"Sen. Bernie Sanders lambasted fellow Sen. Joe Manchin on Sunday for sinking the Democratic Party's latest effort to pass renewable energy funding, accusing the West Virginia Democrat of acting on behalf of his corporate and billionaire donors instead of the working class of his home state.
Rejecting the notion that Manchin "abruptly pulled the plug" on the majority party's revived push for a scaled-back reconciliation package ahead of the November midterms, Sanders told ABC's Martha Raddatz that there was "nothing new" about the West Virginia senator's move last week, when he reportedly told the Democratic leadership that he wouldn't support new climate spending or taxes on the wealthy.
Senate Democrats now plan to push ahead with an even narrower bill that would extend soon-to-expire Affordable Care Act subsidies and let Medicare negotiate the prices of some prescription drugs directly with pharmaceutical companies.
"If you check the record, six months ago I made it clear that you have people like Manchin, [Sen. Kyrsten] Sinema to a lesser degree, who are intentionally sabotaging the president's agenda, what the American people want, what a majority of us in the Democratic caucus want," Sanders said Sunday."

Wealthy-class right-wingers, and working-class right-wingers for that matter, care more about themselves and their own families than they care about working-class families or the collective of society at large. Joe Biden is a wealthy-class right-winger. Biden has family who will still be alive when he passes on. He cares more about the future projection of his wealthy-class, right-wing family than he cares about the future of working-class families, or the country at large. Same as wealthy-class right-winger, Joe Manchin. This is all theatrics put on by wealthy-class right-wingers. They put on an act in public to confuse and pacify the working-class. Then they work together behind the scenes to advance the agenda of wealthy-class right-wingers. The Joe's are playing nice with each other for the sake of their wealthy-class families, and to continue the mob-rule of the wealthy-class right-wing minority over the working-class majority.

To answer more directly: You asked, "Why does he care if he hurts Joe Manchin’s feelings..." Answer: It's not that Biden cares if he hurts Manchin's feelings. That is not even a question, because Biden has no intention of hurting Manchin's feelings in reality, because they are both in on the theatrical-ruse together. Even if it appears that Biden has hurt Manchin's feelings, it isn't real. It's all part of the act.

@@WaLTeRDeFiNiS Yeah, this has actually been a thought that’s been running through my head for a little bit, but I feel like after the midterms, progressives will have a way to not make this happen. A progressive candidate, well in the sense of what’s considered progressive in this country, is not all that likely to win a primary election, especially in the state the country’s in with legalized bribery happening. It’s because 1, that’s how the dems make money and 2, they help hold up the status quo, and their donors don’t want someone like Bernie to fight against it. However, neolibs and corporate Democrats need to realize that going progressive is our only way out, as a lot of things that the voters want are extremely popular and other countries have these things. So I think we should inform these people on these policies and why they’ll end up positively affecting the country.

To repeat something I've written multiple times before: I once saw this political cartoon where there was a map of the United States of America. In the image, all of the landlocked states were in red with 1 big word bubble that said "climate change is a myth." Meanwhile, all of the coastal & southern border states were blue with multiple word bubbles that said "we beg to differ" since the landlocked states don't experience the impacts of climate change that the coastal states do. Also, you'd figure that more Conservative Evangelicals would actually care about climate change & it's impacts on society. Keep in mind, The Bible says that since the Earth is God's gift to man it's our duty to take care of it and everyone & everything on it. But, even if they found a way around this, you'd figure that they would at least want to prevent millions of migrants from countries that are no longer habitable from wanting to come to America in the future. Finally, even if you don't support The Green New Deal and similar policies because you don't believe in climate change, why wouldn't you at least support it because it would promote new well-paying green energy jobs here in the United States? And I'll end with a joke: Ben Shapiro: If you believe you're in an area that's gonna be flooded from climate change then just sell your house and move. Responder: Just 1 small problem: Sell our houses to who, Ben?! Aquaman?!

As a huge critic of Biden I am in no way looking to let him off the hook but what I heard not spoken well was a giant well of frustration boiling over into anger. I think what Biden meant was Manchen never negotiated in good faith so in essence there were no negotiations. Hard to hear people when they're angry. Hell, I'd even like to hear a Republican Senator speak similar sentiments about Manchin (even though they're basically on the same side). Think back to the 90's when Bob Dole heaped praise on Sam Nunn of Georgia as "a Democrat we can work with" back when Nunn was a thorn in Clinton's side. Now let's hear from more Senators with a "D" next to their name call out this nonsense. Consider this a prediction and not prophecy: The GOP Senators are *not* ideologically committed to the filibuster, and will probably get rid of it if and/or when they take back both the legislative and executive branches.
