I’m comparing 4 different belly bands based on 5 criteria: comfort, movement, concealability, functionality, and safety. I rate them all from 1-5 on each criterion and let you know what I like and dislike about each! Please keep in mind that everyone’s body type is different. I have viewed dozens and dozens of belly band videos, focusing on those that evaluate and rate products. You are far and away the best reviewer on RU-vid. Your presentation is based on experience, product quality and other factors important to a buyer. Most of the reviewers are poorly prepared and even worse at presenting the product in a thorough and useful manner. Your evaluation process is reasonable, fair, informative and extremely useful. I trust your opinion more than any other reviewer I have seen. Please keep doing a great job for us.

I very much love the fact that she demonstrates that the "soft" holsters are NOT safe from negligent discharges. I see too many people review these cheap Amazon belly bands as being the best thing ever, when I would never carry in something like that. Alien Gear makes an excellent belly band that's like neoprene scuba material (not stretchy nylon) that stays put and uses a normal IWB kydex holster, meaning you only need to own one holster for both belly band carry and belt carry. Excellent video and very well presented.

I came here looking for this answer. Most belly bands I see are stretchy and soft and I wondered how that would protect the trigger from snagging

Once it’s taut and under a hard belt, the trigger would not be moved from the outside. The greater danger is something within the pocket.

Thanks for this! In particular thank you for introducing me to the Tactica band. It has the fastest, safest, most natural draw IMHO. Being at that extreme cant, you get a good grip right away, won't get hung up on your shirt, and the band won't pull up if your waist is narrower than your hips. It's the only band I'd rate as truly safe to draw one-handed (or re-holster as you mentioned). One-handed use is a factor too many people neglect to consider. Someone could be grabbing you, or your other hand might be needed for your child, your door, your car, or a hundred other possibilities.

I believe Can Can is now shut down. Their website shows nothing in stock and they said all their manufacturing equipment has been moved out of their facility. And don't bother is Tactica. I ordered it, wore it 3 days and the stitching is coming out letting the elastic thread also release. Great concept but horrible workmanship. I received it on 7/17/23 and returned it on 7/23/23.

Thank you for rating with categories and numbers in each. One comment about the Tactica, which I bought on advice from a veteran female shooter. For those of us with a little extra weight in the tummy or waist thickening that comes with age, the Tactica’s good cant for draw becomes bad for concealment. I only wear it to walk in the country where concealment doesn’t matter. Plus one of the screws holding the Kydex holster has fallen out after only four or five uses. Just a Tactica opinion from a 70 year old. (I am 5’5” tall and weigh 135 pounds.)

I use the crossbreed belly band with my G43 and it works great. I can wear it under scrubs or under and dress shirt and the gun is completely concealed. I usually wear a t-shirt under my holsters to help with movement and to keep holsters from digging into my skin.

Been using the deep concealment belly band by ComfortTac for two years with my Shield 9mm or G27. Has worked for me very well during long walks and with shorts and tees. Good review, thank you.👍🏽

Just found your channel and subbed immediately. Just learning after going through conceal and carry class and getting certified. I was torn between the shield and the bodyguard being new I got the bodyguard for an edc. I will be getting the shield too before too long for target and range. I want to become proficient with both. I have both and usually only pocket carry, so the BG .380 is it most of the time. Of course the Shield is a better caliber and holds more rounds (especially the Shield Plus!). Considering buying a belly band and would probably go with the Tactica. I already have a lot of "bulk" below my. navel so the higher position looks better for me. Safety is #1 for me, too.

Hey I've been looking into these and thought about doing that to cause having that strap you have to unbutton is the dumbest thing I've ever seen but if you don't strap it then the gun will slide out of the unmolded holster. Has that been working out for you good? I carry shield 9mm with molded holster and thinking about buying the comforttac

I have an AIWB holster for my EDC but when I work I have to lift my hands over my head a lot and it pulls my shirt up to much I wonder if I could combine the two like that

Thanks for this! I've realized I need options. Initially I was only going to purse carry and I probably still will, but want to carry on body too and there are so many options. Was originally going to go with Crossbreed (already have the holster for purse carry) but this changes my mind.

You should never purse carry!! Even if you have too wear your gun under your close and can't get to it until your close have been torn off! Always keep your gun on your body!! A purse or bag of some kind makes it easier to to disarm you!!

