I saw a weaning method. You crush your dosage and completely dissolve it in a glass of water. Day one remove 1 tsp, Day two 2 tsp It is tedious but very gradual Keep a chart. This method helped me wean from Ativan To be clear, remove one tsp per dose per day and take the remainder in the glass. I pray the best for you
Go veryyyy slow. Towards the final days take tiny millimeter pieces. It will still be painful , but this is how I stopped seizure free and I took quite I bit of benzos
Tbh i took 24 mg Alprazolam for 4 years and i had no withdrawls. Im clean now for 5 weeks and it is a blessing. My doctor said im the only one without withdrawls. So dont fuck with that shit. It is the devil
some people crave them but they just entered the honeymoonphase, when you're on them for a while it's the opposite of craving, rather distaste or maybe already pure hate, I don't want to tell anyone how they should judge their dr x gs but please don't dismiss people that are on their way to the same addiction or maybe even worse addiction you've been through because they just started. This stuff should never be prescribed. You suffer to get off of it but then you still can't get normal because you feel like crap and almost psychotic. Doctors give you ssri meds but they don't seem to understand that it's not the same thing and does not help withdrawal.
True but benzos saved me from suicide. Been on them for 22 yrs. Ya withdrawal is hell so I have to increase the dose . I asked Jesus to forgive me and deliver me from a chemical imbalance. Could never sleep before I took them always ended up in the hospital from exhaustion.
I saw my dead step dad lying on the chair,as the sun came up on my fourth day , I had no idea it was delerium. I was taking benzos and stopped suddenly. I didn't sleep for days,then it was hallucinations then smash,like being hit on the back of the head I went into seizure for 15minutes according to witnesses,they thought I was dead. I really saw that apparition fade as sunlight came up, I heard my name whispered,I was in torture couldn't sleep relax ever for months and my GP had no care until I arrived with two black eyes after the worst and first seizure I'd ever had. Terrifying.i hope this time this dr knows what he's doing. From a the first eight months where I was still I'll cold turkey but not as bad as the firstonth,she offerede 20mg diazepam reducing in a month to zero. Looking into other specialist Dr opinions, it was destined to fail. Just too painful. I ended up in the worst relapse ever after screaming for weeks for help. Bear in mind these things were prescribed then stopped or I'd never have been exposed and then through desperate measures illicit internet bought rubbish, obviously worse.if you're in agony I'd love to see these drs for one day go through it and then after months say no when someone offers you something toske it stop instantly for. Less than a cup of Costa coffee. I hated myself doing it. Thankfully my elderly mother came with me to the psychiatrist and was believed above me,I was noted as a drug addict,unfair,I was trying my best and I was dependenti never stole or spent all my money on it etc big difference between dependency and full blown heroin addict shooting up drugs everyday, I can be a responsible person but I'm found thrown in with true dishonest very sick people,liars,thieves and forget personal identity now. Horrible. Emotionally traumatising,physically like medieval torture and you don't want to be around anybody,not because you don't care but because it's too stressful,I deal with pain better alone. It's like a shamanic journey of the soul,deep within yourself and hope you survive.

It happened to me I ran out of clonazepam doctor was trying to put me on other medicine long story short I saw people in the backyard in the winter and I finally phoned the police to help them Well it turned out to be delirium I was gently transported to a hospital Where I was given another benzo to help me sleep That was a godsend I'm 67 whatever that has to do with it and have been dealing with nervous conditions all of my life

I got through benzo cravings one year and stopped being dependent. I don't know how I did it but I wish I would've kept going. Now I'm on another benzo and not doing well at all. Been really depressed and sick for months and running out my meds because Ativan does not work long like Clonazepam does which my doctor knows but refuse to listen or care. I can't wait for this to be over with and will offer her tons of prayers that she won't prescribe anyone else this medication or that she's not now and pray nobody goes to her asking for help to get through benzo hell.

