I saw one comment that said "did you run a marathon before you did this video" that was extremely mean and I heel bad for you. I like your content and this vid!
ha, if I couldn't take a mean comment every now and then, I should get off the internet. and there was a bit of truth to it. I am fat, and I get easily winded. I'm working on it, and it's actually encouragement to get better.
Late to the party here, but I think I'm going to pick up 1 or 2 of these for my wife and myself. Your review shows exactly what I want to know, which is how good a $200 laptop can be for slightly older games in addition to basic tasks. Judging by some viewers and other reviews, some people just don't get the point. I think I'll be happy with this for my Steam games and GOG.com games. Thank you!
Could you play counter strike and team fortress 2 and on Minecraft you can turn off VSync off in the video settings, that helps the fps without making the graphics look worse, just to let you know.
i have a good pc but this laptop is pretty good once you mess around with settings you can play csgo bo2 and gta5 you should search on youtube how to increase frames
Wait does the Hp Stream 14 2016 have a fan?? Yes Or No! I'm getting one for Christmas to play roblox. Also would I be able to play good if I put all the graphics low in roblox
This laptop hasn't been available for sale new for over a year. If you really want a good laptop, you can find 4th and 5th gen core i5 systems for sale on ebay for around the $200 price point and they'll be much better at just about everything compared to this laptop. rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575128025&toolid=10001&campid=5337703413&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fb%2FPC-Laptops-Netbooks%2F177%3F_sacat%3D177%26Processor%252520Type%3DIntel%252520Core%252520i5%2525204th%252520Gen%25252E%257CIntel%252520Core%252520i5%2525205th%252520Gen%25252E%257CIntel%252520Core%252520i7%2525204th%252520Gen%25252E%257CIntel%252520Core%252520i7%2525205th%252520Gen%25252E%26Screen%252520Size%3D14%25252D14%25252E9%252520in%26rt%3Dnc%26_udhi%3D200
very good video i will show this to those gamers who they want 10000000000$ computer ( i dont say they need to buy a 200$ computer but i believe a good search for a 500 - 650$ computer can give you good results )
AICproductions Yep, just like Counter Strike and Team Fortress Valve just took a popular mod and made a sequel to it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_the_Ancients
I would not do pvp seriously on this laptop. it is NOT a gaming laptop. it is a cheap laptop that can play some casual games. as far as your web browser question, do you mean how does it run web browser windows? pretty decently.
is this Minecraft windows 10 edition, with the optifine plugin installed? and you where running recording software, should that decrease performance? Sorry, I skipped around a lot ant didn't watch the full video.
could you tell me how it works this laptop when surfing with Google Chrome? how many tabs can be opened without lag? and when loading pages like Twitter or Facebook or heavy pages, there is some kind of lag? and finally as the 1080p videos from RU-vid work?
@@Finerojiro Neither. If you have $200, go on ebay and buy a lightly used busness class notebook. They'll crush any of these newer sub $200 notebooks without issue, and last you longer, and be more upgradeable. rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575128025&toolid=10001&campid=5337703413&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fb%2FPC-Laptops-Netbooks%2F177%3F_sacat%3D177%26Processor%252520Type%3DIntel%252520Core%252520i5%2525204th%252520Gen%25252E%257CIntel%252520Core%252520i5%2525205th%252520Gen%25252E%257CIntel%252520Core%252520i7%2525204th%252520Gen%25252E%257CIntel%252520Core%252520i7%2525205th%252520Gen%25252E%26Screen%252520Size%3D14%25252D14%25252E9%252520in%26rt%3Dnc%26_udhi%3D200
can you play dead frontier 3d on this laptop, because i'm thinking of getting this laptop and using it to play it on this. it's a relatively not graphic intense depending on settings, just tell me how high you can set the graphics til it becomes unplayable if you get to playing it. thanks
I did, but this laptop is now over two years old, and they sell USED for $200. It is not what I would recommend to purchase at all. Honestly, if your budget is $200 or less. Look at a used business class laptop. They are often still in great condition, and they will CRUSH this laptop in every performance way possible. and if you plan on playing games on it at all... Yeah, you'll want the performance. Check this out: rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575128025&toolid=10001&campid=5337703343&customid=&icep_item=322874785155&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg For $130, you get a nice looking laptop with a 3rd gen core i5 processor. That gives you room in your budget to upgrade the SSD AND ram, and still be in under that $200 (SSD: amzn.to/2OhViw7 $27, and ram: amzn.to/2JZxNEq $27, Total $184) I have a similar elitebook, I am ordering a 4 core 8 thread core i7 for it, so I'll be breaking the $200 mark, BUT anything new under $200 won't hold a candle to it.
+Jaydaaa you have to have internet to log into your Minecraft account the first time and then every week or two after. If you log in once, then you're good for a while with no internet access.
