Great Clip. I used to have my David Clarks Headsets tight to the ears, mic close to the mouth, and avionics master on and yell as loud as I could out the window "CLEAR PROP" and that would drive my instructor Marcum crazy. Funny habit to break on a new pilot. That brought back funny memories.

First time I've seen 430 start. Nice. When you started flying, I thought you might fly in south louisiana for oiil companies, but, I've never seen Bell 430's flying down here.

Thanks for watching! Not sure if there are any flying to rigs anymore, but I think a few law enforcement 430's may be down in that area. The water in my videos is flying over the Great Lakes. No off-shore rig experience, but maybe in the future!

@@adrionaviation - If you ever do think about the Gulf rig helo ops, get your dunk and roll upside down underwater egress chops up to speed in the pool tank, aka HUET! Nice videos too BTW. I've long had the helo bug as a fixed winger but can't afford both.

@@Nfarce Thanks for the comment! Yeah I've seen videos but never been through HUET! Would definitely be an awesome experience. We attend Flight Safety in Lafayette, LA, and rumor has it that they will be adding HUET to their services in the future. They're all fun, what are you flying now?

Thanks for the comment! It's actually pretty funny how quickly you get used to it! When I first started flying the 430, I thought it would feel very odd, but after a few hours, I didn't even notice it!

How many helicopters have collectives like that? Is it just the big Bell helis?

This is actually the only one that I know of with this set up! Lots of larger twin engine helicopters have vertical twist grip throttles on the collective, not horizontal. Or the throttle levers are above the pilot's head. Thanks for the comment!
