Great review on the accuracy of the rifle. I have the same rifle in 308 (my first Bergara) and it shoots as well as my $5,000 ground-up professionally built custom rifle. I only shoot hand loads and it shoots everything well, but with Sierra 155-grain Palma Match bullets it consistently shoots about 0.3 inches at 100 yards when I do my part. That is impressive for a $1,000 out-of-the-box rifle.
Hand loading is definitely where you achieve the highest levels of accuracy and get to save a little bit of money. You get to really build a bullet based on the needs of the rifle. I would like to start reloading in order to get more velocity and accuracy out of all my rifles but it is a time consuming endeavor.
I appreciate your support and encouragement. RU-vid makes it so hard to make money as a gun channel though that I am not being properly compensated for my time. Maybe as the channel grows I will be able to actually buy the bullets that I use to shoot the videos.
@@kristijanmedved6066 Bergara makes all their own barrels and they have proven to be a very accurate rifle. The wilderness with the thumbhole stock appears to have a similar profile barrel but it is focused on being lighter weight so the barrel is fluted and 2" shorter. I am sure there is also weight saved in the stock and they were able to drop 2 pounds from the B14 HMR weight. I would expect this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor to shoot very well.
Great video, I am putting together the same set up but with a 20 MOA rail. Just wanted to confirm the link you provided for your scope rings, that they are 0.96" high rings?
Yeah, me and you were bickering about something dumb and I forgot to bring the camera out. But you are still my witness to that shot! That would have been epic footage.
@@DesertLongRange Remington 700 with the heavy profile barrel. It was made before an investment group bought Remington. But .308 is the way to go... ammo is cheaper and is perfect for deer hunting.
@@rudder727 I had a Remington 700 in 308 before and I loved it. It was for my son and in his opinion it kicked too much. I am looking to get something light weight for hunting
Bro, kill your hearing all you want. Please put ear pro on your boy! Coming from someone with horrible tinnitus, you shouldn't subject your kid to that.
