You need to check out Ryan Sicklers honeydew pod. HILARIOUS and also some of the deepest, craziest stories you'll ever hear. So good I had to comment to a random person on RU-vid lol
@@julioenrique8552 Ah. It’s a spin on an old gambling phrase, “The game was not worth the candle,” from when they used to play cards by candlelight. Basically saying that wasn’t wasting a candle for. This episode is worth a candelabra at least.
Its so interesting to see Neal and Berts dynamic. Its such the opposite to Tom and Bert together (not that its a bad thing). Neal almost has this calming affect with the people he talks to.
I'm more concerned with him treating his feet publicly. I found one type of person that Bert and Tom don't hate equally. Maybe about the random comic or even just stereotype, but we already know Bert loves himself. This was all to say it seems like something Tom or Christina would comment on if they had seen anything from this podcast.
In his defense, he did it once and people loved it! Now he’s trapped into doing it for fear of losing his audience. Tough spot, but probably the same spot these ladies find themselves in. Weird world!
There were so many great moments in this episode. I saw the first Blocks episode and the Lettermen part in this one literally made me cry. The Barry Katz advice about how much Bert overestimated how much other people were thinking about him, we could all learn from that. But I'm not exaggerating when I sat that this was the best podcast I've ever watched. I can totally picture Bert on his deathbed Neal in his cape finishing on his face saying "Aloha Bert." The Hawaii of comedy Bert Kreischer!!!
I agree that this was the best Bert podcast ever. From the second Neil called him ‘so weird’ I knew it was different. It was observation not judgment. I was in…bravo! But now I need to know the comic on 2bears and who’s the female comic who called him a parlour trick…
Let's please give a huge round of applause for whoever edited this. Becuase I know Bert's cadence. And the editor literally saved us from a metric fuck ton of random tangents that went absolutely nowhere. Tom?
This is literally the absolute best interview of Bert. He really is being human here, extremely relatable and sharing funny stuff. Yeah man, keep it up Bert. 🎉
These Neil Blocks Podcasts have been amazing. I miss How Neil Feel, and these have been hitting the spot!! I thought 3 Mics would've been hard to beat, but Blocks is beautiful!!!
love it neal. found you via 2bears1cave. now seen all of your specials, listened to all your podcast appearances and listened to about 15 How Neal Feels. I'm also a big psychedelic advocist. you're a fucking fantastic comedian. So pleased you're doing a new podcast!
@@JoDoughyes!! No disrespect to Bianca but the champs was a way better podcast and had a lot of dope guests, some of them before they were even really famous like lil rel and Tiffany haddish. Definitely check it out
I absolutely love the vulnerability & honesty that Neal himself shares & manages to pull out of other such larger than life comedy titans. It's so refreshing to have a podcast host explore deeper areas of our favorite comedians personalities, it really makes them feel that much more human, and it makes me like them so much more.
"A girl who treats their body very publicly, I'm not that guy." - Guy with multiple full length topless standup performances I can already tell, he's gonna be on another level this one. Ask Bert for introspection and you'll get nothing but projection. Classic.
I once read a quote somewhere that I think bert would love "No one loves you unconditionally like your spouse. They love you for no reason but your parents love you cause your their child, and your children love you cause you're there parent. So there is no one in the world that's loves you more than a spouse."
The chemistry in this interview is palpable. Bert’s openness and vulnerability set against Neal’s, Barbara’s Walters style level investigative journalism. True art. Could use a few more ads in my opinion.
Let’s find the real reason this episode is incredible….Brennan just allowed Bert to let his ADHD ggggoooooo and it revealed a deeper issue that’s likely been a topic of conversation in his personal life. This is an alcoholic’s behavior. He revealed so many things that seem incriminating and deeply personal to people in his close social circles. I hope Bert takes care of his mental health.
Neal might be the greatest producer of comedy content of all time. The stuff he does, directs, and produces is historic. Gotta give him his flowers now!
Did he really say he doesn't like women who treat their body very publicly @4:15 ?!?!?!?!? This guys whole premise is alcohol, alcoholism and doing standup shirtless....
