22+ years after you've gone....we're all still here Ben. The crowds may have dwindled, but the loyalty of millions has not. We're still here, Ben. Still listening, watching, and in awe of your talents, and THAT voice. We love you Ben Orr. If indeed I can just meet you and say thank you to you on the other side.....what a day that will be.
Well stated and you are 100 percent right regarding Benjamin Orr, his music and legacy and being part of the group The Cars. I will be 48 in December 2023( current year) and have listened to " The Cars", Benjamin Orr as a individual since early 1980's( Benjamin Orr album "Lace" came out in 1986) and continue to listen Benjamin Orr,and " The Cars" in 2023. Unfortunately, a great musician and human being taken much too early in life, deceased at age 53! Benjamin Orr's music and legacy will live on ( future) for sure. We have the gift of his music! Benjamin Orr's music is relaxing ( mental relaxation) and soothing to the mind when we incur difficult days/ times in our life. We will have good days along with difficult days in life!
Benjamin, you are such an inspiration to me. You were so courageous during your illness, and you still smiled. And you stayed on that stage until you absolutely couldn't. This song is amazing , with lyrics of hope. I just wish you could have stayed. You deserved to be here sweet man. ❤❤
No matter how many years pass by, hearing Benjamin’s voice is like a warm & gentle summer night. Always my immediate selection when I need music for calm & comfort ✨💜💫
Hello. I am 51 years old, I have known Ben's voice for years but now I feel it deep inside. He makes me cry with emotion and I feel like I know him like a brother. If the same thing happens to anyone, please write to me. Thank you
Benjamin Orzechowski was born in Lakewood, Ohio,[2] to parents of Polish descent. His family actively supported his musical endeavors. He became proficient in several instruments including the guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums.
To anyone who ever said Benjamin could not write lyrics , needs to listen to his songs on The Lace. Spectacular music, by a talented, amazing man. Miss you beautiful. 🌟❤️
Here in Columbus, Ohio he was compared to Paul McCartney due to his perfect pitch. And he was a stellar musician. At age 15 he had his first record and was in Life magazine.
If anybody is still watching this and if anybody cares, I just got the CD of Ben's unreleased songs. I found it on eBay it came from Spain. I don't know if it's a boot leg and I don't care. It cost $20 plus postage. It's great. Songs are clear as a bell, his voice is beautiful, all the songs are there in one place. You may have to do some searching online to find it but it is worth it.
*When one hears just even BENJAMIN ORR'S singing voice -- one can totally understand and/or can picture what a Wonderful Person BENJAMIN was ...its just so so very very sad to me (and I'm sure to a great very many people and his fans when they heard of his passing...) that such a lovely Human Being like BENJAMIN had to be 'taken away' so soon like that. I like to suppose that some of us 'put' here on earth are just meant to become Angels in Heaven just a little sooner than others -- that's the only way I can make sense of it all to tell ya the truth...I just feel I must believe that...if not -- I'd be so utterly forever heartbroken & unable to function at all for the times I've had to 'lose' someone I had loved so purely with all my heart...* *~May God Rest Your Soul In Peace Forever More Dear Benjamin Orr~*
W P We have to believe in something otherwise what is the point of life. I have to believe that there truly is a Heaven because I want to see my Mom again.
Happy Birthday beautiful, sweet, multi and extraordinarily talented Benjamin! You are greatly missed. Your music with The Cars and solo will live f orr ever!
Stay the night... it's alright -- that song grabbed me as a favorite from that solo album from Ben. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. All of his songs are awesome, but Stay the Night has a certain coolness about it. Of course, like this song & the rest of the album. Even still, like forty years later.
He may the CARS look great. He made the CARS sound phenomenal. In the late 70s and Early 80s, He was just what we needed. How to see you guys on stage together on that rear stage on the Other Side of the Jordan. RIP Bennie 11 Letters
@@anij8226 I'm not sure if Benjamin actually said it, but when he was being interviewed about The Lace album by Mark Goodman on MTV, Mark introduced him as Benjamin "don't call me Ben" Orr. That's the only reference I know.
