Would it work on a cammed 2009 challenger RT. Compcam HRT stage 2 cam master kit minus the lifter they were out got engine tech roller lifters and shorty headers also phase locked VVT. Had a place adjudt cam but still only dyno at 358??? Should be 400whp at least car dies on me going from reverse to drive or neutral to drive unless i hit gas quick after A couple people suggest FRP tuner but what do you think would be better FRP or T2?
Should consider a hellcat airbox w/airtube to headlight and hellcat air filter. Cheap and works great. In Florida typical IATs are about 5* over ambient as long as you are moving and getting air. 100 buck BMR (or any brand you like) lower control arms are also helpful for launches to help avoid hop, which be damaging. Enjoying your 392 progress!
I've never had wheel hop but I've seen it. I'll def check out some control arms. This 392 will be ripping soon enough - but i'm loving the HP/Torque level as is for now.
@@RTLife actually BMR lists them as LTA110 Lower Trailing Arms, Non-adjustable, Poly Bushings Def worth the hundred bucks. Easy install and minimum added noise. Changing the uppers and other bushings is harder and for me not worth the hassle.
I did one in mine since it came with older style hellcat hood with heat extractors and I was worried about rain in the vents so I liked it closed off but if I had the older style hood I would have definitely went with the jlt either ways a win though
Should just get the drag kit from AAD instead. Has the upper & lower rear control arms that are billet aluminum & fully adjustable. BMR's rear cradle & diff lockouts are a must though! 👍🤙
Bro do you have steady like 9-5 job or do you rely on your videos for your main income. Just wondering, these mods aren’t cheap, I have about $10,000 into my 392 charger. Coil overs, rims and tires, and full corsa cat back exhaust. Next is some long tubes and the tune. Just wondering, I get it if you don’t want to share that info
I would even say swap out your stock springs for 1320 or drag springs since you’re planning for the track with this. Squat and go and it feels good! Got mines installed today and it feels good!
Holy crap! an actual "How-To" video from RT Life! Nice!!! Regarding the PCM swap - a dealer is going to know if you swapped the stock PCM in and out, so that's really kind of pointless. It all depends on your dealer - if they wanna make an issue out of it they will, regardless of which PCM is installed when you bring it in for service, because they WILL know that it was swapped. For this reason, I chose to just replace my stock PCM without keeping my original, and the money i saved went to other mods. Also, I blew out the rear end of my hellcat WITH an unlocked PCM installed. My dealer still replaced the rear under warranty even though they knew I swapped the PCM. Moral of the story - find a good dealer.
yah that's pretty much the reason I did the swap. They know but still some people can play stupid if their Stock PCM is in & there's no other upgrades in place.
I have a Diablosport i3 tuner, worked out great for me. I have uploaded a canned 91 octane tune in both my hemi Chrysler 300C(made them into rocketships with just a canned tune!)and my '12 Challenger R/T M6 hemi, and it was most noticeable on the Chrysler, raised redline to 6300 RPM and shift points are at 5900 to 6 grand even w/5-speed automatic, and M6 car has also been turned up. Great video, thanks man!
You know any good tuners in New York ? I bought long tubes for my 392 and I’m looking for a tuner now that can dynk tune and make my car run safely and healthy with the headers. It’s kinda hard to find good hemi tuners I feel like.
I ended up going with EFI Specialities - so it's a bit of a drive if you want a dyno tune. He can do remote tuning though. That's the same tuner Modern Red Hemi & Mackbuilt has
All you need is a Drag Pak and a seat delete to run deep in the 11s. I run high 11s on street with street radials, so it doesn't take any major modding for a 392, they are optimized great from the factory, especially the newer models.
Excited to watch as you build up your 392! Glad you went with this platform because I can see how these mods work for you before I get them haha. Just picked myself up that exact bravado wheel for my scat too. Take care man love the videos!
