Spent many a day at Mr Bert's house and in his yard talking dogs and listening to everything he said. Got some mighty fine dogs from him and wish I still had that pure Sorrels genetics in new yard, they were hard no quitting dogs and very intelligent. Thank you Mr Garcia for all you do for our community
One of my all-time favorite BULLDOGS is Ch Silver,a pure sorrels dog.. what was amazingly obvious about this bulldog, and by proxy this line of dogs is their intelligence, I was amazed at his ability to adjust to the dog Infront of him.. such a beautiful thing to see, it shows great intelligence and ability to think himself outta situations.. thats my take at least..
ive seen some vids of shows with him, super inteligent, defensive headdog who made his opps empty their tank before comitting......@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 and thanks again mr. Garcia for registering my dog the pedigree paperwork is second-to-none thank you again and I'm definitely going to be doing business with you in the future very very soon
Bert lived in San Bernardino, California before moving out to Aver Valley outside of Marana, Arizona. He was married to Jean at the time I knew him. He sent me a daughter off of Preacher (STP) and sent me a son off of Roadblock. He told me he had 150 or so matches and favored a carpet mill and a 45 day keep. He named the bitch he sent me after one of his daughters, Rhonda. He told me Carver was a big bullshitter but he liked him. Regarding the true pedigrees of dogs, he remarked, "Only the breeder really knows." He taught me that the goal of conditioning was "fast recovery" and didn't believe in two-a-day workouts. He'd get me to alternate between letting a dog work at his own pace and open the dog up to short full on sprints and let them slow down and recover. I later used cross training utilizing handwalking, slat mill, carpet mill and an electric treadmill set at its slowest setting in between sets on the slat or carpet mill and flirt pole work on alternative days with a days rest between the hard days. But, the carpet mill helped get a dog strong enough to drive dogs into the corners and put the hurt on them. I kept in touch with him when he moved to Ponce De Leon in the Florida Panhandle and he gave me his blessings prior to the last match I had in 'O2. I was saddened to hear of his passing and miss having long conversations with him. He told me that you can't win em all, but if you lost, go back and beat em. Thanks for sharing about BUCKSHOT Sorrells, Mister Garcia.♥️
Ch Going Light Barney was Crazy Mary's grandson and just looking at the pictures of this dog, wow. Beautiful bridle animal and he seemed to absolutely adore kids and people, like any good APBT should! I love the look of Sorrell's Ch Raisin, this dog looks like he was raisin' hell! i remember you saying Baker Davis mixed his Chivo, Midnight Cowboy and Boomerang blood together. Raisin goes back to Chivo and Boomerang. RIP Bert Sorrells, he had em all. Gr Ch's, Ch's, 2x winners, 1x winners and great stud dogs who made rom. Keep Scratchin Mr Garcia your content makes my day.
Good points and I agree. Barney was a well put up dog. Sorrells and others saw the potential of breeding Boomerang Chivo Piggy Cowboy dogs together and it worked.
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 How the hell are you! Shoshone was my favorite out of his Bloodline! But you do know that TonTonka blood is no way in hell the same dogs Bert bred she just bred dogs off foundation he Built!
@40 street black I'm doing well my friend thank you. When I visited Sorrells he was already established as a top dogman and breeder and he wasn't married at the time. I fully understand what you're saying
@@massdisruption3437 You aint kidding, i had a male 1 timer escape his cage and was gone for a week. found him one morning on my neighbors english fox hound.
Bert was a friend... and he always gave me honest info'...and we spoke about everything including the animals...Rest in light and Power Bert..Note he was as Game as his Dogs
Another great video. There has always been some confusion on which female Sorrells recieved in that deal. I originally heard it was Crazy Mary but was later told it was Goldie. I never did come to any conclusion so the mystery continues for now
I spent a lot of time with Bert early 80s when he was in Arizona when I was importing dogs into Aus, I acquired a litter mate bitch to Old Boiler and Sailor ( HardeyesxBandit) I imported Ch Bubba Boe and Soso Boys Ch Bronko a buckskin with his toes bit off, Bert got Bronko for us as we wanted an outcross to the blood we had from him, Bert never bred to Bronko and didn't have him long, at the time he had Hardeyes, Roadblock, Bubba Sailor Old Boiler, just host of great dogs, told me Shoshone was the best dog he ever owned, said he wouldn't start, Bert had enough put Blue Monday on him, said if that son/obitch don't get up Monday will kill his ass, said Shoshone got up and fired back and Bert said holy fck get him off, said he was the best he had.
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 Thank you I have fond memories of those days, a lifetime away now, the funny part about living it is that at the time you don't realize the significance of the dogs standing before you, the first time I went out to Arizona Bert said he had around a dozen fast track match dogs on the yard saying it was probably one of the strongest he had at any one time, the mountain lion cage was there but the cat was not, Bert was a wonderful dogman there was no part of game dogs he didn't understand at an extremely high level, I have videos of these dogs in his yard at the time, I don't have Bulldogs these days as Ive been creating my own breed for many years now, I owe Bert a lot he educated me on dogs in a way that very few could, I enjoyed your video on Bert Richard, so much was true unlike many others I see being put out.
This is the blood I run and the video I been waiting for nice. We got some heavy Corvino inspired stuff with Sorrells Bull. Man I wonder how I could see any of those matches.
I don't know anyone that has dogs available. I'm hearing the invicto Big John stuff is good and the Mayday Buck blood. Mexican Eli is popular if you can find it
I have my new book available now. You can purchase directly from me. Price with shipping inside the USA is $110. Contact me on Facebook messenger or my email richardjschoolboy60@gmail.com or on Instagram messenger for ordering details-SB
Felt sorry for he went to Arizona for a convention with Bobby Smith met a woman brought her back to Florida she hooked up with some guys and rip him off stole his dog s it broke Bert's heart it finished him
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 so you know what I'm saying is the truth that was a long time ago and you had to know either Bobby or Bert to know what I'm saying is the truth
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 I run the badger and bad Billy dogs for 8 years but I started having skin problems and weak teeth and they lost their mouth and became more of a game dog instead of a destroyer heavy inbred
Some bloodlines are named after the breeder and some are named after the dog. If it's named after the breeder it's his family of dogs which usually includes more than a few bloodlines and if it's named after a dog the family keys on that particular dog.
