$300 seems pricey for a locking lid. There’s lots of others available on the market that include a fully integrated metal box enclosure for the same money or less.

I’m driving a 2024 F-150 at work and it came from the factory with this feature so you don’t even need to buy it, maybe not quite that intimidating, but you just put the truck key in the front of the console and then turn it and it locks

I've had one in my Ram 1500 for 10 years and about a year ago put one in my Toyota Highlander. They give me peace of mind to know I can store objects of value in there and they will be safe from the typical smash and grab car robberies that are so common everywhere. Similar reason to why I have dash cams in both vehicles. In the rare but certainly possible cases where something bad happens I know I am at least somewhat prepared. The safes are not a financial issue for me so your mileage might vary.😉

Great video! Do you know your truck can still be started if the keys are left inside the vault? Also curious about cell phone usage. I typically leave my cell phone and keys inside my truck and use the driver side door to lock/unlock the truck.

I don't know why they cheaped out on the Ford version, but the Ram version is an entire metal box, not just a lid. Like everything though, it's a theft deterent more than anything, nothing is safe in the wrong hands.

He has a video on it. It increases the clearance between the lowered tailgate and the trailer and allows him to hitch up at an angle without colliding.

If you go somewhere that your "self-defense" items need to be secured temporarily (school, hospital, government building), this is the bare minimum for short term storage. I would not leave any valuables overnight or if my truck was going to be parked for an extended period of time.

Really like the idea of having a safe place to store your valuables. I'm not an expert on locks or anything BUT... since you have the button to change the security code on the side of the lock itself isn't that a liability? Again great and informative video.

You have to have the correct combo in first in order to push in the pin to change the combo. So no, there's no liability.
