After owning these bespoke ear plugs for 1 year, are they the best hearing protection for biking?

I bought some custom ones off a local ear specialist. Best £50 I’ve ever spent. I tried loads of foam and other types prior to getting them and they either didn’t block anything out or worked loose. The custom ones block out all the wind noise, but I can still hear the bike and traffic around me

Hi Tim, thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. That's great to hear. As you say many of the non bespoke 'plugs' don't work as 'advertised', especially when combined with a helmet. Your lucky to have a specialist near you, and at £50 that's very good value. This sort of ear protection really does improve the riding experience.

Howdee. 6 of us bought the CFG earbuds to use with our Cardo's. Have to say the earbuds themselves are brilliant. On a downside, the service was crap, took much much longer than the stated time to make and deliver them. I hope they've got that side of things sorted, cos it was a real let down after all the promises. At the moment, one of our lads has sent his back for repair, and they've had them quite a while already, so fingers crossed for him.

Hi Howdee, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I'm really sorry to hear that the CFG service wasn't up to standard, but glad you like the actual product. I can't use mine with my Cardo as I've gotta have the volume up really high and I have to say I had to wait for mine, but can't recall exactly how long. I've had mine a while now and they don't seem to fit as comfortably as they once did. I may well get a new casting taken at this years NEC bike show and I'm not linked or have any affiliation with CFG, but I do think they are amoung the best on the market for their price range.

How do you find the part that goes into the fold in your ear? I wear hearing aids and find that part of the moulding can be a bit sharp and uncomfortable in my ears

It fits perfectly and softly into the ear. I've had molded ear plugs by other manufacturers before and they were sharp round the edges, these certainly aren't. Should you decide to get some of these, I'd definately take your hearing aids with you if you don't wear them all the time.
