Even though this may be one of the easiest Munros in Scotland, the correct precautions should always be taken when heading into the mountains 🏔.. Hope you enjoy the video, Cheers, James

Did this with my 7 year old daughter. Fantastic wee hill for everyone to enjoy. Usually the car park is crammed though!

Glad you added this James, it is straightforward if the conditions and skills / experience combine to make it that way. I've been up there is howling wind and v poor visibility which made it challenging. Also tried to get up via the alternative route and were beaten back by huge snow drifts. It is a cracking summit view down Loch Turret Reservoir.

I was at a Tayside mountain rescue talk recently and they said this is one of the hills where they get the most call outs on!

Respect to this man for freezing his ass off on a mountain summit to get such long and intricate camera clips. Having been to the Lake District during Winter on the high points, you usually have five minutes to stand around to admire the views before the cold forces you to move.

Haha I was pretty cold after waiting around at the top for a bit, always worth it to get a few clips though 🤣 Cheers, James

Did this hill in late October a while back. Reached the summit ridge and to my surprise I was greeted with a large drove of nonchalant, slow moving mountain hares. It really was extraordinary as I parted through them. Both parties acknowledging each other but somehow knowing each others designation. Chonzie is the highest point in that area and gave the feeling of natures expectation for autumns first snow. Added melancholy to the season and to an overcast day. Great day and was anything but boring.

I also seen a fair few White Hares, didn’t manage to catch any on camera unfortunately 😂

50 to go. Well done. If you’ve not done Ben More on Mull, which many leave until last, could I recommend doing it via the a Chioch ridge rather than the trudge up the “tourist path.” It reveals the true glory of this Munro which you have to climb from sea level. Best of luck with the last 50.

Ben Chonzie was one of the munros I done last year, though from Loch Turret, great walk in and out and little scramble nearing the top, much better route I think in drier conditions... 50 more to go! Welldone...

Hallo James, this one wasn‘t very rewarding, was it? I started freezing while watching you „resting“ at the summit… anyway: thank you ever so much for posting, always a joy! And the two photos from the summit looked quite nice and atmospheric!

Great video! Ben Chonzie is a munro I tried last summer, but it was just too hot (25+ degrees), so I bailed and climbed up to the south side of the plateau instead to head down. Hoping to get it bagged this year!

50 to go , well done 👍 It is a popular hill, parking isn't good at the weekends. I did it in the snow and it definitely wasn't boring.. Pity you got some clag the views are ok 👍 Think my dullest Munro ( I won't say boring 😅) has to be Geal Chàrn (Monadhliath), up and back to the car in 3hrs . You must have done more in the area , all that way for Chonzie 😅

Thank you, I can imagine the parking being crazy in the summer months.. yes that is up there with the dullest.. No I only had Chonzie to do 🤣 the nearest ones to that are now Creag Mhor and Heasgarnich in Glen Lyon, I will save that for when we get more daylight 😁Cheers, James

I am surprised at your 6 as I thought your scores were greatly swayed by the weather. I did thie sirst from Glen Almond which was really pleasant. I am not a fan of hard tracks but I did once blow away the cobwebs after a day of indoor meetings. I had 1 and a quarter hours of usable daylight and enjoyed a hard run up to the top and back in drizzly weather which I enjoyed a lot.

This was my first Munro and had almost the exact same experience on Ben Chonzie, got to the top and cloud came in and couldn't see a thing. I think I was up Schiehallion on the same day as this video, and the wind chill was brutal as well -16 with a lot of ice!

Not so easy if you want to descend from the summit to Loch Turret. There is a nasty area of peat hags to the south between the summit and Pigeon Burn. You could easily fall into Loch Turret in winter conditions.

Nice part of the world, James! I wonder if the relativey low summit and the fact the plateau is covered with vegetation attracts the clag a bit more? I mean, compared to the higher, rockier Munros, these surfaces are damper and possibly warmer, to start with and, with there being lochs or reservoirs on three sides, there could be a lot of rising dampness, know what I mean?
@ScottishMunroJourney

I think you could be right Paul, it was one of the only summits in the area in the clag 😁
