if you've had a chance to play one? (would it be redundant?) Also, is it mono or Stereo out? I noticed only one output.
@@xntricity6446 not hung out was just looking for clarification when he mentions “voice spread”. Wasn’t sure if that was related to stereo field spread. The synth sounds fantastic.
I bought the synth from Thomann and received it yesterday. I haven't been a member of the beta test team and didnt work on any patches beforehand. I quickly went through the factory bank and decided to make a few custom sounds for my video. They won't be included.
Can it do the bell type sounds that the Prophet 5 can do with the poly mod section or is it a bit more sonically limited than the Prophet 5 on this front? Great demo!
It has got the polymod section, but the Prophet 5 and the Pro 600 are different synths soundwise. I need a bit more time to explore the Pro 800. Maybe I'm going to do a comparison with my P5 rev.3
Sorry sorry sorry I thought you said "I got it as a birthday present for my girlfriend" (assumed you were joking) and actually laughed out loud. Something to consider for the future though haha
Great video and great playing. did you record this through speakers? Or daw? because what I’m hearing through my car stereo is the synth sounds very thin which im Hoping is not the case but what do I really expect for $400? Thank you
I ordered from Thomann Germany. They told me that I was among the 10 first people having ordered the synth. The first batch was sold out in a few minutes.
What’s better for one isn’t for the other. Subjective term. I think my system 8 is better than the Juno 60 I used to have. But most people think that’s a really bad take 😂