I know you like Diablo but hp tuners just need the device you do not need a laptop all you need is a cell phone to data log read and write tunes and you can send them any where and you have track addict. On t&t days I use my laptop. in race events I use my phone to keep 6 pounds lighter lol my tuner gets my logs in 30 seconds with hp tuners new soft wear. I don't need wires I can use Bluetooth for phone or laptop and if I give my tuner a code he can see everything on demand I just want to clear things up about hp tuners. Mickeys going to work great on the scat. Keep up with the great content mopar or no car
I am sure you will run under 4.0 0-60. Don't know if you remember my video or not but I ran a 3.9 in the Charger bone stock on a 555R. You will do it in that lighter Challenger. Here's the video link if you want to go back and look at it. I detail how I got the quickest times. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mUTSUv9dxrk.html I actually think with more time (practice) I could have trimmed that by 1-2 tenths. I bet you get a 3.6-3.7 out of it before the tune. All guesses and speculation of course. LOL. Can't wait to see what number you can run.
I remember seeing a handful of videos showing off 0-60 times under 4 seconds which I think is really impressive. Shows how much low end torque the 392 makes
@@mrdr_392 I don't know, as I don't live there. They do have emissions testing where I live. I was simply trying to make others aware that removing your cats, while it does give you a performance bump, it'll usually cause your vehicle to fail emissions testing. Therefore you should check your local laws before doing a cat delete if you want to drive it on the street.
You got 2 awesome cars. I love N/A power and I'm more partial to the Challenger. Been considering getting a Challenger myself after I'm done will my Ram build.
I love driving the challenger. Very different feeling then the Charger. You're going to enjoy having one & modding it up. Thanks man, def appreciate it.
I am having Valvetronic universal mufflers installed in my scat. Have you heard of them? Valvetronic for mids and vibrant 1142 for rear resonators. MFER-1 to deactivate factory active exhaust. With Valvetronic can open or close valve with key fob or even Homelink garage door buttons.
Totally agree. Gives you more room with those bigass connectors. Should loosen driver's side bolts just enough, then remove the passenger side. Will let you move the cross-member all the way to the strut cap. Just make sure you get the "hook" for the wiper motor when you put is back. 😉
That's awesome congrats on the Scatpack, Dave katz is actually tuning my scat pack also. The guy is awesome, super nice guy, and responds to your emails right on point. Awesome customer service 👍
Excited for the build. Sold my 2020 wide body scat and missed it. Just recently added a 2010 6.1 to the garage but missing that 392 power. Wonder what options I have to get to stock 392 levels. Love the videos.
New Camshaft & long tubes - that will easily get that 6.1L to 430whp range. Those 6.1's are great for building power but I def understand enjoying that 392 power level.
6.1’s take boost a lot better than 6.4’s so that’s always an option, you could probably get away with 10-12 psi atock everything, but of course heads, cam, long tubes, exhaust and such will make the most of it
I believe the Apache heads will fit the 6.1L block perfectly, unlike the 5.7L block. That alone will help it breathe better. Then like the rest have already said: Intake, cam, & exhaust will do the rest. 😉
Did you ruin your warranty for making your car louder, or do you own your car out right. I would love to make my 2022 Dodge Challenger 392 R/T Scat Pack louder. But they said it would ruin my warranty. ☹️☹️☹️☹️
The mid muffler delete like he has doesn't void the warranty. However, if you have issues with the exhaust afterwards, the stealership most likely won't cover it under warranty. This is why you're better off getting a catback exhaust kit rather than hacking up your factory exhaust. Obviously it's more expensive, but you could always swap it back if you needed/wanted to. I personally like the MagnaFlow X-mod kit. That's what I'd go with if I had it to do over again. It gives you the option for mufflers or no mufflers. 😈
@R/T Life ohhhhhh.... I thought it ruined all of the warranty. I asked the dealership about getting a mid muffler delete, and they told me it would ruin my warranty. Didn't know that. Hmmmm 🤔 🤔 🤔 Now I must look into this, lol. I want my Scat to sound louder.
