Wow. Can image that! Benny is not only one of the best piano players in jazz history but also one of the nicest genuine people I met in my life! I met up with him 7 days after you played with him in London we hang out for 2 hour after his solo piano concert!
I met Benny Green a few months ago and he was kind enough to take a moment to sign me a book for my birthday with loving wishes. It was a good surprise to find this video, playing with one of my favorite youtubers
I just discovered Jimindorothy ! I like 👍🏻congrats from France Actually, I see that in Asia , jazz players are the best with the new generation like Hiromi , Juna and many others like you !
I’d love to see you do a world tour or at least come to North America now that the pandemic has settled! Great to see you playing with more people too!
This is great. Many songs made famous by Keith Jarrett's trio. By the way, a sign of a truly amazing musician is the ability to just call out a tune and deliver an amazing performance, as both of them do here.
Benny è un grande uomo ........oltre che uno straordinario musicista.......Lei anche molto brava ed umile...si diverte ed è felice......Il messaggio arriva ed è molto importante.....Grazie.
Wow! Simply phenomenal! I’ve been a fan of Benny since seeing him at the original Yoshi’s in Oakland in the early 1990s. And I’ve been following Jimin in RU-vid for the past few years. This reminds me of the legendary Chick Corea/Hiromi duets. Congrats!
Beautiful ❤❤I fondly remember Benny coming over to hear us practice at Jimmy Dright’s house in Berkeley. He must have been 10 or 11 years old. Little did we know that we were amongst a genius ❤❤❤
Such a great performance ~~ You both play with so much ease and the way you communicate with each other through music and without word is really cool ~~ I guess there's a big part of improvisation on your performance. The most difficult on improvisation is to make a clear and concrete melodic part.
yamaha pianos are notoriously bright sounding, this video was also mixed with a lot of compression (an audio affect to sometimes make things consistently the same volume) Compression on such a bright instrument is making these pianos a tad harsh.
Very enjoyable performance - thanks. But I must (reluctantly) admit that I prefer listening to these two amazing talents separately: Unfortunately jazz piano duets tend to become a bit crowded and muddy.
This is great. Really good to hear you play live in this context. Please have more live shows. You are a splendid player and are enthusiastic about jazz. That's good to know because it is this that will keep the art of jazz alive. Please keep it out of the museums and play wherever there are large groups of people who may not have heard of this before. BTW...Bennie Green is a hack. Never liked him. He's just a privileged white guy from Berkeley who got lucky and got a record contract years ago. He hasn't gotten better or become exciting over the years. Ugh. Anyway, keep up the good work and keep trying new stuff. Something with electric piano and smooth jazz would be nice. Young folks would dig that.
