One of the more important but often overlooked modifications to any kayak would be adding something to protect the nose or bottom of the bow of your kayak. Although this area does seem to have a little more thickness, it will take an extra beating and I think it's worth adding a buffer so that your hull lasts longer.
I can't tell you how many videos I've seen on people trying to save money by making their own temporary or permanent solutions to this, but for $45 I think it's worth skipping the headache and just buying the berley pro bumper bro keel guard and epoxying it with weather-resistant 2-part epoxy.
