I finally got the Benchmade 940 Osborne which has been one of my grail knives for years. With that said I pretty much blew my knife budget for awhile. This maybe the last new knife unboxing for the forseeable future. Lol.

The Warren Osborne designed Benchmade 940 is a popular knife for good reason. It's a comfortable everyday carry knife with a slim design, great ergonomics and a lightweight build. The 940 has an S30V steel blade with a plain edge and a satin finish. The 6061-T6 aluminum handle is anodized green with 410 stainless steel liners and a purple titanium spacer on the handle back with custom ridges. The AXIS lock and reversible pocket clip make the knife usable for right and left handers.

Congrats on the 940. I always liked pocket knives but this was pretty much the first I bought when I got more serious about collecting. 25 or so knives later in my mind it is indisputably the best designed and favorite in my collection. It is timeless. The Rolex submariner of pocket knives.

It is a great knife. I have the 945 mini and the larger 940; I love them both! There is nothing wrong with the classics and you're supporting a business manufacturing world class knives right here in the USA! I love the feel of the aluminum scales--just something about them seems extra high quality to me. I enjoyed your video. Subscribed and Liked!

I love the 940!!! I've been buying only USA Made knives so there's not as many new knife videos. I carried the 940 and the Spyderco Native 5 for 2 months each and the Buck 110 Sport for a month. Thanks for checking the video out and subscribing!!!!

I bought the original 940 at cabelas 1 year ago for $210 after tax. it's been my safe queen and it's still my most expensive knife and it's an awesome, comfortable knife but knowing that the omega springs can break so easily kind of prevented me from carrying and using it that much but if anything happens I can just send it in

Nice!! I can understand that,, I consider 200 hundred bucks alot for a knife. I also have a Bugout, Griptilian and Mini Presidio 2. I carry vand use the Bugout and Mini Presidio 2 a ton, plus I'm bad knife fidigiter and haven't had a spring break yet. They don't seem hard to change tho. Thanks for checking the video out!!!

Use it in good health brother! After collecting for years and recently going down the CRK rabbit hole I still feel the 940 Osborne is an absolute staple. It’s not cheap but as good choice’s go, you made A good one!

Congrats on getting that grail. Definately a classic knife. Benchmade really does a rough grind on their blades. Once you sharpen it and lay back the edge a bit it will cut alot better. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

It had a real toothy edge more than my other Benchmades. I like a toothy edge but it was too much. I stroped it and it's a little better. I will lay the edge back when it's time to sharpen. Thanks for checking the video out!!

Congrats on finally getting one of your grail knives, Jack! I have not found a Benchmade folder that speaks to me yet. I wish they made some more affordable models, but that market is pretty saturated and they have their clientele. Stay well, my friend.

That's one reason it took me so long to get. For the price of 1 you can get 2 to 4 really nice more budgetty knives.

I agree the price is hard to swallow but I will say the warranty is awesome even if you snap the blade in half they will replace it. They also sharpen, clean and oil your knife for free anytime you want.

Benchmades warranty is great. That has to factor into the cost of their knives. I'm still loving the 940 after carrying it for 7 straight weeks.

I have a 940 and yes it’s a badass Iconic knife although my favorite it the mini Griptilian… perfect

I like the full size Griptilian, the mini is just a little to small for me. I have the Ritter Hogue Mini RSK which is basically the same but is just a little bit larger and feels better in my hand.

Love my 940 in Ceracote! Had the 940-2 first, and sold it to my nephew. Also had the 945 in G-10, which I liked, but gave it away to a friend. Just a great all around knife!

It is a great all around work knife for sure. It's capable of more than just cutting stuff. In fact it's not the best slicer in the world but if you lay the edge back a little it slices better. Thanks for checking the video out!!!!

It's worth the money. Just bought a 940-2 rei exclusive. Breaking in nicely. If you don't loose it it will last a lifetime.

I almost opted for the Mini or the G10 version but went with the original. Haven't actually used it much but so far I like it.

I recently got one, and it is my grail knife. I bought to use the knife, rugged use. But after I got the knife, I didn't want to use it. I don't want dirt on it. I will get another knife for actual hard use-a replaceable one.

Nice! I can understand the not wanting to mess it up. Its an awesome looking knife and expensive.. It's made for hard use. I bought mine knowing I'm going to beat the heck out of it. It's the only knife I've carried for the last 6 1/2 weeks. Thanks for checking the video out!!

I have much more expensive knifes but 940 is in my pocket always and little Victorinox Explorer+ to me best combo Victronox is small and tiny and opposite of that is 940

I’m on my Second 940 after losing my first one. Still scarred from it. Ive owned many high end knives in the 2 to 5 hundred dollar range and the 940 is all I carry now. It’s a work horse knife. Wouldn’t carry anything else.
