For me, Berberine works! When my fasting blood sugar goes from 127 to 93 after two weeks on this, I’m sold on it! I’m waiting to see what more will this product do for me.
Either I am confused or you misunderstand the two different eating lifestyles vegans are non meat eater's and carnivores are meat and protein. They are opposites.@@masakitube
I was in my 50's when I was put on Metformin and hadn't been on it but about 6 months or so when I started to not be able to keep food down. I had test ran and found out I had gastroparesis which just means a paralyzed stomach and very likely was caused by the Metformin I eventually ended up on an insulin pump and desided to try the keto diet after hearing it can reverse type 2 diabetes. It really worked I got off the pump and all diabetic type meds and dropped 62 lbs over 1 year.
After hearing about berberine, I was excited and hopeful to start taking it, as a Type 1 diabetic. Well after consuming a large bottle, 500 mg x 4 /day, I can report it did absolutely nothing for my blood sugars but it caused MAJOR stomach issues for the duration. Those issues didn't suddenly appear right after I took the pills (when I take alpha lipoic acid, I get a burning in my esophagus shortly after if I don't take it with food, for instance); it was a certain times of the day, or on some days it was an all day discomfort. As the discomfort did not happen right after taking the pills, it took awhile to figure it out. I do have low stomach acid and indigestion flair ups on an irregular basis, but these things were happening every day. So as soon as I stopped taking berberine, all those issue cleared up. phew!
metformin has some terrible side effects if used for a long time IE: uncontrolled diarrhea. I know it happened to me stopped the med and the stools went back to normal. Working with my NPR to find what will work for me.
Years ago I took 500mg berberine twice daily for about 6 months with a reduced carb diet plus weekly HIIT and lost about 25+ lbs which then stabilized at 20 lbs reduction over the years. Now I take berberine occasionally, to manage satiety. Seeing a doctor in Canada has become difficult due to what happened over the last 3 years so I no longer bother. It takes 10 days to just get a phonecall from my GP who is a nice person but unfortunately not very knowledgeable.
Berberine has apparently been shown to interfere with the absorption of B12 and iron, but I do not know if that is true, because it contradicts other reports that say it does not cause any problems. I also saw reports that the iron chelating ability of berberine could be considered a benefit in relation to iron overload. At any rate, it is commonly recommended that Berberine is cycled to reduce some undesirable negative effects.
IF YOU ARE DIABETIC - You should be taking 1000mg twice a day. For a total of 2000mg a day. To help with insulin resistance. Did wonders for me. My doctor was impressed.
I appreciate your information . Very informative. Love that you shared that there is NOT much difference between taking Berberine & Dihydroberberine…especially for the price difference. And for those talking Metformin .. so great that you shared the difference between it & Berberine in terms of one being controlled & the other not controlled - so that can effect the dosage. Bless you!!!, New sub 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Well done explanation of berberine. You answered my questions and pointed out the subtleties too. Your way of teaching is very good and straightforward. Your research shows and saves us time.
Metformin has been around 20 years? Berberine 5,000 years, i want to know if it is habit forming, needs to be cycled, will mess up metabolism in long run.
I've taken both to control diabetes type2. Metformin was definitely more effective (for me, everyone is different) but I eventually had to stop taking it due to painful muscle aches and cramps. I'm now on Januvia along with berberine because I'm constantly hungry now, but the berberine does help with appetite.
I recently learned that Metformin depletes vitamin B12 which is necessary for nerve conduction. Reduce or deplete B12 will cause neuropathy. Tingling, and pain/aching in the legs.
I speak from experience that Berberine works for reducing the A1C. Mine has gone from 6.4 to 5.6 since I started taking it about 8 months ago. And, that’s with me changing nothing else. No dietary changes and no more exercise other than the occasional walk I take.
we started taking hydro berberine, the more bio available version and we have been very impressed with the effects. We also started using weight...not even by realizing that was a possibility. We agree with you
20 years ago my husband took 500 mg with every meal of the day and lost 30 kg in 3 months! He was heavy over weighted. So I am sure it works in the right dose.
You know you do a good job about telling us about the products that don't work how about making some videos on products that do work because we have become trustworthy of your opinion.
Thanks for this video. Just to let you know I’m listening with AirPods and the music is so loud and make much noise then your voice. It will be good not have music
Berberine lower cholesterol by acting as weak pcsk9 inhibitor. As such may be a beneficial adjunct to statin therapy since the latter is accompanied by an elevation of PCSK9 levels, which limit the efficacy of statins. Can you do an episode on cholesterol lowering using berberine? Not much money to be made from promoting berberine vs the new pcsk9 inhibitor drugs though.
Based on recent studies, it's believed that the reason berberine lowers blood sugar levels is because it prevents the absorption of sugar and not only of sugar but potentially of other nutrients as well. So it's not a great idea to use it for extended periods of time.