Bert being shirtless is feeling like Cannon's turban. He want's to be big but larger audiences will be wondering what the fuck is with the turban/shirtless. Sasso on Mad TV did a skit where he wasn't funny if he wasn't fat and Letterman hears about this guy because of being shirtless. What a conundrum.
I'm with Bert on the dance video.. I didn't find it funny that Tom stabbed Bert. Didn't bother me either... Just like Bert, I wondered what it was about. But I do find it funny that Tom finds it funny, if that makes sense at all.
This guy is an actor. Not a comedian. He’s acting like a guy he knows that was acting like another guy he thought was a comedian. The Theo Von syndrome I call it. I’m other words I don’t become a comedian if I hang out with a guy that is imitating Dice. Write some material and jokes. Stop fake laughing.
Bert not getting Tom stabbing him in the video is the difference between Tom and Bert. Tom is a fucked up dude, of course he's going to stab his best friend in his fantasy video! He was 10 seconds away from stabbing all those backup dancer chicks as well!
I can’t believe I didn’t know who BERT was until he was on Bill Maher Club random podcast. I thought he was wicked funny and really ridiculous so I had to check him out. I’ve been a fan ever since. I love his wife Leanne.
1:13 Biff Khristmas is wrong. I HAVE listened to hours & hours of JRE, & yes, I do think he’s a mouth breathing dunce. I stopped listening for a reason
never stop taking about the interesting stuff. boring shit is endlessly boring, and a waste of *your* time. Don't talk about shit that you don't want to actually hear someone else say.
The man with a Wikipedia page that says he is known for “performing comedy while shirtless” doesn’t want anything to do with “a girl who treats her body very publicly”. That’s some comedy right there 💁🏻♀️
Would love to see Moshe on here as a guest at some point. He doesn’t have the name recognition as a Letterman or even Bert, but I consider him our WC Neal: hilarious, wise, underhyped, and deeply weird (in a good way).
Neal… you asked some great questions. I learned more about Bert during your podcast Then all the other podcasts I’ve seen him on including two Bears one Cave. I used to like Bert; now I absolutely adore him. He is so honest and vulnerable and sweet.
Im loving the podcast! And THANK YOU for having Bert on a d sharing the David Letterman video with him. When i watched the David Letterman episode i was all i would give anything to know Bert’s reaction to this! But honestly, really enjoying listening! Easy to listen to the whole episode!
Great podcast. Like many others have already mentioned, your personalities play well off each other. This is the first I’ve watched/listened to with Neal as host, and it’s a good fit. Had seen his guest appearances promoting the new special, and judging by how well those went, he brings that same comedic dry wit in this. Looking forward to future episodes.
I've watched endless hours of podcasts. Started listening to Carolla and then Rogan back in like 2009? This ranks up there with one of my favorites of all time. Bert and Neal are great. As mentioned at the end, their energies just mesh really well. Neal isn't afraid to ask the "taboo" topics and Bert sure as hell ain't afraid to touch any topic. Excited to see who the next guest is.
I couldn't sleep, so I turned on this podcast that RU-vid had been pushing to me for a few days. Usually, insomnia sucks, but I really gained something from this. It was really incredible to listen to Bert be so vulnerable, and he gave some insight that I'll use in my life going forward. Neal seems to be a great interviewer too.
Words can't describe how these 2 make me feel but here is my attempt... Been a huge fan for many many years and comedy aside cause it's clear they are on top of their game, these 2 are seriously the most genuine, humble and kind hearted comedians I ever watched. I love their how open and honest they are about themselves and their lives. These open discussions they have on podcasts are the reason I fall in love with them even more. There are many great comedians out there but the difference is some of those comedians seem like they would be shitty people in real life, but these 2 would be an unbelievable hang purely because they seem like they have the biggest hearts. On another note, I relate so much to Burt when he gets emotional about being a father and his kids growing up, I am always so moved and touched cause I am the exact same way. Love this podcast!!!
