I'm shooting the Bergara B14r with a DiscoveryOPT 5x30x56 scope.I replaced the stock trigger with a TriggerTech 700 Special. The trigger pull is 6.8 oz. My ammunition for matches is Eley Team. For practice, I utilize SK Standard Plus. Most of my shooting is at 100-yards at the Izaak Walton League of America range in Fort Wayne, Indiana where I'm also an NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer. I have fired my B14r against the ARA Factory target @ 50-yards and scored the maximum of 2500. I'm also shooting 5-shot groups at 100-yards that average .755" inches. I shoot from a concrete shooting bench and utilize a Caldwell Rock BR front mount and a Caldwell bag in the rear. I traded in my CZ457 MTR for my Bergara and I'm pleased with the results. Currently, I'm the only one at my range who shoots a Bergara B14r but I'm guessing that will be changing very soon.
I have 1-3# Trigger Tech triggers in both of mine (steel & carbon). Highly recommend the upgrade over the factory trigger. Good choice of scope. Great clarity at 100 yds.
I have a TT Diamond that I'll install in my 6.5cm HMR & order another one to go in the B14-R that's inbound to my FFL now. I've sorta gone nuts over getting these two guns set up like I've wanted.
I swapped out to a Trigger Tech trigger, 16 oz, Vortex Venom 5x25 x56 scope, in Arken rings, stock chassis, Atlas bipod, shooting Eley Match ammo, steel barrel, it shoots, and I mean shoots fantastic!
My b14r shoots extremely well with the following ammo in this order , sk rifle match, sk pistol match, sk standard + , cci sv, “Hates Norma tc-22” Rifle match is my 100y go to , currently I have an element helix on it “not bad but not great” I have an arken ep5 going to be delivered soon, one other thing I’ve found is that this Bergara doesn’t like high velocity ammo, would I buy another one if need be “in a ny minute”. Shoots every bit as well as my cz457 varmint precision trainer MTR, I’m picking up a Bergara bxr in a cpl weeks hope it is as good, My only bitch about my b14r is it only shipped with one magazine and it works flawlessly, the only place I could find spares was europtics and the package says Bergara and they say they are factory but I’m not believing it they do not work nearly as well as the one that came with the rifle. Keep these .22 videos coming please. Very much enjoy them!!!!!!👍. Thanks
First of thanks!!!!! And great to hear what works in ur rifle... it sucks cuz we just can't go get any ammo here in missouri still is pretty scarce... iv hurd good things about the arken scope let me know how u like it! And I definitely hope to make several more videos. I have another coming out tomarrow
I've ordered a couple more factory mags from Carolina Caliber....store out of Winterville, NC. Bought a B14 sporter .308Win from them....great deer rifle. Trusted dealer.
@@DubfromGA I need a cpl more mags but not until I can get them directly from Bergara themselves, the ones I bought from europtics or anarchy can’t remember which place these came from were packaged as and stamped as Bergara. But to this day I believe they are clones being sold as authentic, they don’t work even close to as good as the one that came with the rifle
Ouch.....that absolutely sucks that we have to watch out for counterfeit garbage. I learned my lesson with pocketknives & sunglasses......bought what I thought were actual Spyderco & Oakley products only to find out later they weren't.....at least the lesson wasn't too expensive.....a buddy of mine got taken on a knockoff scope.....he's still mad as fire about that, years later. I will keep that in mind on the additional mags....I'll put some calipers on mine when they arrive and evaluate with scrutiny.
That looks like a good shooter 👍 I was looking at the bergara but couldn’t find one. Wound up getting the CZ 457 vpt and put the Riton X5 conquer 5-25 on it and it’s shooting great. Trying to get my buddie to order a bergara soon so we can do a shoot off between them.
I have got three cz457s and I have 419 rails zeiss 3x18x5o scopes and timmney triggers on all three set on one lbs they are some fine shooting rifles. Yours in the sport Beagleman
Enjoying your videos. I'm just at the beginning stages of getting the gear needed for enjoying one of these B14-R rifles. Went with the steel barreled version. Dumb question.....but is there anything useful for "pre-treating" the barrel with ? Wasn't sure if a patch of some type of bore conditioner would help cut down on the round count needed to get steady results after cleaning & swapping ammo ???? New guy question, lol.
Each brand of ammo uses there own wax on the bullet. It will take 10-20rds to wax up your barrel. Then your accuracy will improve. I clean my rifle if I switch bullet types... like sk to norma ect. That way I get clean bore with 1 type of wax in it... that's how I do it. Others have different options, but that is how I do it.
Cool. Thanks for the insight. This is going to be big fun. I needed a new hobby and the distance shooting appealed to me....just never had the time....now I find myself with the time. This rimfire trainer will be great. My normal range runs out to 200yds. I'm going to get well acclimated in dialing in scope settings with 22lr. It'll certainly help get more comfortable for when I make the drive to the 800+ yd ranges with the centerfire guns.
That is super, One of my target guns is a Ruger PR in .308. It'll be super to have roughly similar ballistics. I seem to learn best by DOING vs READING. The hands-on turret & reticle use with the .22lr will hopefully help get more comfortable behind the trigger. I know that gauging wind is going to be a slow process....more trigger time will have to help......hopefully.