@@steadycuzzin5813 The stealerships will say & do anything to save money. Long tube headers & bigger pipes will do the trick. I admit that I was disappointed in my first catback kit when connected to OEM mid pipes. Adding long tubes & high flow cats changed the game! 😈
Happy belated Birthday R man, hope it was a great one. Not sure how far South you are in Florida, but we are picking up our 23 300 C in Hickory NC once it’s built and delivered. Maybe we can get down your way on the drive back home from there.
I'm right outside of Orlando. We can def meet up somewhere - I'd love to see that new 300c! Thank you very much for the BDay wish - hope all is good on your end.
Love your channel!! I got a 2021 392 wide body frost bite charger , just did a legmaker intake, long tube headers and unlock pcm tune!! The car runs like a beast!!!!
Sup bro I recently bought the Diablo tuner changed some parameters. But now thinking of changing it to 93 tune. Is a 2014 300 5.7 and I have a question do you have to change the gas before tune or after the 93 tune?
Always great content Mr. RTL 😊 Can you settle my fear of adding a Diablo tuner? I read a lot on challenger forumz about cars running to lean or to rich and causing knock and they can’t figure it out. I’m not a tuning expert but love the idea of picking up a another 20+ on the ponies and torque. I’m running with a 2022 5.7 Shaker with hellcat intake and larger throttle body. warranty is a non issue. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
If you're worried about the diablo tune - you can always get in touch with EFI Specialities. They will give you a custom tune for you to load up on your diablo to account for any upgrades & adjust the proper air/fuel. I didn't have any issues with the 93 diablo tune but email tuning is amazing. Thank you for the support - hope that helps a little.
Thanks for the quick response. I’m leaning towards the standard i3 … not the Platinum. Do you think I’ll see any HP/TQ gains with a canned tune? Ps…you’re new ride is sweet!
@@BillysWWF I noticed a big time jump in my 5.7L R/T a while back when I loaded up the 93 diablo tune. Check out this 5.7 ram that loaded up the 93 tune ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NonLiH7CA_M.html
@R/T Life Yeah I agree. Money gies quick. Last time I had 12k invested. But it was fun. Just dont know if I should use Diablo for tuning again or try the HP tuners route this time.
@@brokelahomachickenfry6497 HP will give you more options & finer tuning capabilities. Plus every pro tuner i've seen uses HP Tuners. They just came out with their MPVI3 not long ago, right after I just got the MPVI2+! 😭 It adds BT connectivity, so no need for wires.
@DJ G-Roc how does that work with the 2022 models? I heard that I believe it was 2019 and newer have to get an access cable in the trunk due to the obdii locked thatvare inside the car? Either of yall have info or advice? I want to get my additional pcm and start getting tunes. But, I also had a hard time getting reliable tunes with the cam last time. Most of mine will have to be emailed to me here in Oklahoma. I really want someone who delas with hemis reguarly. I thought about High Horse Performance.
@@brokelahomachickenfry6497 Yes, for the 2018 & cars, you'll need to install an ODB2 bypass cable in the trunk to use anything that requires an ODB2 connection. Not sure how well that'll work with the DiabloSport, but if you get the new MPVI3 from HP, it uses bluetooth. Being that you're in OK, it should be an easy run down to the DFW area if you're anywhere near I-35. Lots of good tuning shops down there I hear. Check out Demonology's channel, & you'll get a few. I've been having a hard time finding reputable tuners here in AZ as well, so I feel your pain. Driving to TX is simply outta the question. HHP does have good stuff to BTW, but they're in Delaware.
If something big happens they'll likely turn you away because of the unlocked PCM & tuning. That said some dealerships look the other way & honor warranty work
@@RTLife not yet but im def planning to hit a track soon. I recently got into cars and i havent even had this thing long lol bought it brand new 13 months ago and did a texas speed stage 2 package about 3 months ago by high psi in TX. Ive roll raced with alot and i will say since ive done the mods ive been walking everything ive lined up with 😂.
