Ben Duerr's skill is insane. The fact that he continues to do downhill skating to this level is practicality a miracle. Great video, Powell Peralta team.👍
Thank you much much! I strive to be as consistent as possible. Powell Peralta Dragons make sending it significantly easier for me. I don’t have to go nearly as fast to slide twice as far. This formula is what I needed!
This was completely and totally insane, I loved every microsecond. Brought a tear to my eye. So refreshing to see this sort of thing on a sensibly-sized double kicker. Wish I could b/s powerslide more like that. What a bloody weapon this guy is. Love the VHS intro, this video is too cool on every level.
If you want more of gnarly double kick downhill action Eric Jensen from Comet skateboards has dope videos that you can dig up. Can't believe that shit was nearly 10 years ago.
The autumn trees with their yellow and brown colours look amazing. I used to love Hill bombing down Hyde Park in Leeds most days to and from work. The ride to work was a 2-and-a-half-hill bomb into Leeds, and the return journey was even better, with an amazing skate spot at uni with perfect 200-meter quarter pipe banks being a highlight. There were also concrete benches and curved benches, and the steps, rails, drops, and curbs all on a massive uni campus down the park and finished at my house, which was at the park. It was like a skating dream where you see perfect spots and you are just going and going, but this was real .
@dfpguitar Yeah, it's worth it . Security is tighter now . I started skating when city centres used to be shut on Sundays and all the skates used to travel city to city as you had free access to the whole city without much push back . I'm still skating in my 40s and have been skating some 26 years or more. So I'm happy with a curb 'slappy' and skate park pools. we have a great one in the Works skate park, which is as skater for many a year, I own the guys and a few people on the board for trustees so a small number get to go after hours late into the night. That's my lot these days ,but I still go to Hyde Park skate park and ask a few locals whose spots are still good. But the hill bomb from Hyde Park rear right to city Square in Leeds is still good .
George Powell delivering the dragon formula to the public changed skateboarding forever! Ben with this extraordinary ability to balance just about any surface with reinforced confidence by using the latest in technology. Thank you for making these quality films so That we may view them for the rest of our lives.
Neither. This is a follow car run, the rig has suction cups to the hood or the side of the car and masses of duct tape.. Powell Downhill Division is where it's at!!
I remember skating down hills in North Vancouver BC in the 80s. It was so much fun. Slowing down on the grass! I never was as fearless as you. Wow! I had a Tony Hawk, and always loved Powell Peralta. I ended up freestyling with a Rodney Mullen. They were the best times in my life.
Holy crap man! That was sick. Makes me want to go hit the puny hill down the street from my house and pretend I’m as good as Ben. Super stoked on that video!
All the standys were wicked to watch. Still trying to understand techniques, but learned so much with so many. But slide finish with laughter is real and fun. Epic vid. 🙏🙇🏻♂️
Sketchy as heck riding those wheels like that. Buttered ice. Def not what I would choose. I ride several sets of dragons but they are uncontrollable for me sliding.
are the dragons bringing hype back to longboarding like them otang wheels and loaded boards?? I kinda wanna know whats good w them. I checked out around "These" wheels. Been a while since I laid some nice thane.
I believe so. Orang and loaded have a lot of hype. I believe Powell and all of their equipment represent the industry standards. Powell is now the biggest name in DH skateboards because of the consistencies in their formulas.
come out the Gifford Pinchot National Forest! We have tons of FRESH black top logging roads fresh for the taking........ These roads are closed all winter long and only open for the summer. Butter!
I have a few set ups with dragon formula 54s and 55s and at high speeds they get pretty slick, but in the wide 60’s of the video, they look much grippier. This was pretty gnarly either way.
I want to know how far he made it...top speed. Spotters? How many times has he bombed that spot... so many questions.... powell Peralta will always have a special place in my ♥
About a mile and a half with 1000 vertical drop. In the beginning and end I’m at about 45mph. No spotters. First time ever riding this road. Thank you for your questions.
1) How many miles was that from start to finish? 2) my JM Duran board has never ever gone that hard! 3) Three of my P & P boards roll with 56mm Dragon wheels.
This is so RAD. Skating at its basics but so much fun. He's got some GNARLY slides that aint so basic lol my eyes started watering a little bit i feel like I was bombing that hill lol
@@benjaminduerr5455 KILLER... the Dragon comment then I saw the Blue Ridge mountains and thought that was the PERFECT little hint to a location! More power to the power slides you have nerves of steel... kinda like the old Stacy Peralta vids of them layback hand sliding down the hills in Cali... I had a 9ft tall 16 wide half pipe in thge 1980's when I was a teenager.