I purchased my wife the Can Can off of the recommendation of Patriot Nurse. It seems to be the most comfortable as the material feels nice, & with the faux satin lace up, as well as the thinner, & least bulky cut it is the most feminine of the four you showed. The build quality seems great, & the rare earth magnets in the pouches that aid in retention is a plus, as is the extra pockets for mags, phone, knife etc. It is a great value. My only concerns is the minimal trigger protection, & would prefer a shell so that the pistol can be reholstered without the need of another hand, or digging around with the muzzle.

So so helpful. I use crossbreed minituck for my shield but sometimes the belt system is too warm for humid ohio. I am really interested in the can can but the lack of a trigger guard is a concern. I wonder if a raven concealment trigger guard could be used with it?

I agree with your Crossbreed evaluation. I ended up repurposing the kydex holter portion and mounted it to my lower truck dash. The holster itself has good retention and I am happy with it in the truck, but the universal system is bulky and as you said, not that comfortable or secure from movement.

I've been looking for a conceal carry holster to wear while hiking the remote trails of GA but could not find any good options for my P365XL. I want something comfortable to wear with shorts, sweats, etc... year round. I was happy to find your review and learn about this option that I hadn't considered. I went to CanCan's website and liked their sport belt model called the Hero. It has a zipper pocket and allows for two handguns to be carried. What is really neat is that these built in "holsters" can be modified so I ordered the Hero belt with the front pocket designed to accomodate the P365XL with only a XL tactical rail attached and then had the back pocket modified to accomodate the XL with a Olight Baldr Mini attached for night carry. Two birds with one stone! Oh yeah, and I gota the 15% discount. Thanks!

One of the most important things about any holster (especially a belly holster) are what I call "fall tests", and how secure the guns are retentioned in the holster. If you get pushed or knocked down, will the gun fall out??? If someone one tries to grab it off of you, how hard would it be???? I see these kinds of tests and theories neglected on a lot of belly holster review videos. Thanks for the review, will be looking into the Tactics a little more. Edit: Nevermind the Tactica. Only made for women..🙄

Very helpful. I don't like bellybands that don't provide an area for magazines. With many smaller carrys having a 6 round load, it would not be smart not to have a backup mag or gun, at least that's my opinion. Thank you for sharing. Sweet puppy!

Some excellent points you brought up on those! Great review and rating system you used! Shows the thought you put into this! You know if you wanted to be a bit of an entrepreneur, here is an idea for ya. Some sort of clip system to hold those bands in place well that attaches to ones pants. As I was watching that video I noticed all of those had some bit of movement to em when you drew. Perhaps you should design your own brand? Using the best of all of them? All of your points about each holster are legit, and reasonable. That puppy is adorable too! But of course you are as well too! As always thank you for your time and efforts! Great job!

I have the Tactica & love it. 1) bcs it holds the gun at the angle! 2) it can be pulled up on the rib cage more. 3) good purchase on the grip .. ALL points you made. HOWEVER lost 10 #'s & wearing at waist I just realized the velcro sticky does NOT go all the way around. Now it's too big to snug it. But I found having the bottom inch of the shell area inside my jeans pulls it in a bit & allows me to do wear it on the lower side. IF ONLY I could get it for M&P 22 compact ... 😕

Excellent presentation. I would choose the Tactica, except they don't accommodate the Bersa or Keltec. All my carry pistols are Bersa and Keltec. Besides that, I prefer an off-white color. Black prints through some Summer shirts.

@@johnyracercat For me I am concerned with how different types of clothing LOOK. For example,, I'm an apple shape and belts are very unflattering on me so I don't wear them. For pocket carry, which I prefer, the pockets on many women's pants are very tiny. Also some styles like leggings don't lend themselves to waistband carry. Mostly a problem because of body shape and fashion choices.

Pretty darn thorough review. I'm researching some options for the wife. She likes revolvers. Have you tried any wheel guns in any of the belts you presented? Would be interested on your opinion on those fitting in the holster pocket.

I have the Tactica Defense belly band. I am righty but I prefer a behind the back draw. My body type is works best for concealment. So I purchased the left hand band and spun it around to my back. Works wonders! I really like it. I do want to try the Can Can as well! Thank you for the reviews 😁

I have the crossbreed too. I wear mine a lot lower on my hips, under my jeans. Paired with a belt on top it reduces the movement of the band, but you do have to wear an undershirt.

I'm so torn on the belly bands because I have a little bit a belly. The tactical one looks the best however it's hot out and hard for me to conceal unless it's on my waistband which is super uncomfortable