@@thatboilaylow5292 the reward based cravings aren’t what cause a massive amount of people to commit suicide years after they got off benzo’s. The real issue is the damage that it does to your gaba receptors and limbic system, putting people in a constant state of fight or flight. When people are stuck in that state, the last thing on their mind is reward based, it is fear based.
He is greatly minimizing the horrible withdrawal that can last months. I only took 1mg of Ativan daily for sleep for TEN days only! I cannot stress how rotten I felt for months after. If I wasn’t an avid exerciser I would have lost it. Mild cardio, stretching, water, and sour cherry juice and massage got me through. I experienced nausea, neuropathy, eye tremors, insomnia, unsteady gait. I cannot imagine the folks who have taken this poison for years 😢
You don't get cravings . You get dependency. Not addiction. You can't function when you stop if dependency sets in. Usually after 2,4 weeks constant usage.
Saying benzos are not addictive is untrue. Some people are addicted to them. I was before addicted to benzos. Cravings indeed can happen for them too. Though in general for most people the psychological actual addiction itself to benzos may not be as sever as heavier dopamine releasing drugs like meth, coke, and opiates but they still are potentially addictive. Sometimes for some people very addictive. Though I can agree that with benzos the physical withdrawl is by far the worst part and is more intensive generally with benzos more so physically then other drugs. Benzos withdrawls when sever can feel worse even then heroin withdrawls. If they are sever benzos withdrawls. And they can be much more dangerous benzo withdrawls. Dangerous to more of an alcohol or barbiturate type of withdrawl since they all are downers and hit on GABA receptor. When a person has a bad benzo habit they should not cold turkey at home but go to a hospital or detox ward. And if your Dr takes u down off them from a high dose at home then ween off slowly. Benzo cold turkey withdrawl from 1mg xanax a day for 6 months also is gonna be much diff than withdrawls from 10mg xanax a day for 4 years. The heavier benzo withdrawls are horrifying! I've withdrawn 3 times from benzos. 2 of them times where so bad I had to be psych hospitalized in a psych ward because the xanax withdrawl was so unpleasant I wanted to kill myself when xamax withdrawl it mixed with my usual bi polar 1 I have and made me looney tunes wacked. Expect non stop anxiety attacks 24/7 for like 3 to 4 weeks I had coming off 8-12mg xanax a day from a 5 month run. And another time I jumped off kpins 3mg a day script on it for 10 months I cold turkeyed off of at home and that Withdrawl was hell too and lasted 3 weeks. I was up 4 days without even 1 hour of sleep. So ya the downers don't produce as much dopamine as the uppers and also the painkillers, but the withdrawls can be horrendous with benzos. And xanax is more addictive then ativan or kpin because it's faster acting and harder hitting per mg. Xanax also was the benzo I felt the most euphoria from. Ativan and kpins I never felt any euphoria on ever. Just would feel from those relaxed and sleepy and blacked out. But the xanax I actually could feel euphoria from and to a lessor extent Valium. The only 2 benzos that gave me noticeable euphoria. But make no mistake this drugs produce a hell of a dependent state for some people and for some people they can also produce classic addiction too. By themselves they also aren't as addictive as I'd you take the benzos with opiates. Adding opiates makes it much more addictive for both. Makes the high stronger and the dependency stronger if a person is hooked on both an opiate and a benzo. Today they cutting fentanyl with benzos to make it more physically dependent and to make a stronger high. I've heard one Dr rate xanax by itself at like a 6 out of 10 addiction level. Where meth and heroin/fentynal would be like a 9 or 10 out of 10. If you do hard opiates with benzos on the regular then the addiction potential goes through the roof. Also everyone's different. We have micro level and macro level. There are statistical common norm factors, but also individual people can react differently. One person may take them and be able to stop without issues or stop and never crave them again and another person could take them and get addicted or get withdrawls or both. But to say that it's not addictive at all to anyone is false. Because it can be addictive. And even more so it produces a hell of a dependency. I'd much rather go through the cravings and jonesing of a coke addiction than go through the horrible withdrawls common with long term benzo useage and then stopping.
@@zacharyzimmerman5721 you're telling me. I had to reinstate after 7 months cold turkey. After a septorhinoplasty surgery the general anesthetic severely kindled my brain. The misfiring at night where the gaba has no receptors to bind to. Severe weight loss complete insomnia for I don't know how long. I found tolerance at 20mg diazepam. Tolerance being found when taken at night sedated but not overly. Like 6-8 hrs sleep. The long half life kept other symptoms at bay . The list is to long. Whilst tapering and off the chronic fatigue and tension was the main symptoms. Still suffer some brain zaps at night and sleep disturbances. Whilst in severe protracted withdrawal I didn't have a clue what was happening. Truly horrific
@HistoryBuff for benzos,? Never had it down as that sort of drug. Then I was using to come down from other drugs. They're so readily available. Obviously non prescription
Thanks you answered my question, I'm on a diazepam detox from a worse benzo I think, but,even with the diazepam I can't do my housework,yesterday was first in a month I could fix just the living room. It feels like carrying because I am not lazy naturally and I loved making my house . Now there's dishes in the sink ,I think it's the anxiety and makes no sense??? No reason,my arms and legs aren't broken. Oh the withdrawals of this are less than cold turkey which failed last few months before I relapsed. Sooo annoying no drs even give advice of what to expect.
He has no idea , withdrawal doesn’t even get bad until about a week or so. Then, after a couple months of de habilitation it slowly gets better. I’ve done it twice. Cold turkey off 2-4mg a day.

