Chris’s theory on essentially a glutamate storm being the cause rather than a gaba downreg makes so much sense. It’s the common link between ssris, benzos, and anti psychotics.

I tapered for almost 3 years and did not really start feeling any better until about 6 months AFTER my taper ended. It was nonstop hell during the entire taper..and even worse for the first few months after it ended...then I very slowly started to heal..until now today at about 5 years out I am 100% back to normal...and feel better than I ever did! Praise God.

I'll just say...once the 'symptoms' start...it is already too late...the damage has been done.

Wow thank you so much for talking about nuances and the trouble with absolutes when talking about tapering and advice in the groups. It's so helpful to think about the nuances and the individual different experiences

i am wondering if one has a LOW B12 defciency should you try to correct it ? I am 6 years out but have a b12 level of 304 and i am being told that is not good for my nervous system.

Did your Dr suggest B12 injections? I had them during year 3 of tapering & they helped me feel better. Even gave a much needed boost in energy for like a week. If you are deficient, pills or sublingual will take extremely long to get your level back up.

Google his name. He is one of the most expensive coaches but I too wish I could talk to him but for a couple of hours.

Asking for a friend she took D) all of the above, basically a long list of stuff you listed and then some. But the one that did her in to a hyper agitated state was the Valium. if she was to get back on any of them is that the one you'd recommend, the one that she took last and withdraw from?

Hello Chris Thank You for your inspiration. August of 2021 I was suffering from Long COVID brain fog and ex function loss Working as a clinician Went to my PC after a job fell through due to my inability to function on a computer I developed insomnia during this time and my doc prescribed an SSRI celexsa Second or third day taking it I had a psychotic reaction which presented like akathisia Couldn’t sit still I was suicidal extreme agitation I don’t know how I managed to stay out of a ward or hospital that night I was referred to a psychiatrist who diagnosed my reaction to the SSRI as a bipolar event and prescribed me effexor and seroquel The only drug that helped me sleep was Klonopin Fast forward 2022 I feel like I have a brain injury Fear isolation confusion in tolerance On mirtazapine 7.5 and Klonopin .75 Im afraid to taper because I’m not capable of tapering because my brain function is so bad Suffering every day dark dark thoughts and depression but meds are not the solution. What can I do?

I'm sorry you are going through this...BUT..the ONLY way this is going to end is for you to slowly taper off ALL the medication.

Yes. Stress makes it worse!! Avoid it like the plague. The body does not have the capacity to cope with it.
