I've had chronic joint pain for years, and my doctor suggested red light therapy. I tried a panel from Future Form Official, a Norwegian company, and was amazed by the results. The panel is affordable and easy to use. After a few weeks, my pain and inflammation significantly decreased. I also use it to boost my mood and energy during the dark winters. There's plenty of scientific evidence supporting red light therapy's benefits. I'm thankful for this video-it reinforced how beneficial red light therapy can be.

I bought a small mitored adapt panel. I have had issues sleeping for nearly 30years (drs prescribedme sleeping pills at 16). I have never slept better! I tried skipping it last night because i was so tired,but after 3 hours of laying there trying to fall asleep. I did 10min and was asleep within 20min. I bought it to help my thyroid. My teen kids use it on their face for their acne.

Red light LED are absolutely amazing for a number of skin disorders. I have been using the devices since 1996 and I have found them useful for all kinds of nonhealing wounds, acne, Herpes simplex infections and many more. This was a good and informative video. This does give confidence to use red- light to new users and highlights the various uses and benefits of using this safe therapy at home.

I would not stand in front a red light panel, set it at 670 and then think that that extremely strong light, was safe to use. You have to know how far away from the machine is safe, and I bet many are thinking they are doing good, but will then destroy their eyes instead. I have looked at a study, but can't find this information, I wish there were a presentation on this specifically, on how to use any commercial red light panel to do this safely.

So sad that doctors don’t promote this kind of therapy. We all should have red light panels in our homes for well being. So many health issues for so many people would disappear with use of infrared red light therapy.

I just wrote that above! in a long explanation to someone of why sunglasses are not good! There are some times when they are warranted. Also the ones doc mentioned below. However day to day, we are depriving ourselves of so many important hormones and especially dopamine by not getting the light in our eye. I was amazed that I did not burn at all this summer not wearing sunglasses despite being in the sun more than I had since a child, maxing skin exposure (including some naked sun bathing :) ), and no sunscreen. Of course I started slowly building my solar callous. The theory that not wearing sunglasses allowed by skin to get the signal that it needed to produce more melanin to protect me seemed correct in my N-1 experiment! I actually was tan. more that I ever was in my life! It wasn't my goal, but it was a nice bonus. The UV light is GOOD for us, including our skin! I'm 62 years old, never wore much sunscreen to be honest, and while I'm not perfect, most ppl think I'm much younger. I certainly don't have more wrinkles than anyone else my age! I don't expect to look 30 anymore. but I want to look healthy. And I think a natural looking older woman is beautiful!

Are you joking with this guy? He even got the name of the book wrong. I haven't eaten meat in over 50 years, and I've been vegan for about four years. My doctor literally said, "You're perfect." I'm in great physical shape, as soon as I gave up dairy I stopped being constipated after a lifetime, and I've never been anemic. I think people who get sick on a vegan diet just don't know anything about nutrition or they're just not paying attention to what they eat. Blood type or not, we're all human. None of us are like cats or other natural carnivores so blah blah blah. I couldn't get past the first five minutes.

How wonderful, you are a neuromuscular therapist and must have knowledge, as I have seen the panels that are made by companies that sell them at over $700 each, and I wonder, why the manual may not have this information nor tell you how far away from the light you have to stand. Do you stand 12 inches close to the machine and look into the panel? Do you do so at 3 feet, or 6 feet? As I rather not do more harm than good, please help.

