@@DroseraNara The way I've seen it broken down is that geeks are people into media that is outside the norm like comics, games, sci-fi/fantasy, etc. Being a nerd is more like someone who wants to just know just about everything they can about particular subjects. You can be a nerd about almost anything. Nerds are the type of people who will tell you every single song/album the Beatles ever released along with every amusing anecdote that was ever put into an interview.

@@brucewayne4585 while I cant speak to her experience in my case it was a lot of bullying. I was from a dirt poor family and usually the only native so i got it alot. And being in a rural area I got a lot of racism shoved my way as well. Its pretty bad when even the teachers call you a squaw or pochahontas, doubly so when im a dude.

Because both are true. There's much more to it than this of course, but racists criticized him for being black as a candidate, then justified his win with "well really he's half white"....while other people tried to downplay his blackness as a candidate to make him more palatable to racists, then celebrated his win as "first black president". Not actually that simple, but illustrates my point

I had the exact opposite experience. I was the only white girl in my class for about 5 years, teachers asked us what our favorite songs were and most kids in my class just named some of the most popular pop and rap songs that were on the radio, while i was the only person to name a Classic Rock song, Eye of the Tiger, my teacher thought i meant roar by katy perry...
