I invested in a 4x4 mimo omni directional antenna and it hasn't made any difference to the speed or latency at my North London address (N22). I have noticed that I don't get any more connection dips like before. Spending an additional £200 on an external antenna is a bit nutty.

Where EEscores highly, and you made no mentionnof it , is in the data gifting facility. EE are expensive but they do allow you yo gift data to your EE mobile which means that you can take out a contract with minimal data allowance on thebphone and just dip into your hub data. I am really on the fence with this, but am mindful of the awful lack of customer service with Three

so, are these 5g or 4g router packages able to be bundled with normal 4g/5g sims? what i mean is do i have to have a separate sim to use traditionally when you are out and about away from home as well as one of these routers at home? As i am currently with three mobile for my phone.

They typically come with a separate data SIM, otherwise you'd be constantly switching the SIM between your phone and your router which would be quite annoying. You could theoretically set up a mobile hotspot on your phone, but the Wi-Fi signal strength won't be great, and doing this will slowly degrade your phone's battery.

So If only have EE simcard "plan" can I buy three 5G HOME broadband? Or should I switch first?

Yes, you can use Three for home broadband and EE for your phone. No need to switch, you'll just have two different plans.

Hi there. Moving to a new address in a fortnight. I punched in the post code of we will be moving and this is what i found with the companies. Three 5G broadband has good coverage, £20 per month (24 months) whilst Community Fibre is also £20 per month (also 24 months) with 150MB speeds. Both unlimited broadband. Any thoughts on this please|?

It depends whether you value having a very low latency (CF will be lower) which is better for gaming, or a faster download speed (Three should offer 300 Mbps+). Three is also easier to set up, and also has a 30-day money-back guarantee you can take advantage of.

@@TechNomadUK1 Yeah it is. Your latency will be 10-15ms probably instead of 30-40ms.

What are the upload speeds on these ?

It depends on the network. Although their download speeds are great, Three limits their uploads to about 10-15 Mbps from our testing. Typically you'll see 15-30 I believe.

Thanks for the video. I bought a 5g router today on an unlimited plan. I'm disappointed as it's not showing 5g and the speeds are slower than my old telephone line (20mbps).. three router has gone higher on speed tests but isn't consistent and tested using Ookla speed test and it's slow. Other websites seem to vary when you speed test..i don't get it, surely the results should be consistent..

Have you tried putting the router in different positions, to try get it somewhere with more consistent 5G signal?

@@broadbandsavvy yep, moved it to different places.. it sometimes goes faster but my old phone line broadband seems not consistent and faster plus with a lower ping. The three network checker said they are trying to fix an issue, it's been like that since last night, doesn't seem reliable or dependable. Think it'll be going back.

The three router isn’t Free you have to return it after the deal or you will be charged and it’s not unlocked so it isn’t as good as it looks You aren’t buying the router you paying for the sim

We never said you get to keep it. The point is the offer saves you from having to pay a few hundred pounds for a router separately.
