Great video, I’ve watched these before after I bought my Bergara HMR 308 but due to Covid and moving back to TN it’s been a safe queen. I’ve shot maybe 50+ rounds through it shooting 7.62x51 surplus when I first got it and was really impressed how well it shot. So, it’s three years later and I’ve finally mounted a good scope and started loading some good starter ammo for it and hopefully have it dialed in soon. I do have plenty of brass prepped while stuck at home during the pandemic. You did a great job on the video, really appreciate all the time and effort, they were as good as I remember the first time I watched them. I’ve bought lots of bullets from 110gr to 180gr, looking forward to see what it can do. Thank you very much
That was a good review. I got a B14HMR-308 cal. for Christmas and have been testing various ammo. I got 0.5 moa(6 shot group) at 100 yds in an indoor range. The ammo was Ferderal Non Typical Whitetail -150 gr.soft point. Specs: 2850 muzzle velocity, 2648 ft-lbs. This ammo is very repeatable. This was shot on 2-15-18. I am using a Primary Arms 4-14x44 HUD DMR-308 retical mil to mil scope.I wonder how the NEW B14 HMR Pro is going to shoot? I would recommend this bergara B14HMR to anyone who likes to hunt and target shoot and get great accuracy. I have shot only about 90 rounds thru the gun. I am looking forward to shooting this gun at longer distances.
Larry Smith I’m looking at the premier ridgeback looks like the HMR pro with a slightly different stock in .308. The weight concerns me for a hunting rifle but everyone seems to really like these rifles. I’m looking forward to it. Only thing now is should I get a FFP scope or a SFP scope. Never hinted with a FFP scope so not sure how they are for hunting.
I bought this rifle in the premier pro hmr 308.. I love the bolt and trigger on my rifle can't wait to get the scope on it... I have a nikon m308 scope and a leupold vx 2 4-20... I'm kind of in limbo about which scope to use.
DUKE M4 I’m about to get a bergara myself man. Hearing nothing but good things about em. A .308 bolt action is next on my list just choosing the right one for shooting and hunting.
I bought a Bergara .308. I love it! It's my favorite bolt gun. I say get it! It's crazy accurate & an amazing weapon. I can't wait to take her hunting with my brothers.
@@intj7447 Have you taken it out yet? Would love to hear your thoughts. Also which barrel length did you opt for considering you’re hunting? I hear it’s light enough to take hunting but leans toward the heavy side (then again it must be durable).
@@justarred2175 I took it to the range to get it zero. I'm very happy with my shot groups & I don't consider myself any kind of sharpshooter. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24″ and includes a thread protector. My brother prefers my rifle over his & is thinking about getting one in 6.5 cm which has a slightly longer barrel.
@@justarred2175 It is on the heavy side for me. I would recommend a good comfortable sling. That's what I did. I'm already looking forward to Fall season!
Hi would you use this for prone shooting with a good scope ? Excellent review once I get your answer that’s what I’m going to get hopefully Scope ? Bushnell Nightforce ?.
Hi! Great video bro! Do you know what is the difference between Bergara b14 HMR and b14 wilderness HMR? I wanna buy one of them but don't know who is better long range rifle.
@@OverDose775 lol...that seems like the difference...they are priced similarly..so id say the Wilderness HMR has a few cosmetic features for harsh environments...other than that..not much difference...
@@7N6ballistics bro i thank you so much for the responding! I will buy b14hmr for long range hunting and off season just long range shooting. Can you tell me is b14 .308 good for hunting?
Love the content in all parts. I saw you had a 20 moa on it. I pick up my .308 hmr on Sunday. How much adjustment do you have to do for a 100 yd zero with a 20 moa mount?
I have a 0 moa and a 20 moa mount. I plan to put my vortex diamondback on it once I get it. Which do you think I should put on it. I dont have the distance to shoot a 1k yds, but will a 0 moa rail let me shoot at that distance with a diamondback?
Joe Young 43.25 moa of elevation was needed...so it depends on the adjustment range of the scope..as well as how close to center it actually zeroes...personally with a .308 it would probably be best to go 20moa if you intend on anything past 800...
@@7N6ballistics I'll probably just throw on the 0moa mount. I doubt I'll be shooting anything past 500 yds. Thanks again for the great knowledge and video.
Mr. Plainview not much to not like...probably can’t go wrong with either. I personally like the look of the HMR...since I can’t find anything to really ding it on..especially for the price... I’ve heard good things about Tikka as well.
@@bwizzy9218 powder burn in those calibers requires longer barrels…there is also intent to consider. Most people aren’t using a .308 as a 1st choice for shooting in excess of 1,000yds.
@@7N6ballistics thanks very much, new to long rang shooting, I just bought your same gun only in 6.5 creedmoore. I couldnt find one in 308 as thats what I like to shoot.
Powder burn and velocity are less affected by the shorter barrel in .308. Though I would think a 20” barrel would be sufficient in 6.5 as well....but thats how they decided to produce them.