I’m concerned about this??? 😢 it happens every night but during the day I’m ok I also am taking magnesium glycinate to help keep me calm and stop my heart beating fast which it has helped and no mind racing or anxiety so that’s good.
yea its tough, at night its always worse.but, sounds like your getting through it. i would do push ups or whatever to burn off the energy, even in middle of night. dont give up it gets better, and with exerciseyou can be almost as calm as taking pills every day.@@Ohkeh640

I had a seizure from Valium withdrawals. Just dropped at work and woke up in a ambulance being rushed to hospital. Didn’t know my name or where I was when I woke up. Taper off, don’t go cold turkey.
I can relate and I feel you. Hugs. And overprescribing and at young ages. I may stay on em for life cause it probably will be safer at this point sadly.

@@aashish551 hey!!I wasn’t on Xanax but I was on up to 30mg a day of Valium and minimum 15mg a day for over a year and a half..I’m at 4 weeks clean right now..the first 2 weeks were just like you said violently shaking,my heart was going crazy with heart rate..after about 8-9 days the physical symptoms start to taper off and in 2-3 weeks you should be feeling pretty normal..stay strong!
You need to learn what they are all about. 1. To stop seizures, 2. Stomach problems. 3. PTS. If a person is monitored they do fine. Benzos can save a person's life!!! It's the safest for seizures!!!
@@exidon2799you better go to a doctor that will give them to you for life you better get a young doctor and you better understand if you get injured and need pain meds they will not allow you to have both meds they used to allow that back in my day but if your on a heavy benzo dose like 4-6 mg of Xanax then yeah they will not allow you to have any strong pain meds they will tell you that you can choose between one or the other say you get in a car wreck and need opiates they will see that your on benzos and they will say they can't give you anything strong for pain and like I said if you do get on them just know your most likely going to be dependent on them for the rest of your life there are some doctors that don't have a problem with that but also alot of Dr really don't like prescribing them because they are so addictive Xanax is pretty hard for a first time benzo probably give you Klonopin the lowest mg like .25 .05 mg if you were 25 30 years old back in the late 90s early 2000s you could get a Dr to give you all the Xanax and pain meds you would ever need they don't do that these days you have to be old like me and be a part of that generation they are trying to not start young ppl on these kinds of drugs anymore be happy your not going to lose your life to these drugs the put me on benzos and opiates at 25 and Im 52 and still have issues because of heavy use it robbed me I don't remember 20 you of my life I thought I needed them you don't really need them until you've been on them and they take them away then you really have anxiety issues using these drugs actually makes your anxiety worse Yes they feel awesome but if you run out your going to be in agony
Well i used benzo for almost 6 to 7 years i was an addict i used to eat 15 pills 1 mg daily and weeeds one day i got into jail and then it happens i lose countrol i was sweating having the worst headaches my heart was coming into my mouth and then seizures came and i lost my memory it took 2 months to recover and back to my senses and i can assure you all that it was the worst days of my life.
My doc hasn’t refilled my prescription and I called n back n forth to pharmacist and the office n I have another week till I see him idk why they always r it short n now I’m going through this I feel like I’m about to end up in the ER I want to throw up, feel like I’m going to have a heart attack, head hurts, ect God help me I take the low dose too n as told I eventually want to stop but not cold turkey and this isn’t even my choice this is due to mistake by doc office I feel for anyone who shoes through this May God be with u

