Dr. Brewer, my husband has been taking one pill a day one hour before dinner and he lowered his cholesterol by about 15% in 3 months.. Everything went down, except his HDL, which went up. He has no side effects. Amazon has hundreds positive reviews. I should be the one taking it as my cholesterol levels are high, but I’m too busy to remember to take it. My calcium score is 34, so more of the reason to take it. Thanks for your educational videos.

Was the bergamot the only dietary change prior to or during this time period? Was there an increase in physical activity prior to or during this time period? Now, two yes on, what were the long term results? How long did he use bergamot and is he still using it today?
@krissto22
@krissto22 2 года назад
@@richardmann3396 Yes, he is still using it, maybe not religiously every day but on average every other day. His numbers were good last year and he’s going for his yearly physical next week, so I’ll post his numbers. His diet before included foods with just too much sodium, ie. pretzels, chips, popcorn, crackers, etc. we didn’t eliminate all but we don’t consume as much as we used to. We stick to fruits more, home cooked meals, we try to eat healthy. We also take one multivitamin and extra D3+K2. If we eat bad one day we try to eat good the next 5 days or so. We also stay active as much as possible but not to the point of stressing our bodies too much. Walking, biking, or home remodeling😊 are good.

@@krissto22 Stay away from all sugar. No Pasta and Keto only bread.
@krissto22
@krissto22 2 года назад
@@MrGeorgewf yep, many things changed since my comment 2 years ago. It’s hard to stay on keto when you have a large family and everybody’s diets are different, lol. My hubby really fell off the wagon and now he’s trying to climb back up on keto. He’s been eating lots of carbs the last couple years-breads, pastas, ice cream, cookies, snacks, drinks ie. lemonades and beer, but not too often. His fasting glucose was 100 last time he checked where mine was 87. I told him that’s prediabetic. It needs to be less than 100, much less but he won’t listen because it’s still within the “range”. He gets these hunger pangs and snacks late at night without thinking anything of it. He doesn’t want me to tell him what to eat so I just gave up on it. He is lucky that he keeps busy otherwise he’d probably gain at least 50 lbs more. I on the other hand am trying to eliminate the breads, pastas, and all the sugary stuff. I do watch what I eat. Started ketovore recently and I’m feeling much better already. No more IBS, bloating, etc. I only eat at lunch and dinner. I may snack on a handful of fruits or nuts, but that’s about it. Not much salads or veggies as they make me sick. Meats don’t. I do take all different supplements which I alternate. I do need to increase my intake of Omega3. My cholesterol went down from 260 to 211. Actually all the numbers came back much lower except for HDL which went up to 70. Even my doctor was in shock. I also do strength training exercises with stretches, walking 2-3 miles per day and biking weather permitted. So, there you have it. It’s hard to eliminate all the sugars, especially when out and about with family or friends, but I’m sticking to it. Oh, forgot to add no processed foods to that list and if I have to use something processed I make sure I read the label first.

What if I opined that most cholesterol screw ups are caused by liver damage caused by too much fat embedded deep in the liver, which got there by chronically eating too high of a carb/sugar diet which drove insulin, which caused excess fat storage, which caused the liver damage. It would explain why people get heart disease only after decades of damage due to poor eating. People usually never get heart disease before 30 since the liver damage hasn’t been that extensive by 30. But 20 more years of bad diet, then you’re talking some damage.
@PrevMedHealth

I think you might find a lot of agreement out there. I think there is a sugar contribution. But I’m not sure if this is bigger than the issue of fat in muscle fibers. It’s probably both.

So, what about those who take Statins who have the pain and muscle aches. My husband had a HA in October and since starting on Statins, he’s having horrible body aches and pains. Couldn’t figure it out till I started searching for an answer. He sees the cardio for a follow up next week. But I know we are in for a fight about lowering or discontinuing the Statins. Besides, I’m not crazy about the ties to taking Statins and higher diabetes and dementia risks. Thoughts?

@@lisahause8705 You can find seed in amazon. If you are in a cold, or moderate climate like most of the US, start the seed in pots, indoors, about 6-8 before the warmer part of the growing season starts. I am in N. Arkansas and we set it outside by May. Frost will kill it. I have had it get from seed to 10' tall in one summer. Uncooked it is very bitter if you try to consume a lot at one sitting, but seasonings of soup fix that. Cooking it you just put in the soup towards the end of cookibg the soup so you don't cook out nutrients. Dried in a capsulse, no matter, as you know it goes past the taste buds 😁😁😄 Good luck!

Thoughts on using Bergamot instead of Red Yeast Rice for lowering LDL?
