Kyle Harrison was in elementary school when the Strickland Harper fight happened. This has nothing to do with that. Harper is a bitch. That’s the problem here.

Even the Phils broadcasters thought it was an unintentional command issue. He'd already K'd Harper twice. I'm pretty sure a young guy like Harrison would have much preferred to put a hat trick on one of the best hitters in the game than to bean him.

You're blaming the wrong guy. Hunter Strickland went to the yard looking for a fight instead of a baseball game. He told Buster Posey and others before the game he was going to throw at Harper and he didn't want them to stop him if Harper charged the mound. He was mad about the homer Harper hit off of him in the 2014 playoffs and the fact Harper looked at him twice as he circled the bases. He wanted that fight. Samardzija was the direct cause of Morse's concussion, but all blame lands on Strickland.. I just read yesterday where Strickland said he regrets the whole thing. But, everything that happened was a result of his intentions. That's why he lost a lot of Giants fans from his corner that day. It was all the result of the three year old grudge of a whiny man child.

@pycellesbeard9728 Benches should clear when the team feels a need to back up their guy. The main issue I have here is Bryce and the Giants catcher were clearly having a level-headed discussion about the pitch and trying to let cooler heads prevail. Why cause an unnecessary escalation and risk having your guys thrown out of the game.

@@charlielan9287Benches clear quite often, for less. The problem is that the Phillies will not be allowed to throw inside, without hitting a Giants hitter. Harper almost ate that pitch in his head. It’s a good reason for benches to clear. Not to mention that the catcher was extremely close to Harper after that pitch was thrown. No matter what the catcher had to say, he didn’t need to be uncomfortably close to Harper. And that’s part of the reason the Phillies came to Harper’s defense. If they don’t, it looks like it’s a pitcher and catcher against Harper. What other reason would be acceptable for benches to clear? Harper was hit in the face prior. He was also hit in the hand or wrist and missed games for both. The Phillies are a team that has each others back. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s expected for the Phillies.
