Use it after ehx Germanium Overdrive for 60s sid barret, beatles ect. It makes short echo reverb like, surf too, $25. Excellent!

you sold me on this pedal, but honestly i wish you would have a lot more pauses and stacatos in your playing so we can really hear the delay more

Great review. I bought a VD400 about a week before this review was posted to use with my tiny Marshall practice amp. The price was nice, and it's actually better than I expected it to be, but I only have it set to a subtle setting to compensate for the lack of reverb with said amp.

Enjoyed the demo. I was considering purchasing one, so tuned in first. You have proven it to perform well and to have versatility, despite it's humble looks...then again it's a humble price too... so happy days. I shall definitely add one to my pedal board. Thanks for the heads up. I don't have any problems with Beringer at all, they work well in line with my Boss pedals a treat. Who cares what they look like if they're putting out??? See you again. Salutation, i am that i am. Awesome demonstration of this particular little pedal. i am love how it shows the expensive amplifier head at 00:40 seconds then the cheapest decent pedal anyone can barely afford in real life at 00:42 seconds. It is great for a budget since a delay pedal is a must have for any guitar. Now i just hope it lasts. Definitely need a noise gate also, however i would not skimp on budget with that device. Note there are cheaper, however behringer has ok quality for an ok price usually workable and functional just don't expect the best cleanest sounds definitely, i am like 6 degrees pedals i just found them around boss price budget.

I like the sound of this pedal. Not too bright, softer sounding than some of the budget pedals I've tried (the Kmise analog delay screams even with the mix all the way down). The softness of the tone kinda reminds me of the FAB echo? I hope I can get the sound I want out of it; I'll be ordering Behringer pedals when I get my stimulus money.

Hey I know this vid is two years old but there is a cool easy mod you can do the lengthen the delay time.....just type the pedals name and mod in RU-vid search and you will find the vid. Literally just pop cover off and turn a screw that's it

I found out about behringer pedals looking for a blues overdrive pedal and came across that JHS video demoing it next to the vintage Japan where they sound exactly the same. Next thing I know I have the delay, chorus, overdrive, tremolo, eq and tuner. $150 later all I need is distortion and I have my dream pedal board.

I watched his video as well Frank, excellent honest approach, from someone who stands to loose a lot from Behringer. I have this pedal, vibrato and the BEQ700 (it has a wider frequency range than the guitar EQ) I use them for noise table top performance, but TBH As long as you don't jump on them they work on guitars good enough. You could, at this price try mounting them in a proper hammond aluminium enclosure. A great way to get into building your own pedals.

It's a great pedal. The easy to do modification to extend the delay time makes it much more versatile for dotted eighths as well.

@@Pitchuga I bought it to do some U2 songs and was gonna send it back because the delay was too fast. Its fine if you adjust the small dial on the inside.

I wish Behringer would resurrect the EM600 Echo Machine. Don't know why they discontinued it. I bought one used for $40, then six months later sold it when I bought a TC Nova System. The tap tempo, adjustable modulation, and reverse modes were really valuable to me. Now that my old Nova System is dead, I wish I could find another EM600, but that's like panning for gold. :(

Behring pedals are like a fanfare for the common man. Is there any good reason to pay 5X the price of this pedal for another? Probably not for the majority of us.. Behringer supplies a sensible alternative to the idiocy of capitalism itself, by simply minimizing profit as the primary driver behind production.This product line in the musical instrument business is analogous to solar power vs the petrochemical industry. The long standing notion that what society needs must naturally be made more and more expensive to be worthwhile is an idea on its last legs.

I've never really been a fan of Behringer pedals, they tend to be uninspiring and dry, but the price point is awesome. I just recently purchased a Strymon el Capistan and that may be one of the best delays I've ever heard.

You can't beat it for the price as long as the pedal meets your needs. There are many more expensive delay pedals out there that have more options for anyone who feels they need more.

Yeah. I have been thinking of upgrading to something like an MXR Carbon Copy but every time I go back and use my VD400 it doesn't really seem like I need anything else. Thanks for commenting!

I just got the Line 6 M5 Check it out. I got it to use in my loop on my Peavey 6505+ 112 Combo. That way I can use the reverb on the amp and delay from the M5. Sounds Great. Only $130.00 Thanks Budz.

The distortion part of it lacks imo, but for the money and what you get from this pedal is awesome. The tones sound great and can be dialed in to get it just the way you want. There are plenty of reviews give it a look. This one pedal saved me at least 500.

So you decided to make a video in which, 80% of the time, we can’t even hear the pedal at work because it was drowned out by fuzz and heavy backing tracks. Then you blamed the pedal. Maybe not an evolutionarily stable strategy.