Everything seemed to be making sense until I was astonished to hear the advice to not wear sunglasses, as most sunglasses, even the cheap ones, block UV. According to Johns Hopkins, "UV light ages all structures of the eye. Corneal damage, cataracts and macular degeneration are all possible chronic effects from UV exposure and can ultimately lead to decreased vision. " Sunglasses are engineered to block UV light in the range of 10-400nm. The red light that is beneficial in these panels is 660nm, so I do not understand how wearing sunglasses prevents the beneficial effects of the red light? I'd advise anyone to take anything heard here with a grain of salt and not act on any of the advice unless they consult with a trusted professional first.
@scoobydadog246
@scoobydadog246 10 месяцев назад
Its complicated. I'd suggest listening to Jack Kruse. the grandfather of all circadian. Mainstream medicine is one of the worst sources to follow regarding eye health. If you really dig into the literature, what is damaging eyes (and we see the incidence of these things going up dramatically as with the use of blue lit screens and LED lights has dramatically increased. It you really carefully read the literature it is the over exposure to blue light.. especially staring directly into it, via these screens.. that is causing much more of the problems you describe above. (you can find papers wiht just a google search). While the sun has blue light, and UV it is always balanced by red and IR light. Most studies showing damage by UV were using isolated light. The main issue with sunglasses is that many of our hormonal pathways and production of important neurotransmitters like dopamine are stimulated by UV light on our retinas! The light on our retina is also important for setting the circadian rhythm. There is an important pathway called the POMC that is directly stimulated by the light on the retina. Now, you of course do not want to stare into the bright sun. Also, this is interesting and I found this to be true when i stopped wearing sunglasses this summer. Your body figures out how much melanin you need to produce (i.e to help protect your skin )by the light signal into your eye. So, I go out in the bright sun, but body via my eye, gets the message, we need to crank up the melanin to protect the skin. With sunglasses, you don't get the message. I am pasty white and burn easily, and tried this experiment this summer and was amazed. Of course, I started slowing with sun exposure, but I did not burn at all! I worked up to spending 2 , 3 hours in mid day sun with most skin exposed, no sunscreen. I was more tan than I had ever been in my life. Also in the sun more.. but normally I would look like a lobster. I noticed no negative effects not wearing sunglasses. Perhaps if you are in a very intense situation, like skiiing where the sun is reflecting off the white snow and very bright, or have trouble with driving, you might want to pop some on, but I encourage you to try it. If you are worried, at least start in am or late afternoon when there is less UV light. And of course look into it.. Ditch the sunglasses and sunscreen for your health! If you are wearing sunglasses outside to ovoid UV light, but the staring directly at a phone, iPad, computer , TV screen that is likely 5700K blue light you are doing more damage. Better to wear some glasses then! Blue blockers, but maybe sunglasses even help!!
@maryfrohnapfel
@maryfrohnapfel 5 месяцев назад
The light is red light like in a laser red light will be filtered by wearing the glasses. It uses lower wavelengths that correspond to the type of lenses in the glasses that are sent. The number is listed in nm and should be on the glasses that were sent with the product. You should not look or stare directly into this light without wearing the eye protection. You should not stare or point a device like the laser pointers used during presentations either. I agree that the directions I received did not direct me to wear the glasses or not. I am a healthcare provider specifically operated Class ll medical lasers and I will wear the glasses if the light is directed to my face. DO NOT get all crazy...Keep it simple. Wear them if you SEE the light reflecting to your face and your eyes are open.

1. It's not advisable to "maximise your exposure to the sun". I have two siblings who've had repeated surgeries to remove cancerous skin melanomas as a result of them maximising their exposure to the sun when they were younger. 2. This vid has reminded me to go outside each evening and watch the sunset. At the happiest times of my life I used to watch the beautiful colours of the sunset each day to lift my spirits. Now I think it was probably no coincidence that at those times I slept well and was happiest. Red light therapy done naturally.

@reneeboyd80
@reneeboyd80 Год назад
That makes no sense it has nothing to do with how hot the sun is? They still get uv rays in Nordic countries, and because they're white, their skin absorbs uv rays better. They also eat healthier and things straight out of the sea. They're known for eating a lot of fish. Sounds more like the problem in Brazil is a lack of good nutrition. American Samoa is also a place that gets a lot of sun, and the people are dark, yet they are tall, strong, and healthy. Brazil is also considered a 3rd world poor country compared to most European countries and that also plays a part.

What about sunscreen? Everyone's always making such a big deal about always wearing sunscreen to not age your skin. I never liked hearing that, something about it doesn't sit right with me. Also, when he says not to wear sunglasses does he mean not to use it even during red-light-therapy? Cause they always say to wear goggles to protect your eyes.
@drmorgannolte
@drmorgannolte Год назад
My understanding was no sunglasses at all, even during red light therapy. The only thing he said they would be good for was high glare situations such as early morning sun glare while driving, snow skiing, or when on the water with high glare from the water. I've heard mixed things about sunscreen for sure. I haven't researched that topic enough to be able to provide a great opinion. I do try to not wear it for the first 20-30 minutes I'm in the sun so that I get the vitamin D. And I try to find a less toxic brand.
