Hello! My name is Stavroula (but you can call me Stav) and this is my channel She Equips Herself! I have always had a passion for sharing my knowledge with other women, and creating videos has become my favorite way to do it!
My channel focuses on concealed carry, firearm instruction, and lots of other things relating to personal safety.
If you'd like to contact me, feel free to send an email to SheEquipsHerself@gmail.com!
You're shooting left because you have too much trigger finger through the housing. Back your finger off to the center of the pad on your finger tip. You're using the bend/knuckle area. That will always make you shoot left. Or don't 😂
I use the pad of my index finger on the trigger (except on some revolvers). Many others have had the same issue with the BG2.0 shooting left so I don’t think that’s it. But I appreciate your kind suggestion and comment :)
I own the bodyguard and I tried to use Underwood ammo (the style that looks like a Philips screw driver head). I had three failures to feed out of one box of 20 because of that feed ramp and edges on the bullet tip. Just fyi
I’m late to the party but my wife just started carrying and that lead me here. I hate a safety and think it gives new gun owners a false since of security. Proud to say her pistol does NOT have a safety!
Regular range shooting is step 1. Getting comfortable with the gun, learning how to use it, how to aim, how to clear malfunctions, etc. After that, you have to take self defense specific classes and do self defense training. So important.
Have you tried or evaluated any of the fluted nose design. Like the Underwood Xtrem Defender. They have good penetration and do not rely on expansion. Which is great for slower caliber like .380 . Would like to hear you opinions after evaluating those round. If possible try it on some ballistic gel.
Anyone know why my bodyguard 2.0 jams with fmj and I have to smack the bottom of the mag to make it go into battery, but it runs perfectly with hollow point? I’ve ran about 150 rounds and almost every mag with fmj jams.
At the 8:39 mark, the Bodyguard seemed to shoot some keyholes at the 2 o’clock area. Was that a consistent issue? My wife has a S&W 380EZ that we found one brand of ammo consistently shot keyholes at a variety of ranges.
Why do you carry FMJ? I heard I should carry FMJ in the Winter since in a self defense situation it can go through thicker clothing then in summer carry Hollow points.is this true?
Like nI said once before, "This is Not a Target Gun"! This gun is designed for use as a self defense carry gun, Period! Flat nose bullets are Garbage and really don't have an advantage in any hand gun! IMO, Good round nose ammo should be OK for all your self defense needs and not worth the money! The sights on this gun are lined up at the factory and can be verified by shooting from a Hand Rest and you should not be required to mess with them! I love Glocks and I carried a G19 as my Duty Weapon for over 15 years but as for this Bodyguard 2.0, I take this gun over the Glock! Thanks for the Video!
Weird title, weird question. As Christians, we must defend ourselves, our families and other innocent people, but not attack others or even antagonize others into attacking us. Be kind and polite, and be ready for the unfortunate. I love your explanatin/presentation. Sadly, so many good people in other countries like mine (Canada), we have been stripped of our right to carry guns or any weapons, making us subjects of the Crown, not Citizens with full freedom. God bless America and 2A.
Ever go to an IDPA match? It would be perfect for practicing with your concealed carry setups, testing rounds, and making you clear jams under pressure (clock is ticking), shooting in different scenarios is fun.
*G42 vs. G43* Like to see a shootout between a G42 using the Hornady 380 Auto 90 gr FTX Critical Defense load (200 ft-lbs) and a G43 using the Hornady 9mm Luger 100 gr FTX Critical Defense Lite load (281 ft-lbs), using magazines fitted with a GeePlate magazine floor plate. I see both can be fitted with the NY 1 Slim trigger spring, but only the G43 can be fitted with the Slim Frame version of the LTT Striker Control Device.
have you guys tried lehigh defense or underwood ammo 68 grain loads? that’s all i shoot through my g42. light recoil, but plenty of velocity and fluid displacement make up for “not hollow point” performance.
Not the biggest fan of the hellcat. Don’t hate it, just don’t shoot as good as I’d want to with it. I have a Shield 40 and it’s basically the exact same dimensions and weight as a Shield Plus and I shoot it better then the hellcat despite being a beefier round. Not sure how they do it, but S&W just make really flat-shooting pistols despite the small size, as even converting my 40 Shield to 357 Sig still shoots pretty well
When you speak of trigger control, I was later trained to use the center of your trigger finger "pad". Before I was taught this, I had the same problem - only I was shooting low and left because my finger was too deep on the trigger and when I squeezed the trigger, there was a natural tendency to pull left and low. When I used the center of my pad, you"re pulling the trigger straight back and there was a dramatic improvement in accuracy. I was noticing that your trigger finger is deep like mine was. Just thought I would add that as food for thought.
Permanent wrist injury so looking for easiest racking, trigger, and loading but stopping power for hiking with bears and cougars ;). Looking at Walther Ccp and S&W EZ. I have the Ruger LCP 380 but caused a lot of wrist pain.
Good catch on the flat nose not feeding. I use them in .380 from Freedom, so I definitely want to check this out. Also, mine tends to shoot left also. PS - I subscribed so I can get my wife to watch.
How hard is it to run the slide? I picked up a Shield a few years back for my wife but she finds it hard to run the slide. I was considering picking up a Shiled EZ for her but after seeing the Bodyguard I was wondering if it is a possibe option for her.
On my BG 2.0 the front sight was drifted a fraction of a mm to the right, making all my shots hit slightly left. I would have assumed it was me if I hadn't already read a post about somebody else having the same issue and so I checked it with a caliper and sure enough. I don't have a sight pusher but it was nothing a punch and few light hammer taps couldn't fix.
My personal opinion is that the Glock 42 is completely pointless. Every other manufacturer makes a 380 for its intended purpose - to be a small pocket gun. The Glock 42 and 43 are nearly identical in physical size. The 43 shoots the better performing and cheaper 9mm round which automatically makes it a better gun than the 42 if everything else is equal. I just bought the Bodyguard 2.0 but have not been to the range yet to try it. It has a superior trigger than every Glock on the market as Glock triggers are the absolute worst.
The Glock 42 definitely feel smaller than the 43 and it fits in a pocket just fine. I feel like the 42 is the Goldilock size. You can pocket carry it, but it’s large enough that it shoots really really well. Any recall at all. I can just about shoot it just as well one hand that is two-handed. Follow up shots are so easy because they’re so little. That’s the point of the gun.
I learned when I was a kid not to point the sharp end of scissors at other people, and to hand them to someone blunt side towards them. I can't imagine being stupid enough to point a gun at someone else.