Nearly silent. Even when I was gaming on it, the fan was hardly audible. Most of the time, unless I had my hand next to the vents, I didn't know the fan was running.
AwZS Nameless I know of 2 blue hp laptops, one of them would be the hp 14 chromebook an that I'm 99% that would be a no, the other blue one I saw was new an it's $500 but it might play at the lowest settings or it could not be playable.
Wow, this 200 dollar computer is way better then my 200 dollar computer. My 200 dollar computer cant even handle the simple games and chat like roblox and discord combined. Roblox and discord only takes 1 and some mb of ram lol.
Yeah, it really is a bargain... if you can find it. Its still one of the best deals for a new computer. You can get a lot more horsepower if you go used, but great deal for new.
AICproductions Do you think you could do a video of this of Unturned? i know this was made a while ago, but if you got the computer could you make a video of testing Unturned?
+Allboy I have not been able to compare like for like, but I have a Celeron n3050, and this system is much faster, but out of the box it has double the ram. And being able to upgrade this system makes it 10x the machine my Celeron is. But I don't have a Celeron with 4 gigs of memory to test.
Guys remember that you can also update Minecraft to the newest version wich always improves performance. Plus you can add the (Optifine) mod to increass minecraft framerate (fps). Also there's a bunch of ways to make your pc faster by removing useless junk. I rate this pc 10/10 for the price and potential.
it's really hard to find this laptop in indonesia, but i found different type but with same specification, i hope it will give the same performance when i buy it
These laptops are confusing... I bought a laptop at Walmart that had max 8gb ram upgrade. But i tried 16 gb and switched to Ubuntu and it worked... I wounder if i can put 16gb in this one... I mean it wont work in windows but it might in Linux.
if you are talking about the originals, they should run without issue, they are pretty old games, and don't require a lot of horse power to run. I highly recommend upgrading the storage to a larger SSD, so you can actually install the games to the system.
AICproductions thanks for the response! I figured it would be able to since these tests were on games that I assumed took more effort to run. just wanted to confirm before I spent the cash. thanks again
yeah, the system requirements on those is still pretty low, so it shouldn't be an issue. I have not tried those at all personally, but just looking at the specs, should be quite playable.
Obey ObsidianFX Maybe on Black ops 2 at low settings you can get 60fps... And gl with Cinima 4d and Vegas. This machine is NOT ment for any thing but media consumption and Microsoft office and other browser tasks. If you are looking at recording and live streaming even lighter games like csgo, you have to at least get something like the Inspiron 7559 or the Acer vx15. (Both around 800$)
on lowest settings it would be "playable" but I would not try to competition game on this. Its a $200 budget laptop. not a dedicated gaming laptop. so set your expectations accordingly.
This specific laptop? not anymore, this video is over 2 years old now... so tech has moved on in two years. More importantly, you can spend Less than $200 and picked up a used thinkpad with a 4th or 4th gen core i5, which is vastly superior to this machine: rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575128025&toolid=10001&campid=5337703343&customid=&icep_item=323371264176&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg
Yeah, this video is over 18 months old. They haven’t made the computer in at least 6 months. I recommend you check out amzn.to/2GLePQk. An excellent system, available now.
+AwZS Nameless the HP steam systems are very under powered, and I would not expect to load more than a couple of web pages, much less play games. For the same price, you can get the an013nr, and have a higher performing machine, not a gaming machine, but far superior to the steam systems.
I know. I don't install optifine for these reviews, so people get a better understanding of what to expect. I use minecraft as a baseline. I've reviewed a number of laptops and try to keep things level as possible between them.
Get a used Lenovo Thinkpad workstation laptop (T or W series). Seriously. Its not going to be as sexy as a newer machine, but for the $$ you'll get a lot more machine. Like this: amzn.to/2u6Hn3N 3rd gen core i5 with plenty of budget left for a good sized SSD, and you'll still have money left over. if you really shop it, you can find one with a dedicated video card. Or like this one: amzn.to/2u4Xmxt First gen Core i7 with dedicated video card, which means no USB3.0, BUT for $300 it would CRUSH the performance of this HP laptop, and still give you money in your budget for an SSD, and these older gen lenovos are amazing, since parts/accessories are stupid cheap since they made and sold so many of them, and kept the format the same for so long the parts can be used across many generations of laptops. Plus if you do a lot of typing the keyboards are far superior to anything on a modern laptop.
I say what I tell everybody, this is not a gaming machine. Will it install and run? sure. will it be at a framerate that is acceptable? maybe? if you set the settings at the lowest setting. but it is not a gaming laptop. but you will HAVE to install more memory and an SSD, since the emmc storage is painfully slow.
Oh okay, there's no vents so I assumed there wasn't one. Could you recommend a laptop for around $350 or £250? I did want this laptop but I need one that's slightly more powerful
