Shane Gillis was in the audience and without a doubt should have replaced them. Shane also actually knows his football too. The 2bears just were so out of place.

Pat McAfee summed it up the best saying something like, "Tom and Bert were a good break in the middle of all of the action." Edit: Quote from Pat's show - "2 bears provided an incredible break I do believe, in the middle of the action." I guess their set was during intermission which wasn't clear, possibly why Pat said 'break'.

You’d assume two professional comedians would have wrote something better, and would’ve avoided using a teleprompter. They literally do stand up comedy, in front of thousands without a teleprompter, just remembering their set, for a LIVING. If they can do that for a full special, a few minute set at this roast should be a cake walk. It sounded like they didn’t even ever rehearse! Bombed. I like them, (bert now less than use to) but they just seemed soooo out of place here. Best part of the entire roast, out of anytime Bert was roasted, Tony was the best part. That’s the only good thing I got out of Bert being there. Shane Gillis should’ve been swapped with the 2bears… undoubtedly.

This was actually very funny. The night was so damn epic in the world of comedy that it comes across as bad but it was far from it. Side note, Bert would later have one of the funniest moments of the roast during Sam Jay’s turn that inevitably got edited out. Legend.