@@notacarguy392 So just a cam and valve train then most likely. I had to look it up and dig through their website, when people say stuff like stage 2 kit or stage 3 intake, stage 2 exhaust, nobody has any idea what the hell they’re talking about unless they go to the exact place they bought it from and see how the manufacturer defines the different stages. I’m not trying to be an ass, just letting you know that it’s confusing for everyone else. It’s one of my biggest car community pet peeves. 😬 It’s a lot like asking someone what their car made on the dino and them saying it made 500. 500 horsepower? 500 lb/ft of torque? 500 kilowatts? 500 newtons? Nobody knows. Tune in next week. Anyways, peace player and enjoy that scat. Hopefully I will be able to buy one soon myself, thinking about selling my z28.
Yes. they can see if you messed with the PCM. But if you're just going there for maintenance work - it will not matter. Some dealerships also look the other way
There's 2 options though. You can either do a swap, where #'s no longer match; or you can simply get your original unlocked & re-install it. I did the latter, but I also do my own maintenance. I say the more time you spend worrying about warranties, the more gray hairs & wrinkles you'll have; & less time having fun & enjoying life! MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!! 🤘🤘
Get a set of proline eibach springs! Very Suttle drop tightened up the wheel gap and no need for a camber kit! Mine have been amazing and no uneven tire wear!
@@RTLife You'll get it once your power level goes up. Some times stickier tires can also cause it. Highly recommend the drag kit from AAD Performance. 😈
@@monty3927 You got the Per4mance brace? You should either add the diff locket or solid bushings if swapping out the diff. It'll help a ton! Same with rear cradle bushings.
@@RTLife No doubt! I think this car is going to be good for your channel. Your Charger was getting to be a car that was in an unattainable price for most. I think this Challenger will do well because it is very attainable. Adding all that power can be frustrating too with all the reliability issues.
Well this isn’t staying stock very long I’m ready for a nasty n/a build have yet to see a video of 550-600 whp on stock displacement n/a just wondering if that’s something you can possibly do see lt1/coyote cars do it all the time and want mine in that range if anyone else has pushed power like this lemme know
That's right above what I'm kind of aiming for with this. I loved having a street ride around the 450-500whp range. with a 392 I'm sure to hit that you'll need full bolt-on, cam & ported heads.
The 6.4L HEMI can easily hit 600 N/A hrsprs with the right mods & tuning. Basically need polished & ported heads, nice cam, valve-train upgrade to accommodate said cam (including MDS delete for auto trans cars), cold air intake, headers, & high flow exhaust. A bigger TB & possibly bigger injectors as well. ✌🤙
About to sell my truck and dump it into the 392 been really searching thinking what you guys are saying is what I need to be in that 550-600 whp range and if I went e85 should be even closer to 600 also thinking about forged internals to bump compression and also allow it to wrap out to 7 grand as long as I don’t have any restrictions or valve float hopefully it’s not too much to put down as a street focused car but I’d rather go all out the first time than do a simple cam/longtubes and possibly want more
@@keilwhittles9190 If you go with fully forged internals, then you can easily through a super charger/procharger on it. Pump the boost up to like 15 psi, & you're running with or outrunning Hellcats. Hell, if you wanna go that route might as well bore it out to 426ci, throw in an Arrington stroker kit, & then the blower & be making over a 1000 hrsprs. Arrington already has create engines available! 💪🏼
@@carlosestrada9824 Stop thinking about it, & just do it! 😉 When I picked up my '15 R/T back in '17, it had the rear resonators removed already by the previous owner. Didn't know it at the time, but it sounded savage. From what I've been able to tell, the difference between the mid muffler & the resonator is the tone. The mid delete has hollow or bellowing sound to me. Resonator delete makes it loud & rumble.
@@RTLifeust leave it be lol after u do one mod it never ends u have the fastest one around hands down lol get it out more often brother your ass is like me and never drives it hahaah
I run the 93 diablo tune on E85. I think the 93 gi es, like, 25hp and 25 ft/lbs. And the proflex Commander (to run E85) adds 30-35hp. Definitely noticeable power gains. And Mines a 6 speed with the 3.90 rear end. Absolutely love it. Awesome content bruh!!🤘🤘
I'm pumped to try this on the 392. With my 5.7L it was a noticeable difference. Thank you for the info- def will help with expectations & possible results.