So many times disappointed Thrown about with the doubt You could never see And out of nowhere it sounded Something is happening Someone who happened to hear you Listening in silence and knew How to understand One step ahead of a feeling Touching with loving hands Now I know that things are gonna be alright (This time, this time) This time around Lonely days give way to warm and gentle nights (This time) No need to keep second guessing Racing in circles and trying to figure out Answers to all of the questions You had them all along (You had them all along) Yes, I know that things are gonna be alright (This time, this time) This time around Lonely days give way to warm and gentle nights (This time) Take away all of your doubts 'Cause there's something for you That comes from a different place In a different way Straight ahead, you and me every day You just got to be you; just believe You know that love can give you what you need Now I know that things are gonna be alright (This time, this time) This time around Lonely days give way to warm and gentle nights (This time) Warm and gentle summer nights So many times disappointed Thrown about with the doubt You could never see Then out of nowhere it sounded Straight to the heart of me Now I know that things are gonna be alright (This time, this time) This time around Lonely days give way to warm and gentle nights (This time) Yes, I know that things are gonna be alright (This time, this time) This time around Lonely days give way to warm and gentle nights Warm and gentle summer nights
Sometimes.. a soul blesses the World with its presence.. bringing joy and happiness for all too brief an instant.. but how lucky are we to have been alive at that same time? RIP Benny11letters
@@paisleycloudsaremineplaysa6003It's still Ben Orr, no question. Yet, the contents on "The Lace" sound way different than The Cars. This album is among the best of the 80s.
So sad of him passing. He was so beautiful thank you for the eighties l was a teenager your music ment a lot to me and was very special band the cars. I love you Benjamin even though your same age as my mum l find you so beautiful especially for the eighties era. RIP Benjamin xoxo
What a tragic loss we lost this multi talented man way before his time. Thank goodness we have all these beautiful videos to keep you alive in our hearts. Miss & love you Ben. RIP
Benjamin's voice still makes me ahhh. Beautiful. Listening to Lace makes me think Ric may have been wise to allow Ben to write some songs for the Cars. So talented in so many ways.
9/8/47. 75 years ago today an angel was brought into this world. Although he's been gone 22 years he is still here in our hearts. Happy birthday Benjamin, we miss you.❤️
I know right...*BENJAMIN ORR* who is the lead vocalist on this famous Cars' Song is a *LEGEND*! Your voice & music is so missed BENJAMIN...Rest In Peace Benjamin...
@@FS-dp5jj This song, "This Time Around" is from Benjamin Orr's SOLO album The Lace. All of the songs are incredible. Diane Grey Page, Benjamin's beautiful girlfriend/fiance at the time, collaborated with him in the making of this 1986 release. Diane & Benjamin are credited with writing the music & the lyrics. You may recall seeing the videos for "Stay The Night" & "Too Hot to Stop" on MTV. In 1986, "Stay the Night" was a moderate commercial success & had significant air time on the radio. I personally, love this album !
He was the most recognize of the band....his voice speaks for the band.... and i am so glad that he was here among us all....to bring us such wonderful songs and music.... he's gone but his songs, music, legacy and legend will live on in our hearts.....R.I.P Mr Drive.
Without Ben Orr....there would not be the CARS.....as we have known them. Ben Orr was very underrated and overshadowed by a self centered jerk....That would be RIC. I know of what I speak. RIP Ben......you will always be appreciated.
I agree 100% with you Ric turned into a dick during the MTV days he was arrogant and proud and controlling no one had no freedom of expression it was his way or the high way , treated like shit the guy who started it all with him and the guy who was the back bone of the band . Period.
@@desertrose1226He thought that before ... I remember a quote that said something along the lines of I formed this band to play my music. Like he was all that mattered. If you want more proof, listen to his Rock Hall speech, where (unless I missed it) he completely ignored Elliot.