@@Ohkeh640 ..ok so did you cold turkey the Valium? You HAVE to VERY slowly taper off it it, according to how your symptoms are. Every one is different. The doctors don't know much about safe tapering so it's good you are reaching out for help. Comment back to let me know you got this reply.

I'm coming off 15mg and am down to 2.5mgs but yes this has come on the last two months as well as change in bowel habit. This torture can mimic every disease process!
@@yehudityishai3542research chemical benzos, which are sold online without prescription and are not accepted on the market. Usually comes in way stronger forms, which makes the chance higher for dependance. Having it myself aswell
I take both benzo and ssri and have been for 8 years. I'm one of those people that can't function without them. And I don't mean from withdrawals, I mean the worst I've ever felt in my entire life before I started taking them. 0.5mg of clonazepam per day does me well. I'm prescribed 1mg but only take half that, because it's all I need.
@@velroneramdon2289 What exactly are you taking? For how long and what dosis? I have pretty much just finished my withdrawal. It is usually the best to reduce it in very small steps and replace Xanax with a benzo that is less potent and has a longer half-life period, like Oxazepam. And dont worry, if you reduce it slowly, you wont go insane, it's just going to be unpleasant, but thats worth it.
Everyone is unique different reaction I'm on 5 months 0.5 rivotril I'm tapering now I'm on 1/8 tab of it within 6 weeks period I can feel the withrawal like ants biting my whole body itchy some mood disturbance and sleepless nights but not as bad it's manageable...I will steady on this dose after this I I felt stabilize I will go down again and jump off for 8 weeks period....cause I don't like to be in long term with this medicine...LORD🙏💖 help me..

NO WAY it’s only a week you’ve obviously never had to withdraw from benzos bud .. the withdrawal can take years and it’s because it’s literal brain damage caused by down regulation of GABA receptors .. After i stopped doning benzos, i had DT's for 2 weeks and basiscly lost my mind. After about 6 months i lost the cravings but not 100%. If i have anxiety i always want a benzo because i know that it stops it and also sometimes i just wanna feel good ngl
Was taking 80mg Valium a day at my peak for 3 years. I was taking down slowly for 8 months. I am now sober 3 years and the craving still comes through. Benzos are HELL but also Heaven
I’ve experienced withdrawals from liquor and opiates and benzos. And I can full heartedly say that my benzodiazepine withdrawals were 10 times worse than anything. And that’s saying a lot bcuz my opiate withdrawals were pretty bad

I got addicted to Xanax, it lasted only a couple of months (around 4/5), i get over the physical abstinence in like a month, tho I still have cravings sometimes, especially when I'm anxious

I went from 250mg methadone a day for 2.5yrs to zero overnight… absolutely the worst withdrawal I’ve ever experienced and the nurse told me I’d be back to the clinic in 3days… detoxed myself at home with my family, ice cream, jello, chicken soup and Gatorade. It took me 15 days to kick the symptoms and finally sleep and 45 days to start feeling better… haven’t had the desire to use heroin/opiates/methadone in 20+ years and lost my desire to use through the Grace of God, 12 steps, and a spiritual awakening. If I can stay off the shit as long as I have I promise you can too, and I promise you’ll reach a time in your life where you never think about using that bullshit again. ❤
I am glad God helped you through, however you weren’t taking benzodiazepines. It’s absolute hell to get off and some folks never get complete healing of the CNS
Didn’t say anything about withdrawal, withdrawing sucks. The obsession was removed however and I don’t dwell upon that problem anymore. I have new problems and new pain today. But it’s way better than where I was years ago thinking any hard drugs would help me with my life. Shoot the physical pain I’m in today can’t even be solved with medication so I’ve given up on that idea. But it kind of sounds like you need to get out of the problem and into the solution. Week or less? Bruh this seems like a never ending ride. Went from xanax 3mg a dag to ativan 2.5/5mg a day. Quit for + a week but traded it for codeine and oxy use. Only way i could sleep w/o getting crazy. Now i quit weed as well for 3 days. Only way i could sleep is on a lot of alcohol or either stay up for 2 days and wait till i get tired (could be during the day or 6 in the morning)