Good berberine formulations without fillers: NOW with capric acid (from MCT oil) Paradise Herbs Berberine Extract (get some of their milk thistle to go with it).
I have an interesting story. At 41 I was pregnant with my 1st child. Historically, both my sisters has challenging pregnancy issues including gestational diabetes. I did not eat well. I am a sugar addict and do have signs of insulin resistance. I ate several rice puddings per day and never got GD. I would pour heavy amounts of cinnamon with every bite of pudding. I wonder if that had anything to do with me not getting GD. In fact I felt fantastic, though I had autoimmune issues aside from my advanced age.
Can anyone give me your stories of side effects what were they did you push through did they go away any useful tips please I did about 5 days with taking 1 with food and lots of water with my first meal of the day with the expectation to up it to 2 but my side effects were a weird nausea feeling and a feeling of blacking out. Don't know if i should push though and itll go away or theres some tips. Ive stopped taking them for now
This stuff made me lose 16 pounds and 13 days. At first, it made me eat less than I lost my appetite. Then I had bouts of diarrhea, which would come and go. I just ate a protein and a vegetable And had orgain as a meal replacement. The diarrhea got bad. Exploding diarrhea. I had to constantly drink water. I have stopped now I was at 194. I’m at 177. I would not do this again. Sad thing as I thought it would clear my skin a little bit better, I didn’t care about losing a few pounds.
Excellent presentation except you left one thing out- considering where they are made chances are met Forman is made in China -considering what happen with Zantac I think it matters
Dr i don’t know if this if your field or not but i hit my head close to 6 years ago now it was hard but no blood or anything ive never had any problems with it other than the the odd feeling something happeing!i get nervey pains then they go but i sleep funny so I think it could be poor back posture I’m paranoid about it and would like to ask you if I would ever know if their was a aneurysm or a bleed after so long? I would like to pay for a private MIR scan but I’m bothered about the radiation please can you shed some light
I fell a lot in the past and hit my head whiplash my neck falling asleep in the bus then I slipped down my daughters stairs now it was my birthday when i slipped no I wasn’t drunk 😂slipped on some plastic later I drank one angry apple not really a drinker woke up the next morning to go the bathroom and my body was pulling to left like I was gonna fall over I felt sluggish like I was drunk but I knew I wasn’t so I started cryin I couldn’t stay upright so my husband took me to the hospital and they said I had Vertigo took an mri they did a cat scan nothing showed up but I definitely had vertigo so they prescribed motion sickness pills it helped with 10% of the discomfort but didn’t take it away I took it away by going online finding my own solution which a half somersault position and turning my head slowly to try then the left you can hear the loose crystals in my ear .The video said do this to put back the crystals I swear it worked even tho I thought it wouldn’t it sounded crazy doing a half somersault when your head is feeling discombobulated. But it works took me a day to get relief two days to be completely back to normal my point is look into Vertigo see if you have similar symptoms I have my head so many times and whiplash I think my head had enough and vertigo was the result I was scared of the car scan for 2 reason I’m claustrophobic and I was afraid of the radiation also from the machine but I needed to know that I didn’t have a tumor so I didn’t to each it’s own but you have to be your own dr before you go to the dr
I take berberine to help with blood glucose control, not weight loss. I'm not (pre)diabetic, but I thought my HbA1c 5.4 was too high. I saw a recommendation that Berberine is taken with either capric acid (from MCT oil) or milk thistle. I've tried berberine by itself and that did help, but saw an improvement with capric acid. So much of an improvement that I changed from 3 times a day to twice a day. I've got some milk thistle, so will also give that a go in a few weeks.
@@mickyinwonderland9020 it wasn't nearly as good as Berberine with capric acid. These days I'm not often taking Berberine. Possibly milk thistle even by itself has some benefits.
I know that you're young and still learning but I'd like to make a suggestion. When discussing any substance you should include the side effects. You did with Berberine but neglected to inform the audience that Metformin is known to cause the loss of muscle. You know! The term doctors use called "muscle wasting". I look forward to following you as you get older and gain more experience in your profession.
Chris The Hacker, i love you dude! I would've never expected to find your comment on a video, but i guess Stageman still comes in stages, hahaha. Hey, i just want to say i hope you're doing good and i hope that you've been able to completely move on after all those prank callers and that you have a stable life. We talked about 11 years ago and had a nice conversation. I'm from Massachusetts myself, and i felt really bad for you having to shut down the business and move to Florida, i think they should have quit bothering you back then. I've prayed for you, i know it wasn't easy for you. Still, thanks for making me laugh the times that you did as a troubled youth, and know you've got my respect. Please let me know how you're doing, thanks and God bless!
Berberine affects gluconeogensis; the creation of glucose from protein. Some people can still get high blood glucose even if they don't eat any carbs or sugar. I do agree with real food with no sugar/carbs or processed foods.
Metformin is cheaper than berberine even without insurance.. M has dozens of generics, no money to be made. How exactly is the doctor making money prescribing M?
