The wide color gamut doesn't make the picture "cool".. It's kind of the whole point of this projector. It's how you achieve 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It does cut some of the brightness, but it also improves the black level presentation and contrast. In my opinion, it's a must if you're watching a movie without daylight.
I've been considering this model. I've got over 350 digital movies on Apple TV, half of them are Dolby Vision, so I'm wondering what kind of HDR will come out when using this projector.
What if I need a 300-inch picture: shall I stick with Ht4550i or find a specific model that will have 300'' in tech specs. Projectorcentral is showing Throw Distance: 1.0 m - 7.6 m (not sure whether it`s correct statement)
Excellent videos, i gave watching yr videos 👏👏. Sir, i am seriously searching for a 4k laser projector for movie purpose. Can i purchase this model Benq W4000i or LG AU810P 4k laser. Pl advise me for a decision
Hey. Im in dire need of trying to get my HT4550i to play 3d bluerays from my PS3. I didnt have much luck from Benq customer support. I have the right 3d glasses, a HDMI cable that wouldnt have issues and of course the 3d Blue rays. I cant seem to figure it out. My next step is getting a 3D blueray player but want to avoid that. The 3d always looked sick on my 3d sony tV so I know the PS3 worked. PLEASE HELP.
Seems to be a great device! Some questions: 1. Does the motion enhancer also work in 3D? 2. What happens, if you have a Dolby Vision movie? If it does support HDR 10+, why not Dolby Vision (I guess, projectors don´t support Dolby Vision in general, but why? ) ? So what happens with a Dolby Vision movie? 3. Does it have convergence problems and are there setting to correct them?
Motion enhancer doesn't work with 3D, DV movies also support HDR so movies are in HDR. Dolby Vision cost extra for the rights to use it, that could be a reason why.
I'm going mad and can't decide what do you think for a movie only projector. Great review. Epson TW9400. Optoma UHZ50 JVC LX-NZ30 BenQ HT4550i Thanks so much

$3000 for long throw led projector in 2023 is too much ask. $2200 would be ideal. Also the segment is crowded with some amazing long throw as well as UST pj. When you get better lazer pj or a classic 5050ub in this segment why to go for led.
5050UB is always good but the HT4550I has much better sharpness. Native contrast is average but the local contract enhancer looks to be good on the BenQ. It would be cool to see this back to back with the 5050UB or the AWOL 2500 which are the class leaders in their segments.
Each has their advantages. When it comes to the Epson 5050ub, it has great blacks, but the Benq 4550i is more color accurate, you don't have to replace a bulb, higher sharpness, and slightly lower lag time. It also has the local contrast enhancer that can enhance contrast in different ways. Sounds like both are great in their respected ways. I understand what you're saying though. A lot more options and competition in the price and below.
hello, what kind of paint i should buy so when i turn off the light there wont be refection, like this one you painted behind the screen, like cinema compeletly black.
Joelster! Your videos are great. I had a question for you. Maybe you could make a video on it? I have the vava 4k projector (first gen black version) and I have an apple TV 4k. I just got a Sonos beam 2nd gen and I can’t figure out out to get the right sound level. I use my Apple Remote to raise the volume but I have to go all the way up to get good sound from the beam. I’m going crazy trying to figure it out. Any thoughts?
Hey Joelster..I recieved my replacement ht4550i and this one is perfect..Also If You write a review on audio video review and upload your serial # Benq offers a $200.00 rebate once confirmed by Benq staff..good video..I did not like filmmaker mode either..bright cinema for me was best in my mancave..regards..bill
@@SnakeDoctor5104 The dongle /hdmi connection kept disconnecting and the projector all by itself defaulted the normal picture modes to back and forth..The new one is perfect acting ..
@@JoelsterG4k thanks for the reply, yes, i asked benq why the one i have got has a light boarder, kind of annoying. They said all dlp projector has a light boarder or some sort, but there doesnt seem to be one in your review. Thanks man.
Can you make a video in comparison between alr vividstorm motorized screen and Elite screen motorized witch one is better I can't make up my mind until I see your video. Thanks 0:19
@@JoelsterG4k Thanks for the suggestion and all your time & efforts to help us make the right decision. However i had doubts regarding the Benq X3000i vs Viewsonic X1-4K. This one would be a tough decision. Looking at the X1-4K really blows my mind. You can check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NmRMVSlwjt8.html
@@JoelsterG4k I went to see one at a showroom and unfortunately saw it, I may have to opt for 3LCD. Thank you for your reply and this was another good review :)
@@JoelsterG4k thanks. So I suppose my last question is,, do you think the awol is worth the extra cash? I guess it's somewhat relative. So the answer can vary.
@EbFilesX Is worth if you need an UST projector like me that I don't have the space for standard throw projectors, if that is not your case then this BenQ is ideal for you.
