That one is so likable just because it's so clean and smooth, and the brass-isch carbon fibre- combo just hits you in the right spot. A gentleman's carry, as said before.

I agree with the super steel on small knives. One of my favorite 3" knives lately is the Benchmade Valet in M390

You’re spot on with that jimping! Why, just why! I’ve two of the sheepsfoot version and think they’re great, though I’ve never used the blue Ltd edition one. The micarta one is a proper user, but I do like cf for a gentleman’s folder (I’ve a few), so you never know!

A very nice knife, and I definitely agree regarding the use of S90V. Honestly there’s only two small changes I’d personally like to make this perfect for me. Firstly, I prefer when slipjoint blades have a small unprofiled portion by the handle (as seen on most slipjoint blades, including the Cadet shown here), as it provides something to hit your finger first if the worst happens and the blade shuts on you. That said, thanks to the handle design of this knife, it wouldn’t have been as effective as it is in some designs. Secondly, while I love G10, Micarta and CF as handle materials, I personally prefer my traditionals to have more traditional handle materials, like wood or bone, so I’d love it if BM offered the Proper with wood scales like those found on the BM Crooked River, North Fork, etc. I think a BM Proper with wood scales would be a damn near perfect edc/gents carry slipjoint.

Just beginning to get into traditionals. Not sure if I would use one enough to justify the regular proper price so starting low to see. I can possibly see getting the regular proper someday but 200 for a slipjoint don't see that happening. That is like 75 bucks per inch of cutting surface. Maybe on a Super high end custom hand made with lots of fancy file work. Benchmade I think has been much more aware quality control since the gun episode where they realized hey people are paying attention maybe we need to get QC under control. Great review I love the knife liked the review but don't like the price so I don't see me buying their high end one. Thanks for showing the good looking slipjoint.

Sadly, Benchmade has discontinued all models of the Proper.

I really want a nice slip joint...have been saying that for two years now. I travel quiet a bit in Asia and have to follow knife laws even more Draconian that the State of Washington. The Proper has been on my radar, but I haven't quiet pulled the trigger on it.

There’s a guy who has one of these, exactly like this model, say’s he’ll take $120.00 plus throw in a Hitch & Timber leather sheath. The only thing different, is that it is a first production run, meaning it’s numbered 894 of 1200. Having that on there, in your opinion, good or bad? But, for $120.00, I had to buy it. You got a great deal brotha and the first production stamp great if you're a collector adds value, doesn't matter if your a user like me just a little extra bill boarding. But again great deal you got the high end one, with a leather slip for the price of the reg

@@stephensgate1 No problem brotha it's a pretty cool community, I've only been doing this stuff online for a year or 2 . There are some people out there that are just trying to hustle you and make a buck, but most just enjoy the hobby, and are selling what they don't use so they can get something new. You got a really nice deal on that. Someone you know or found it online? Just curious.

I'm not a big benchmade fan or even a slip joint fan of anything much bigger than a cadet that disappears in the bottom of your pocket but I find it hard to not want this knife. Its proper

M/C they're steel liners with what Benchmade calls a Flat Dark Earth DLC, I always thought it looked more brass or gold than FDE