Dangerous advice! Never go to a facility to detox unless you have no other option for instance if you are having paradoxical reactions and need to come off quickly. Always consult your doctor and arrange a slow taper to avoid any complications like protracted withdrawal syndrome.
I was on benzos for 25 years went to a rehab was taking off in 10 days it's almost 5 years later and I'm still going through hell this guy has no clue what he's talking about and sure he works for a detox center learn something about what you're talking about and for those of you out there who are on benzo's find somebody that can tape for you very very slowly Good luck

Please I need help I take diazepam for 3 months I take the first month 2 pills everyday at once (20mg) And the second two months I take 30mg everyday at once I stopped it abruptly and after 3 days I got many symptoms (muscle severe pain and insomnia fatigue shaking paranoia anxiety and depression and angriness and I feel my brain is weird like brain zap or brain fog ) Please tell me your opinion how much my symptoms will last ? I have no cravings at all I actually feel bad giving in to the addiction I hate benzos. Any tips to get off them? My doc denies that 0,25mg/0,5mg instant release exist and to be honest tapering 0,5mg xr is too much I think there won't be much difference between cold turkey and tapering 0,5mg xr because they take so long to hit so as soon as I get in panic mode I'm already hours late taking them. I will not go to a supervised facility because here in the EU they don't know sjjhit about xanax, they gave me 2mg xr pills to taper to 1,5mg per dose 2 times a day but the only option was 2mg per day instead of 3 or to take 4mg per day I choose to dose 4mg per day instead of tapering to 2mg xr once a day from 3mg ir taken throughout the day in 0,5mg/1mg doses. The 2mg IR bars aren't available in EU that's why

Please I need help I take diazepam for 3 months I take the first month 2 pills everyday at once (20mg) And the second two months I take 30mg everyday at once I stopped it abruptly and after 3 days I got many symptoms (muscle severe pain and insomnia fatigue shaking paranoia anxiety and depression and angriness and I feel my brain is weird like brain zap or brain fog ) Please tell me your opinion how much my symptoms will last ? Should I come back to take diazepam and then taper it slowly or I wait I didnt take it for 18 days but I still have the symptoms specially the brain zap Please any advice would be appreciated
Trust me he’s bang on my first week was coke I was hallucinating I wanted sleep but couldn’t I kept thinking I am going to die and death and what’s after death non stop full grade panic attack weak I never ate full 7 days I w take methadoen that didn’t even toutch the sides!!!!
Think you’re a bit behind on yr best practices for kicking/tapering xanax/benzos. Info & advice are dated. Lotta YTubers/coaches/drs/benzo coalition all posting more heavily on social media, esp. since the fda black-boxed benzos in 2020. Evidence-based, as in originating in patients speaking up, not outdate, double-blind, ‘expert’ research, is leading the path.
I wouldn’t get discouraged by the horrific stuff people say in the net about benzo withdrawal. Me personally I took for 3 years very high amounts of xanax and other Benzos a day(around 150mg diazepam equivalent, tapered down to 60mg in the end) and could easily without much issues get away from them. Id advise everybody who plans a withdrawal to go to a medic facility to be supervised for the first 2 weeks of the withdrawal. My symptoms were mildly fortunately, didn’t have any seizures, still it was a bit uncomfortable but not dangerous. Sleep is good, mood is a bit cold but beside that all is fine. You can definitely make it! I couldn’t have thought to live a day without benzos, two months ago, but i managed to get off of them.

Taper under guidance of a doctor or addiction doctor. I just did it and I'm calm and free. This guy is a benzo patient's nightmare! Cravings?! This is misinformation.
Im withdrawing from combining them with alcohol. Pray I font die. My blood pressure spikes up to 180 and heart rate at 140. Shaking and hallucinating and dying.
