how would i go about doing this??? is there any tutorials you could link me to? id love to try

@@House._.OfDolls Actually yeah, just use the search function here in RU-vid, and search Berheinger VD400 Vintage mod, and it will show up ;) If for some crazy reason it's gone, here's how you do it; pop off the plastic cover and you will see the pot sockets for the nobs right on the very top, where you would expect to find them. Take a standard screwdriver and fit it snug into the middle of the far left pot that controls the time, and twist it about a quarter turn to the left. Just be careful not to turn too far; you'll feel the right spot. And that's it. Put your cover and knobs back on and you're done. It's kinda crazy how it works, and do keep in mind you will loose that time you grab from the top end, but it's hardly noticeable, and who plays delay with the ms cranked anyway? There ya go, good luck, it's super easy ;)

I would like to use it as a cheap double tracker - any chance I'll get it shorter too?

@@natanvance You would have to experiment, but I would think not. If it's got the slack to go longer, I'd think it wouldn't have play on the higher end, but I can't be positive sorry. Good luck tho!

@@JeighNeither Thanks for getting back on my question Jeigh. I'll give it a try! For the money they go it's definitely worth a shot and if it doesn't work out it's still a decent analog delay.

its a 20 dollar delay and you just watched him bend down to do anything with his hands

Not sure if you're being serious, but yeah, it could replicate that delay.

AVA using digital delays

You can use it for vocals if you plug your mic into a mixer with an effects loop. Plug the effects send into the input of the pedal and the return into the output.

It's not really recommended tho. Most pedals crossover okay, but with a mic, you are dealing with a more fragile feedback loop, & it's better to get a delay made specifically for the mix, or vocals imo. It can be done, but you're going to have deal w/ muddyness, as well as the obvious; feedback. You'll spend more time than you want, bent down, & having to dial back what you're doing depending on the sonic environment around you, which can be very difficult for a vocalist that needs to be on the mic.
